About Linda Desilets

We bought our vacation home on Juniper Drive in Naramata in 2009. We have fallen in love with the Naramata area so much that we purchased another home near by and are now full time Naramations.

Linda Desilets purchased this bungalow in 2009

Why Linda Desilets chose British Columbia

Our rental property sits in a forested area and has a beautiful view of the lake. We renovated most of the house when we bought in 2009. We added several decks to maximize outdoor enjoyment. There is a mature grape arbour, fruit trees, walking paths and lots of privacy on this property. Listen to the babbling creek below and the birds above and enjoy the experience of being in a private location in Naramata.

What makes this bungalow unique

We take pride in keeping the home clean and well maintained. The kitchen is well equipped for cooking all meals. We hope you enjoy staying in our house, where you are the only occupants. Please read our reviews from other travellers. Our past guests enjoyed their vacation at Hummingbird Haven.

Guestbook comments from the owner

What a beautifully located, equipped and comfortable house. Everything for the comfort of the guests has been thought and done. Credit to Linda and Scott. We did not miss home as we relaxed, sipped, walked, toured this great location. Hope to return soon.

Better than expected

  • 5 of 5

I will start with the only negative I have, that is, the refund of the damage deposit. I wish that VRBO would notify(by email) once the refund is made. This improvement would make things easier for seniors like me.

'Better than expected' really is heartfelt. It was a joy in communicating with Linda and Scott. Once we got there, the property was neat on the outside, clean on the inside(this was the first property that we did not have to wash dishes etc. before use), all appliances and utensils were first class. Linda and Scott thought of everything including extra toothbrushes in case you forgot yours. The location was ideal in that the property had views of the lake through the evergreens. We will return.

Additional to above, we had the pleasure to meet Linda and Scott. A real nice couple that are friendly, easy to talk to and very considerate for their guests' comfort. Thanks Linda and Scott for the pleasure.

Catherine and John

Owner's Response: Updated reply: Hi John, Thank you for contacting me to let me know your deposit was returned onto your credit card two days after your departure. As you don't do online banking you had to wait for your statement to come in the mail before you knew the actual date it was returned. Original reply: Hi John and Catherine, It was a pleasure to have you as our guests. Thank you for your glowing review of our property. We do our best to make it clean and comfortable for your vacation. We want our guests to come back again! As for the refund of the damage deposit - I initiate the return through VRBO as soon as cleaning is completed when guests leave. It should take 5 to 7 days to go back onto the credit card used when the booking is first made. We hope to have you back again on your next trip to Naramata, B.C.

Naramata Vacation Home 297734

  • 5 of 5

Our family of four adults and two children stayed at this property for a week in August.

Location is close to all the areas for wine tasting and lunches on some lovely patios.

Manitou beach is a 5 minute drive and worked well if you have small children.

Kitchen is very well equipped and has everything you need for cooking.

Penticton is a 15 minute drive away and offers , jazz festivals, restaurants, and beaches.

If you are interested in golf, hiking, biking and pickleball a good place to be.

We enjoyed our stay and and recommend staying here.

Fabulous stay!

  • 5 of 5

My family of four and dog stayed at Linda and Scott's property for a week in Aug 2016. The location of the home and views were amazing. The house was clean, spacious, and very well equipped with everything we needed and more. Our vacation was memorable and relaxing. Some highlights included a bike ride on the KVR trail, lunch at Lake Breeze, wine tasting, beach trip and visit to Linden Gardens. We would highly recommend staying here!

Ideal property in Naramata

  • 5 of 5

Just like the listing says, this property was peaceful and private, with beautiful lake views. From the house, from the decks and the lower patio, we enjoyed viewing the lake, the trees, the birds and the night sky. It was nice just to look at forest below the property, as oppose to rooftops, and there is also a creek below which was pleasant to hear. Even though there are houses on either side, this property felt very private for relaxing outdoors.

There were lots of great morning walks to do from the house, including easy access to the KVR trail. We also found a nice loop down the Old Main Rd., through town, then back up along lower Debeck Rd (vineyards, orchards, woods, stunning properties and so on.) Great for the dog in the morning before it got too hot. The kids generally rode their bikes to the beach at Manitou, but pretty steep coming back up the hill (it was easy to just put them on the car rack at the end of the day.)

During out two week stay, we enjoyed day trips to Penticton (great sandy beach, Saturday morning market, etc.); Summerland (Rotary beach in lower town is fun, Summerland Sweets with a walk over the KVR trestle bridge is lovely in the evening); nice drive down to Oliver and Osoyoos, with a stop at the Desert Centre; cycling the KVR was spectacular, particularly between the little tunnel and Penticton. Mostly we just enjoyed relaxing days in Naramata, going to the beach, renting paddleboards, playing Frisbee, visiting wineries, etc.

The house truly does have everything you need, very clean with comfortable furniture and beds (nice king in the master bedroom.) The hosts were a pleasure to deal with and we would definitely consider returning to this property next year. Thank you!

We just returned from a great week in Naramata. The house was spacious, clean and the grounds are very well kept. The home is located on a quiet street half way up the bench and is very private. I loved the extra touches that made a real difference (toiletries, book shelf for the long evenings over looking the lake). We certainly plan to return!
