Boothbay Harbor Area House Rental Photos and Description

House, 3 Bedrooms, 3 Baths

We are a true water front property facing John's Bay and the open Atlantic Ocean with spectacular Western Sunsets. Although we TOTALLY remodeled the house in late 2008 we have decided to take it to yet another level. After listening to our valued clients we installed a whole house water filtration system designed by MIT engineers and MIT chemists that are used on nuclear subs. In May 20015 we finished ripping the top floor apart and adding a large bath room above the existing kitchen. It features a big shower, his & her vanities and a whirlpool tub with ocean views. There is a see through fireplace to the bedroom. Both bedrooms are DOUBLE in size and feature a sitting area with large flat screen TV's, floor to ceiling glass windows and doors and private champagne balconies. Both bedrooms have their own closets and baths. The downstairs master had the ceiling slope eliminated and new floor to ceiling windows plus a door to the deck to access the new....6 person hot tub spa!!!! Imagine sitting in the spa with a libation watching the western sunset while the tunes play on the outside speakers. The living room furniture has been upgraded to genuine leather furniture and new tables. The whole house has been converted to central gas heat and central AIR CONDITIONING!!!! No more stuffy nights. We also have a gas WHOLE house generator to insure you have no vacation power interruptions. The grill has also been plumbed in for your enjoyment, no tanks to swamp. A new lawn and grass patio/driving range have been built down by the new hammock. Upon entering you will be treated to our expansive 'wall of glass' water view. Sitting on the western side of Pemaquid Point you will look out across John's Bay at Miles Tower and over 1000 lobster pot buoys which are harvested in the morning. Keep an eye out for seals, dolphins and minke whales off shore. We have a huge "pet" Bald Eagle named Uncle Sam who sits in the evergreen 40 feet from the second floor balcony looking down on the spa. Evening brings spectacular western sunsets. Looking southwest you will see the open ocean and islands named Threads of Life and Thumb Cap. Enjoy all this from the 33 X 12 deck, featuring a 12 X 12 motorized retractable awning, gas grill, wall lanterns, Adirondack chairs and stereo speakers.

Take 4 steps down to the new lawn and walk just 40 feet to the shore. Located here you will find a big fire pit for cool night gatherings. Inside the open floor plan was designed for entertaining and easy vacation living. The kitchen features quartz counter tops, stainless steel appliances including a GAS stove/oven, a glass front wood burning stove, walk in pantry and spectacular water views. We have added a breakfast table and chairs. The living and dining area feature local art with matching nautical decor, Samsung 55"flat screen TV, stereo sound system and a beautiful wood burning stone fireplace. The first floor master bedroom features 'the room with a view' where you will sit up in bed and see the water everywhere. This bedroom also features a queen size bed, walk in closet and flat screen TV. On the main floor there is a large bathroom with a bath tub/shower and a separate laundry. Upstairs there are 2 bedrooms. One has a king bed and the other has a double bed plus bunk bed, living area and balcony. Every room has large ceiling fans and the original gorgeous, wide, Maine Pumpkin Pine floors. Every appliance is new as are the electrical and plumbing fixtures. Recessed lights abound and every light switch has a dimmer allowing you to set the mood.

The home is located in the upscale Seawood Park featuring safety for all and beautiful walking paths. The property is surrounded with tall fir trees and abundant wild roses, raspberries and lilacs to insure privacy while you enjoy over 1200 feet of oceanfront. Near the flag pole you will find lobster traps and buoys that have washed up on our shore. We are very near Shaw's restaurant where they filmed 'Message In A Bottle'. Here you can buy lobster right off the boat. The famous Pemaquid Point Lighthouse is just down the road. Make plans now to visit this beautiful piece of paradise and make beautiful memories for you and yours. Cleaning fees, linens, taxes and firewood are included. We are the house with the red front doors! Be sure to scroll all the way down to see all the great photos. You have seen the rest, now stay at the best! Don't settle for no western sunset, hot, stuffy, moldy and old when Seas The Day still has vacancies. We tend to fill up a year in advance with repeat clients. Our week runs Saturday to Saturday as flight service is limited on Sunday. All short term rentals include cleaning, linen, taxes, towel service and firewood. We do NOT do short term rentals as our cleaning, linen & towel service and caretaking fee is fixed.

About The Owner

Although we make our home in Nashville Tennessee, we have rented 2-3 times a year through VRBO for the past 8 years. Through our wonderful experiences we learned what we needed, wanted and really appreciated in a vacation rental. In 2008 we decided to cross over to 'the other side' and become owners. We looked at southeast beach properties and Rocky Mountain ski resorts. In the end we fell in love with the breathtaking coast of Pemaquid Point Penninsula in New Harbor Maine. We tell our friends and family 'our vacation home is up in the middle of the woods on the ocean in Maine'. It truly is the best of all worlds. All the benefits of the ocean (can you say lobster?!) without the stifling heat. As an avid runner Bon loves logging the miles on the quiet tree lined roads while Bill fishes for striper and blues off the rocky outcropping on the beach. The kids explore the bay and outer islands by kayak looking for seals. We all love walking down to the lighthouse and having breakfast in the restaurant while watching the crashing surf. And of course there are the morning coffee, and evening cocktail walks along the groomed shore path. So calming, so peaceful, so absolutely wonderful. We have done absolutely everything possible to make our home exactly how we would want a rental for our family. We book solid, with many repeat clients, up to a year in advance as many folks book the next year upon check out.

