About Erin Bosman

Erin and Kevin Bosman were both born and raised in Door County and are proud to call it there home. They live in Sturgeon Bay in a old farm house that Kevin is restoring. Kevin works in one of the barns at home as a yacht painter. They share the old farmstead with their 2 cats and 2 Bernese Mountain dogs, Gerta and Kuno. Erin owns the store, Patricia Shoppe, that is next door to the cottage and was voted one of Door County's top boutiques.

Erin Bosman purchased this cottage in 2008

Why Erin Bosman chose Egg Harbor

In 2008 our neighbors stopped by the shop and asked if we would be interested in buying their cottage- we did not hesitate, of course we did! We knew it had been taken very good care of and had always admired its charm. We knew it would make a perfect vacation rental, as it has great location and is the perfect size. Being right next door at the shop everyday I can take good care of our guests, offering them help with their vacation needs. This little place of ours does not bring us a fortune, but helps pay the mortgage and we love that people want to come and enjoy this peninsula we call home.

What makes this cottage unique

Backyard BBQ's, campfires under the stars, bike rides to the beach, a morning walk with the dog to the coffee shop, an evening sunset concert, reading a book on the daybed- these are all the things our guests write about in our guest book. Our cottage is your home away from home, bring the pets and the kids, or not, and enjoy all that Door County offers right out your front door.

Great cottage location.

I'm always a bit concerned at what will actually be found that is possibly much different than what is described online. This listing is pretty accurate. It is an old cottage, but in fairly decent shape for it's age. It was clean and everything we needed was there. Plenty of room for us and another couple with more room to spare if needed... Erin is nearby, very personable and willing to help with anything that is needed. It is walking distance to stores, restaurants and everything else you might need. I wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

Lovely Getaway Cottage

  • 5 of 5

While we've made a couple of day trips up to Door County, we've never spent any real time there. So we decided to take a chance on the springtime scene of Door County and found this place in Egg Harbor. This lovely cottage was a wonderful place to stay. Warm and inviting, comfortable beds and plenty of room for the 3 of us, along with our dog. The cottage is close enough to downtown Egg Harbor to walk to almost everything. While right on Hwy 42, the landscaping provides plenty of privacy. And if you have multiple cars, there's plenty of places to park. We plan to return, and we would highly recommend this cottage for a trip to Door County!

Quaint and Cozy

  • 4 of 5

We truly enjoyed our stay at the cottage. This was our 9th year visiting Door County in the Fall, but our very first time staying in Egg Harbor. It was wonderful to be able to walk to so many great restaurants and shops without having to drive or figure out where to park. We really appreciated that the cottage is dog-friendly for our Labradoodle, Gibson, who also really enjoyed the dog park that was also within a very short walking distance. Everything we needed to make our stay enjoyable at the cottage was pretty much available to us. Nothing fancy, but it was clean and comfortable and we felt safe and relaxed during our stay. We will definitely consider staying here again during one of our next trips back to Door County!

Girls Weekend

  • 3 of 5

We (4 women) had a long weekend at this cottage in early September. We rated the property 3 stars, or average, based on a few items. It was very convenient to walk into town for coffee, dining, shopping, the spa, and sightseeing. (We would recommend the Chocolate Chicken for coffee!) The beds and furnishings were comfortable, and it provided enough room for all 4 of us. As described, the cottage is quaint, but it needs a few updates and repairs. Since the windows do not open, the first thing we noticed upon entering was a certain 'stuffy' odor. We tried to remedy this with several air fresheners and keeping the front door open; however, the front screendoor has several tears, which allow the bugs and gnats to come in, especially when the lights are on inside. It just would have been really nice to take advantage of the nice fresh air from outside. It was convenient to have a kitchen to make a few meals, but it was lacking what we considered a few essentials. We finally found one potholder (would be nice to have two), but no dishrags. All of the appliances were in working order, but the kitchen curtain kept falling down, and the table really needed a good scrubbing (lots of food debris in the cracks). We did enjoy all of our outings in Door County!

Owner's Response: So sorry the cottage lacked a few things. As we alwlays tell our guests we are right next door to supply you with any of your needs, chances are that the kitchen supplies were being washed & we would have happily found more pot holders, rags for you. Also we would remedy any cleanliness problems right away if we would have been informed. The windows are being replaced in the spring of 2016 so that will not be an issue any more. Glad you girls had fun.

Lovely Cottage

  • 5 of 5

The stay couldn't have been better! The cottage was surprisingly spacious and included many decorative touches which made us feel at home. It was so much fun to bring our yellow lab with us, and the property was very dog-friendly and close to everything! We enjoyed many pleasant walks to the harbor, the beach and the shops. The main street market was right near by and had all the grocery and specialty items you could ask for, which made cooking at the cottage a great option for some of the meals. I hope we will be able to come back for another stay!!!
