Welcome to The Oasis of Freedom. My Husband and I have lived in Taylor County, FL our entire lives. We have fished the coastline and can't imagine living anywhere else. We own Steinhatchee Bait and Tackle and I am a Realtor and Property Manager. We love helping folks visit and make some unforgettable memories. Whether you need to know the best food places, the local hideaway fishing spots, or where the scallops are being found while you are here, we can help. Give us a call or stop by the bait shop. We always encourage everyone that has never been here before to book a charter on day 1, not the last day. On Day 1 you can get a view of the area and the captain will show you around. After that you can take your boat or rent one and have a great time. The worst thing to do is come with the family and try to find everything yourself for 3 days and the family gets frustrated. This cute recently remodeled home sits behind the school and next to the Fire Department. Just 2 blocks from Maddie's Market where you can find all of your grocery store essentials and 2 blocks from the new Dollar General. (psst... we don't have a wal-mart) Just a 3 minute drive to the public boat ramp and Steinhatchee Bait and Tackle. You can walk most everywhere as the town is only 3 miles wide, but rent a golf cart from Puddin's Hatch Wagons to tool around town. Take a ride down Riverside Drive and see all the beautiful spots in the river that we love so much. Don't miss the gorgeous sunsets in the Roy's Restaurant Parking Lot. You'll get to meet the local Sunset Gang. Several folks ride down every day to take pictures, socialize and watch the best sunsets on the gulf coast.
