|Minimum Stay||4 - 30 nights|
The Wrightsville Beach Magazine describe this home as 'Manhattan over the Hudson, Miami over the Biscayne, San Francisco over the Bay, very up tempo and, more importantly, unexpected'. Built in the 1930's the house was renovated in 2005, preserving the tongue-in-groove walls and pine floors in the guest bedrooms but updating the living areas to a more toney space.
The house is nestled in a quiet and quaint neighborhood on Harbor Island. Enjoy your coffee on the covered dock or head out on your boat (5 minutes to the Atlantic Ocean) to catch dinner. The dock will accommodate up to a 40 foot boat but be careful of the bridge clearance at high tide. A 5 minute boat ride will take you to the uninhabited, pristine Masonboro Island for shelling. Boat rentals are available close by.
The location is perfect for Stand up Paddle Boarding (SUP) or kayaking. For the beach goers, Wrightsville Beach is less than a ten minute walk via 'the Loop'. Great restaurants and shopping are close by on the island, at Lumina Station, Mayfair Town Center or downtown historic Wilmington.
Main Floor: Includes an open Living Room, Dining Room and Kitchen with awesome views of Banks Channel, Australian Cypress floors and large sliding glass doors opening to the covered deck. The living room has a 50' LCD television, surround sound stereo and a cozy gas fireplace. The designer kitchen includes a Wolf gas stove, beverage coolers and two drawer Fischer-Paykal dishwasher. The dining room can accommodate up to eight seated and the outdoor dining adds six more for entertaining. Grill out while your friends enjoy the views on the lanai furnished with a relaxing Pottery Barn sectional .
The main floor also has a powder room and two guest bedrooms with a shared bathroom. Bedroom #1 is spacious with a queen bed. Bedroom #2 has a double bed, tv and in-room vanity sink. They share a bathroom with a shower (no bathtubs in the home).
3rd Floor: The Master Suite is a dream getaway with panoramic views of Banks Channel and a sneak view of the Atlantic Ocean. The bathroom includes his and hers sinks and an oversized shower with multiple shower heads/jets. Step out to the porch and get into the hot tub for a relaxing soak with a glass of wine.
The home is not infant friendly (ie. no crib, high chair and lofty with stairs) and we do not rent to non-family members under the age of 35 years old.

We stayed here for a week in early May, and we were struck by the fantastic views of the intercoastal waterway (Banks Channel). Lisa has organized several different places throughout the house to sit and relax, and we enjoyed all of them. Mornings spent at the end of the dock watching the paddleboarders, lunches on the shaded deck, and evenings in the top-story hot tub added up to quite the memorable week in Wrightsville Beach. The sand is only a 10 minute walk away - bars and restaurants to the southeast and quiet beaches to the northeast. Lisa was great to work with and very helpful when I had questions during our stay. We look forward to returning to the area this summer!
My wife and I stayed here on the weekend of 11/2 through Monday 11/5/2012. We ended up getting there later on Friday night than we wanted, but we really enjoyed our stay at this home.
The kitchen and living area is modern, and the updates are very well done! Granite countertops, modern appliances, gas range (which I love!), large TV, with surround sound, nice dining area, as well as bar stools if you want to sit at the counter (which we did). The Master Bedroom is on the 3rd floor, well furnished, with a nice canopy bed. We both agreed that one of our favorite features of the house was the Master Bedroom shower - modern, nice, and plenty of "jets" in it. The mounted shower gel, shampoo dispenser was also great! (the dispensers should probably be marked though so that vacationers will know which dispenser is shower gel, which is shampoo, etc - that's my only complaint :)
The 2 downstairs bedrooms retain more of the original look of the home, which we also liked, because we like older homes! Great place, plenty of cooking utensils and cookware, you could easily arrive and not have to leave and just kick back and enjoy a great time lounging. We cooked at the house, and ate our supper on the deck. Nice neighborhood, friendly people on bikes/walking/running, all were friendly and cordial.
We did not go to the beach this particular weekend, so I cannot tell you how close or far it is to the beach, but I do not believe it is far at all. Shopping and restaurants and movies are close by (10 minutes or less), Harris Teeter is less than 5 minutes away if you need to run to the grocery because you forgot food.
A great little place to stay. Next time I'm in Wrightsville, I'll check with Lisa for availability!!!
Boat Slip will accommodate up to 30' Boat but beware of height limitations between two Banks Channel bridges.
