Hidden Valley Weekend
Our family had a great time at this charming cabin--very warm and comfortable. The owner was nice to work with, too. We especially loved fires in the big stone fireplace, family meals together at the long table that could accommodate all of us, and our many matches on the ping pong table! Nearby Laurel Hill State Park had some lovely hiking trails and a hemlock natural area. We had a wonderful and relaxing long weekend.
Whimsical wintery retreat
My family and I had a great stay in Hidden Valley. The home is very comfortable. The presence of hundreds of books, video tapes, DVDs, and CDs shows years of family fun. The house has two levels. The top floor has a wrap around porch, a spacious living/dining space with a fireplace and large screen TV, a dining room table with seating for about a dozen people, a full bathroom, a master bedroom (king sized bed), and a second bedroom with two twin sized beds. The lower floor also has a large room with a combination pool/ping pong table, a kitchenette area, and a second large screen TV with ample seating. The lower floor has a bathroom with a shower and two bedrooms. Each of the bedrooms has two bunk beds. The bunk beds have full sized beds on the bottom and twin sized beds on top. In total, the house can accommodate up to 16 people comfortably on eleven separate beds. Our only complaint of significance is that the house did not provide linens or towels. Since we were traveling from a considerable distance, this fact was a big letdown, particularly on the evening of our arrival. Since only two members of our larger group arrived on the first night, we were able to scrounge around and find enough sheets and towels to accommodate us while we contacted other group members to tell them to bring more linens. Separately, an admittedly minor point, we were annoyed that not even a first full roll of toilet paper was provided. We managed by running out to the grocery store, which is about 8 miles away, but it was a nuisance to be heading to the store so soon and so late in the evening. Despite these concerns, we thought the home provided good value. We simply wish the home's description had been more explicit about the common items (linens, towels, toilet paper) that are not provided.
Very nice, roomy cabin
The cabin was great for what I needed. Looks better in person than in pictures which never happens
Memorial Day Weekend 2017
Was visiting the area for a nearby wedding. The cabin had everything we needed! Plenty of parking and space for our large group. Manager was responsive and easy to work with. Would definitely recommend.
Very Pleasant Weekend
Overall, this is a lovely cabin with a homey atmosphere, a fully stocked kitchen, and comfortable common areas. There was plenty of parking, lovely surroundings, and the location was readily accessible on well-paved roads. The issue that we encountered was that the maintenance folks had forgotten to remove several trash bags from the front porch on their last visit, and that those bags had been torn open by what we assume to be raccoons. However, after we cleaned up the trash, we had a lovely weekend, and management responded promptly and refunded our cleaning fee for the trouble. Overall, I would recommend it as a place to stay for a nice, quiet weekend near a lovely park.
A group of 10 of us got together for a ladies weekend in this cute and cozy cabin for the weekend. We didn't really leave the property all weekend but the property wasin good condition and as pictured. The property manager was quick to answer any questions we had during the entire rental process and were very nice to do business with. I would highly recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a cute place to stay in this area.
