This little guest cottage is mountain style dressed up with modern day decor and features a convenient little kitchenette, complete with dishes, cooking utensils and a small fridge. The cozy living area is complete with a queen bed, a wardrobe housing a flat screen TV, a rocking chair and lamps on end tables. The bath area has a unique yesteryear claw foot tub, just like the good old days (not to worry, it has a long shower handle for those longing for a shower not from yesteryear!). The loft area has a sitting area over looking the creek, a double bed and a chest of drawers. This cabin is comfy and cozy for two, but welcomes up to 2 adults and 2 kids. And the kids will truly be one with nature (as will you) with acres to explore, frogs to find, birds to watch, stones to skip ... the list goes on and on.

The front porch is covered so you can sit on the swing and listen to the birds singing and expect a lot of flying wildlife on property! The deck is complete with a newly installed hot tub for you to take in the stars while relaxing alongside your 800 feet of Little River frontage access! There is also an outdoor table and chairs to dine out.

The property has so much to offer. You can take a walk around the property (11 full accessible acres) or hike through the surrounding woods and beautiful seasonal flowers can be found all over the property for your enjoyment. Picnic spots are also available throughout the property to rest your legs or simply sit to enjoy your own slice of mountain life. You might see some wildlife, as there is an abundance and the area land is not as developed as other towns. There are also two ponds on your property! Tube down the lazy creek or stroll through the vegetable garden, relax, sit back, take a load off, you have earned it. You deserve it!

You are sure to find something that will be a memory to take home. "Calming, stress relieving, and peaceful." These are the words we hear time and time again to describe this beautiful well-maintained, gated and secluded property.

You are invited to visit our little piece of heaven, and feel free to bring your pet (with approval) - you'll be glad you did!!!

The cabin was ok

  • 1 of 5

The place was nice but with a 4 pm check in and a 10 am check out plus the cleaning fee is a little outrageous for a 1 night stay. You just don't have time to enjoy the property

Owner's Response: Hi Alison! We agree that a one night stay is not long enough to truly enjoy Little River Honeymoon Cabin, as it is such a wonderful property. However, next time you want more time at a rental, call your caretaker and ask for an early check-in or a late check-out (like you would at a hotel), both could have been approved in your case. It all depends on when the previous guests depart, the next group is set to arrive, and when the cleaners are scheduled to clean between guests. Or, stay 2 nights to truly enjoy the property, as you stated. We pride ourselves in being one of only a few cabins that allow one-night weekend stays, but the overhead associated with a cabin rental doesn't change if you stay one night or two. We still have to have it professionally cleaned and we still need the hot tub serviced. We simply want Little River to be an option for those couples that can only get away for 1 night and they can decide themselves if having a hot tub, multiple fire pits (with wood provided), 800 feet of riverfront, ponds, gated privacy, benches, a hammock, outdoor furniture, hiking trails, solitude, peace and quiet adds enough value to take into account the overhead being absorbed by only a one night stay. Our other 1-night visitors have been ecstatic because it kept them out of a hotel, usually their only other option.

adorable romantic scenic cabin!

  • 5 of 5

My husband surprised me with a night away to this wonderful cabin. We loved the sound and beauty of the creek, watching the ducks, checking out the fish in the pond, the hot tub, hammick and trails on this beautiful 11 acres. We even picked strawberries from the garden which were delicious! The cabin was really cute, romantic, and accommodating. We plan to return.

Perfect Honeymoon Cabin

  • 5 of 5

Words cannot do this cabin justice. My husband and I celebrated out 10 year wedding anniversary there just a few weeks ago. It snowed before we got there and while we were there. The property is unbelievable covered in snow. Everything is so beautiful. The inside of the cabin is so comforting and kept us close to each other the whole weekend. The bathtub is so relaxing. Nothing could have made this weekend any better. Mrs. Connie was a pleasure to work with even when I had to change dates at the last minute due to work. We hope to make our anniversary a tradition at this perfect cabin.

Our nearby town is Boone, NC and the home of Appalachian State University. Boone has the main grocery stores and shopping centers. The outskirts of town has many interesting activities. Valle Crucis Park and Mast Store, Tweetsie Railroad, Cove Creek Store and the many streams and Watauga River, for fishing. Restaurants are plenteous and delicious here in the High Country. We have ponds and waterfalls in the area as well. The Skiing is great in the high country as well, we have Sugar Mountain, Beech Mountain, and Appalachian ski slopes. Also, nearby we have beautiful Watauga Lake. Antiquing, site seeing, gem mining, white water rafting, so many fun things. High Country and our beautiful Mountains is a must see.
