Private location and ideal family get-a-way cottage with 50 feet of frontage on Lake Salem. Offering 3 bedrooms upstairs plus bonus room off the master bedroom with two extra twin beds. Open living/dining/kitchen areas downstairs. Nice pine interior, and enclosed porch overlooking the lake with a great up close view. This cottage has three bedrooms, and one bath with a stand up shower. Our cottage offers three queen beds and four twin beds. We have all the amenities including stove, fridge, microwave, coffeemaker, gas grill, etc. We also have cable TV and now wireless internet. The beach area is great for small children as the water is shallow and warms quickly in the spring. Pedal boat, rowboat and canoe available for your use. This is an excellent lake for fishing and swimming, and is also gorgeous during fall foliage season. No smoking please.
This location was perfect for our week long trip. We had five members of the family staying and it worked out great. We enjoyed tremendous views and the lake while being able to travel to Montreal and Plattsburgh easily.
My sisters and cousins and I had a great time at the lake. Spent most of our days on the screened in porch. Puzzles, cards and domino games. Sleeping quarters were great, kitchen sufficient (we don't do much cooking) and the shower was great. The paddle boat was used and those using it enjoyed it. A great getaway for 5 senior ladies. Very quiet and peaceful.
My family had a great time at the Hammond's home on Salem. It was a private spot with a nice beach area for the kids. It is quite shallow for a long way out so the kids could play, explore the water, and kayak easily. Great fishing! The cottage has plenty of sleeping room. Everyone had a great time!
My family of 5 stayed at Matt's place the last two weeks of August. One of the most relaxing vacations I have had in years. The cottage had everything from the gas grill, fire pit, canoe, peddle boat, row boat and kayak. You could spend an week there without leaving the property. I was surprised at the size of the refrigerator, it was large enough to hold two weeks worth of food for my family of five. The shower was small, but what you'd expect to find at a lake cottage. My only concern and it is minor is that there weren't any large bowls for marinating.
Just recently returned from our family vacation at salem lake vermont. The boys and I enjoyed fishing, kayaking and canoeing. We also visited several other lakes in the area on short day trips. The North East Kingdom is a great place to vacation. The cottage was clean and well maintained. Lots of room upstairs for the boys to spread out. Dinners on the porch and one last fishing trip were the order of the day.
Amazing property. Plenty of room for large family or friends, yet cozy enough for two. Beautiful area with spectacular views from cottage, picnic table, or camp chairs of the lake. Peaceful and relaxing with the fall colors blending through. It was the perfect place to renew our wedding vows for our 10th anniversary! We totally recommend staying here and we hope to return for years to come.
Tucked in the woods along Lake Salem., but close to shopping, restaurants, and the downtown Newport area. Hiking and golfing nearby.