Why The Owner chose Boothbay Harbor Area

You have looked at or even stayed at the rest, now stay at the best! If you want THEE best view and a clean and crisp home this is the one for you. In the winter of 2016 we sealed the basement walls and floor and run a dehumidifier 7/24. When you open the basement door take a big sniff, nice and fresh and this carries over to the whole house! many houses up here smell musty and moldy. Bill is very allergic to mold so all the furniture, window treatments and hardwood floors as opposed to carpet make our home crisp and clean.

What makes this house unique

April, our meticulous cleaning team leader, is married to Shaun the Lobstahman. he delivers fresh out of the water to the door live or steamed (not boiled) seven days a week cheaper than Subway sandwiches. And David Cheney delivers the best oysters in America to the door and puts on a shucking demonstration. Then there is the ocean front spa for 6 with our spectacular sunsets. Oh, the hammock too and life on the deck.

"Seas the Day" better then ever

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I recently enjoyed our fourth stay at Seas the Day. The changes Bill made are unbelievable. If you like falling to sleep with the sounds of the waves. If you enjoy relaxing in a hot tub, or just watching the lobster boats pick up the days catch this is the place for you. The master suite is as good as it gets. All new appliances in the kitchen and of course Wifi for those of us who need to be connected. If you also a fan of sunsets look no futher for a spot to go to. The onwers have spared no expense and are very accommodating, always available never intruding. Thanks Bill & Bon.

Pure relaxation!

  • 5 of 5

This was our third year at SEAS THE DAY and cannot say enough about the property. This year the incredible renovations make an already beautiful home really over the top! You can tell the owners really love this home...the improvements would make anyone want to make the trip to Maine and forget to leave.

The new upstairs master is sensational, the glass windows and upstairs balconies are wonderful and the incredible master bathroom is luxurious to say the least. There are plenty of spaces to sit and relax both inside and out. We love the fire pit and the new hot tub and made sure to use both often during our stay. The week was everything we look forward to each year...just relaxing and listening to the ocean, watching the lobster boats go by and listening to the seagulls.

Apart from the deck, my favorite part is the kitchen. It is well equipped and makes cooking meals a breeze. They installed top of the line appliances this past year and it makes cooking during my vacation a pleasure.

We can't wait to come again next year.

Owner's Response: Thank you for the kind words. It is repeat clients like you that keep us motivated and focused on constantly upgrading. Since you left we replaced the pots and pans, the hammock, more landscaping and accent lights for the deck steps to the spa. We also had a professional photographer come Wednesday and the photos will be on the website next week showing the 2015 renovation and new furnishings. Wishing you Seas The Day dreams!

Carpe diem

  • 5 of 5

This is an incredible property. We found the house incredibly comfortable. As others have noted, it is wonderful to be able to hear the gentle sounds of the waves lapping the shore, to loose oneself in the rhythm of the ocean sounds-- seagulls, loons, lobster boats. The owner is most accommodating, the property clean and well cared for. While Maine is far from San Diego-- and we love the Pacific Ocean-- we hope to return to this beautiful home.

Owner's Response: Thank you Scott! We are always pleased when new clients travel so far and feel the stay at our little piece of paradise was worth the trip. We sincerely hope that all the friends that visited you, and of course you, will return soon as you were very considerate guests. Here is wishing you and yours Seas The Day dreams. B&B

Seas the Day, now Seize the new improvements!

  • 5 of 5

This was our second year at Seas The Day and enjoyed 2 weeks of bliss. We knew of the improvements that had been completed over the winter but were impressed beyond words with the upgrades. I didn't think that the view could be improved, but with the upstairs balconies and glass EVERYWHERE in all the bedrooms, the VIEW is magnificent from every angle. The hot tub outside, big gas grill and water system extraordinaire, are wonderful additions to an already wonderful vacation home. The only bad thing was that my reading was interrupted with my constant looking at the ocean or enjoying the flat screen TVs everywhere. I brought all those unread books back home. If you are looking for the perfect spot on the coast of Maine, look no further. SEAS the DAY translates to ENJOY the DAY no matter what the weather in this upgraded vacation haven.

Owner's Response: Ed and Nancy, Thank you for the kind words. We were delighted you could expand your one week stay to two weeks. It tickles us when repeat clients get to experience the before and after effect of the 2015 2nd renovation.

Seize your vacation at Seas the Day

  • 5 of 5

Our family loves the Pemaquid Point area, secluded yet with one of the most visited lighthouses on the coast. We looked for a location to watch the sunset and handle our family, including our 2 year old Grandson. A yard was important! The house was perfect, with two floors, allowing privacy for our daughter and family, and our needs. We love to eat in, so the connection for seafood to our door, couldn't have made life any easier. A real "hometown" grocery store called Reilly's is a short distance. The attention to detail, the art, the interior decoration, made this house pleasant and pleasing to the eye. I can't imagine anything to improve it.Working with the owners, now friends was an extra plus.

Heaven on Earth

  • 4 of 5

This lovely home is tucked away in a fairly secluded neighborhood off the beaten track and with an awesome view of the humbling ocean. The digs were extremely comfortable and the newly remodeled upstairs was sensational. We were 2 couples so the layout provided for full privacy and comfort. The oyster and lobster delivery services were as promised and delectable. The location allows access to Boothbay Harbor, Camden, etc (about an hour away) or stay-at-home, lazy days on the hammock. Thanks to Bill (who we were lucky enough to meet and spend time with!!!) and Bon (who we feel like we met through Bill) for making our Maine getaway so memorable.
