About John & Kathy Haley

We have the best of both worlds, a home in Alaska and one in Texas. We love to travel with family as well as get away to a secluded place just to be with each other. Our Waco home is a wonderful place to do both,

John & Kathy Haley purchased this house in 1995

Why John & Kathy Haley chose Waco

We inherited this property from my husbands Father. We so love Waco that we have kept it. Recently, we completely renovated this home, adding AC, new wiring as well as internet and cable connections. Beautifully handcrafted maple cabinets now grace the kitchen. When we finished, we so loved the result, we wanted to be able to spend time there ourselves. We decided to rent it out in a different manner, so we could take advantage of staying there when we visited Texas and share the comfort of our home with others, when we are not able to be there.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Was notified very timely with acceptance of dates needed. Upon stepping though front door was surprised with a delightful home. This house is in a nice neighborhood. Five woman stayed the weekend here and had ample supply of thick, soft towels for showering in the two showere. We had everything we needed in this home. The owners have thought of everything, including extra fans in closet if needed for white noise. The bedding was also extremely nice. All around great home.

My mom sisters and myself stayed at the Haley House for a birthday get away for mom. The house was so beautiful and welcoming...true to all the shared photos. We had everything we needed to have the perfect weekend. Kathy was a joy to work with. The house's location was central and made getting around a breeze. Loved our time spent here...such a blessing!!

Very cozy home and wonderful owners

  • 5 of 5

We loved the house very much . It was so nice and cozy and made us feel very welcomed, it even had everything we needed to bring our pups along.

The owner , Kathy, is just a wonderful person! We had to evacuate from hurricane Harvey and Kathy made sure we had a place to stay. We will forever be grateful for her hospitality.

Precious house, great location

  • 5 of 5

We spent 3 nights at the Haley House. It felt very homey, exceptionally clean, very comfortable, safe neighborhood, close to all the Waco attractions. Kathy was a joy to talk to. Most importantly, our dog loved it too!!

Owner's Response: Hello Karen, So glad that you enjoyed your time at the Haley House. I love it when the furry member of the family enjoys being there as much as the human guests. It is our aim to make it a "home away from home" and a place of solitude and peace in the middle of a busy city. We hope you will be able to return again in the future. Blessings! Kathy & John

Wonder in Waco

  • 5 of 5

We absolutely loved staying in this quiet little neighborhood. Kathy and John are wonderful and it was a delight getting to know them. Their home is just outside Waco and is a step back in time. Beautiful antiques are found throughout this home. The kitchen was great, nicely renovated and had everything thing we needed to prepare our own meals, which is important to us as Optimal Health Coaches. The beds are super comfortable after a day of travel. The backyard backs up to a small creek and we watched the fire flies dance at sunset. So peaceful. We felt like we were home.

Getting in a morning run was a bit of a challenge as the streets are narrow and there are no trails. But we managed through the neighborhood.

It was a straight shot into Waco, about 10 mins, down Franklin Ave to the Silo's, Dr Pepper and several other areas of interest in downtown.

Baylor is on the other side of the freeway, less then a 5 min drive.

We passed over the beautiful Brazos River as we drove into town. The Chisholm Trail and old suspension bridge are about a 15 min drive through town.
