I was struck by how beautiful and unique this home was, and how it is centrally located in Los Angeles. It's not far from the Studios, Downtown, Beverly Hills, Koreatown, Little Tokyo, and a variety of hot spots. Hollywood is an old area with a lot of history, personality and mystery. It is wildly diverse, and you can find whatever you want. There are urban streets, beautiful rows of old California Bungalows, right next to the peace of the hills.

Thank you very much for having let us stay in your beautiful, full of spirit house. It was a wonderful gift for us. We have adore adore to be here with Babette and Butch, your kindest cats. With regrets we have to leave...
The home was perfect for our family of five (Two adults, two teens and one pre-teen). I will admit at first I was slightly uncomfortable with the fact this was a home the owners actually lived in and many of their personal items were there, but I easily became used to it. The home was very clean and neat and the location was perfect. We were close to everything we wanted to do in the Los Angeles area and its close proximity to the highway made commuting easy. The neighborhood was a bonus I didn't expect. We were right in the middle of Hollywood history and being so close to the iconic Hollywood sign was a plus. We were fortunate to have great weather and morning walks were a great way to see the vintage homes and beautiful landscape. The owners were easy to communicate with and a pleasure to deal with. I would absolutely recommend this house to anyone visiting the area.
My family and I stayed at this property over Christmas 2015. It was very relaxing and had a beautiful view of Los Angeles. The listing description was accurate. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen was well stocked and the owners had a nice information book about LA with driving distances, etc. We had a few questions before and after we arrived and they always answered them right away. We had no problems, everything worked well and the house was very clean. For any families with younger children, they have a nice backyard with a swing set. There is a comfortable table and chairs outside under a tree to have meals. The only downside, if you were someone who wanted to go jogging from your front door, is that the location is in a beautiful hillside area of LA, but one with no sidewalks. The roads are a little narrow and curvy, but the hillside location means you get beautiful views from the back porch. We would not hesitate to stay here again.
This house was great. A beautiful home. Very spacious for our family of four. There is everything you need at the house, including a quiet backyard that is a perfect place to enjoy a meal. Best part of this house is the location! I loved where this house was. My husband and I had been to LA before (used to live there) and we went to show our kids the sights. I never wanted to leave the neighborhood! It is very convenient to everything we wanted to see-Venice Beach, Hollywood Boulevard, UCLA, Beverly Hills... The house is so close to the hustle and bustle that you expect to find in LA yet it is so peaceful and serene! The hiking trails are right there at the front door and they were magnificent! We drove to Runyon Canyon (also very close) but I enjoyed the scenery much better at the trails near the house. All the houses are beautiful! All so different and unique. It is like this secluded little spot, tucked away with marvelous views! A little grocery store was right at the bottom of the hill that was an easy walk from the house. Next door is a great little restaurant that we ended up in several times. Just such a gem of a location. I am so glad we found it. And thankful to the Patricks for opening up their beautiful home to us!
This was our second time to stay in this beautiful Beachwood home. We are a family of four and were very fortunate to first stay at this home in 2012. Our son will be attending USC and we came back to LA for orientation and felt very lucky that this home was available again! We love the home and all it's comforts. It has a fantastic view and we found staying "at home" was one of our favorite parts of the vacation. The owners are very trustworthy, responsive and helpful. Some of the wonderful features within walking distance are the Beachwood Café, grocery store and hiking around Lake Hollywood. All are within walking distance and we hiked, shopped and ate at the Café several times during the week. We have used VRBO many times and this is one of our favorites.
We cannot say enough about this experience from the time we placed the order until we left the property to return home. Our primary contact (Mary Kay) was so helpful and full of information regarding directions and sightseeing opportunities. This really helped us plan out our week before we even stepped on the plane.
This was our first family trip to the LA area so our primary focus were the typical tourist spots. The house being built on the side of the mountain provided a beautiful view of the landscape with the city on the distant horizon. The location was perfect - 15 minutes to Universal/Warner Bros, 10 minutes to the strip and museums, an hour to Disney and the ocean. It was originally suggested by the travel agent to use a Disney hotel and we are go grateful we found this place instead.
The house was clean, organized, and they provided a 'guide book' that detailed everything we needed to know about the house, along with emergency contacts. There was more than enough room for our family of five to sleep, eat, relax. When we arrived, there was a Christmas tree set up in the living room, lights on the deck, and a couple of goodies as a welcome present on the dining room table. This was a nice surprise for our kids who reluctantly assumed that we would not be celebrating Christmas this year. During the stay, we also received a couple of e-mails from Mary Kay with some 'secret' directions to be able to hike to a couple of interesting points throughout the park.
We would highly recommend this home to anyone else who may be planning a trip out that way.
My family and I stayed in this unique and beautiful home for a week's vacation in LA. Everything was just as advertised. There was clearly much love and thought put into the design and care of this home. It is beautifully appointed with everything we needed. There was plenty of space to cook, spread out and relax, with comfortable beds and linens and a great set-up for our family so each child could have his own room. We spent the mornings on the deck having the coffee left for us to enjoy while we overlooked the beautiful view. And we especially loved the Japanese bathroom and shower. The location was perfect allowing us to easily access all areas we visited while returning to a quiet, somewhat out-of-the-way neighborhood. A great way to enjoy the city but also feel like we could get away from it all and relax in the house. The owners were lovely to work with, provided very clear instructions and accommodated all of our needs. Thank you for the lovely gifts of wine and the book about Hollywood! We would absolutely recommend this house to anyone and look forward to returning for a future stay the next time we are in LA.
Completely private, quiet sanctuary yet only 5 minutes to the heart of Hollywood, with fabulous restaurants, clubs, movie theaters, live theaters, museums, fitness center and other activities.
Walk 100 feet up the street to a wooded path that leads down to the Hollywood Reservoir which is a beautiful 3 mile walk, or take another path past Madonna's house, to the best view of the Hollywood sign, to a dog and children's Park.
