Great beach access and walking path, location is great, short Uber rider or nice walk to the local spots. Try the restaurant "Padre", it was great. Morning coffee on the balcony was wonderful as were the sunsets. Everything in the unit was clean, and worked great. The unit and the building are clean and secure. ,,, parking with the unit was a plus,,, parking spot is a little tight, but no problem unless you have a large vehicle. Mark gave us a great tour of the property and had all the info we would need for our stay. We will be back!
We stayed in the Penthouse 5 nights for a family get away and birthday celebration. The condo was very spacious and had a wonderful view of the beach. We were very pleased with the accommodations and special extras (beach and BBQ accessories). Parking was tight but very much appreciated, as local parking in the area is limited.
My family was in Long Beach for a dance convention. My older daughter and I would go to the dance convention each day while my husband and younger daughter would enjoy checking out Long Beach or playing on the beach in front of the condo.
The condo was immaculate! It was SO clean, fresh and cool when we arrived! Air conditioning throughout was a major bonus although it was never oppressively hot out. The room darkening shades in the bedrooms made it easy for us to sleep well every night (which says a lot for a family coming from the mountains with NO neighbors, lots of dark and quiet). Street noise was not bothersome or noticeable to this mountain gal or my kids! The condo was well stocked with kitchen supplies (even tupperware and ziplocs!), beach towels, beach toys, beach chairs, beach umbrella, bath towels and hairdryers!! The view was unbeatable and we enjoyed having morning coffee on the balcony overlooking the beach. I saw other comments that the bathrooms need updating, but I guess I'm old school~I find the features in the baths charming and a statement to the character of when the building was built. Plus, you can tell the owners are working their way through updates throughout the unit and I wouldn't be surprised if bathroom remodels were coming sometime in the future. I, for one, was just fine with the bathrooms as they were very clean, had lots of towels and washcloths, and hairdryers.
Mark and Lorrie were a joy to work with. Mark walked us through everything we needed to know at check in and really made sure we "got it" in concerns to parking, key codes, and helping maintain the building and our unit. The added bonus of laundry detergent and quarters for your first load was huge since we had just come from Disneyland and had lots of laundry to do. Mark also gave us some great restaurant and activity recommendations. Dinner at King's Fish House was a highlight. I went on several walks and always felt safe on the beach bath and around town. Lorrie was helpful and responsive to any questions or requests we had and I loved how quickly she always got back to me.
With a great location on the beach, awesome amenities throughout, close to the convention center in a vivacious town at such a great price we are looking forward to coming back!!
We were attending a conference at the convention center and what a great commute! It was only a 10-15 min walk along the sidewalk on the beach! Other things are a short drive away, although we found a donut shop within walking distance. We had our 2 beach bum kids under 10 with us and the beach was just great. The place was clean and is a lot bigger than it looks in the photos; lots of extra amenities (laundry stuff, popcorn, reusable grocery bags etc). Would have been nice to have some takeout menus of good places but we found some on yelp (highly recommend burgers from MVP Grill and breakfast at The Breakfast Bar). The bedrooms did get stuffy at nite - it was too noisy to open the side windows (beach front windows only) and the bathrooms could use a serious update. The parking is very tight but that's better than no parking at all (necessary at this place). We'd rent again if we were ever in Long Beach.
This apartment did not meet my expectations. Promoted as a Penthouse with views, this property is one apartment among a number on the 6th floor of this building. It does have beautiful views of the beach and ocean, and is a great location for enjoying the beach, but the building and the apartment is anything but deluxe. The apartment was well cared for and very clean, but clearly this is a 1960's structure that has been freshened up with white paint.. Bathrooms are dated, elvator is small, the beach side of the living room and the walkout deck have a slant to them that made me wonder how structurally sound the deck was( I am assuming its fine, but it didnt provide a secure feeling). I didnt expect the taj mahal for this price, but I expected more than we got and I felt the accomdations were only average. That being said I am not advising anyone to avoid this apartment, I'm just saying be prepared for a clean, well cared for apartment that is circa 1960. Please note that as well as the rent, this unit requires a damage fee that is not returned... This apartment is professioanlly managed and they did respond quickly to the repair request I made, however there is no warm and welcoming owner here.
This apartment just locates on the beach, which you can just enjoy the sea through elevator. Big size LED TV with kind preparation by Lorrie of DVDs for my son, he likes it very much. The groccery is quite enough for main food you would need for a short vacation, we drive to Walmart and Target, but finally found the recommended grocery is even better delivered (more choices especially for wines), the owner prepared a "discount card" which really saves a lot. There is parking space provided, I have no any problems to fit it with a medium-size SUV. We enjoyed a nice holiday. Thank you.
Long Beach is an ideal location for day trips up to LA and down to San Diego. Popular attractions such as Disneyland, Knotts Berry Farm, San Diego Zoo and Wild Animal Park, SeaWorld, Universal Studios, Hollywood, Rodeo Drive, Getty Museum, and much more are all close by.
