As part of a former winegrower’s property in the middleaged town of Turckheim, our cottage consists of a living and dining room, with kitchenette and a bedroom. It is furnished with local wooden furniture and decorated in blue and white. There is a bathroom with shower, a balcony of 12 sq.m with a dining area and two comfortable deckchairs. You also dispose of a shady terrasse and a closed parking lot. Though in the middle of the old town, the situation is exceptionally quiet. At 10 o’clock p.m., the last nightcryer in France sings his old traditional song under your bedroom window. All shops, restaurants and wine cellers are reachable within a 5 minutes walk. Turckheim is an excellent point of departure for cultural visits. Strasbourg, Freiburg and Basel are at about 65 km away.

A welcoming stay in an ideal place
This was the second time we stayed at this cottage in Turckheim. We enjoyed it, as a place to stay, every bit as much as the first time.
The cottage is outfitted with everything a person could want for a week stay: plenty of room for two, plenty of electronics, an excellent wifi, , laundry facilities, and all of the cooking equipment a person could wish for. Not that a lot of cooking is required given the restaurants, food shops and bakeries available within easy walking distance.
The owners are pleasantly personable and helpful, and are easily available. They speak excellent English, although English is the exception rather than the rule in local shops.
Turckheim is a lovely, small town and it makes an excellent base for exploring nearby villages. We visited in September when there are wine festivals and markets. We can wholeheartedly recommend the cottage, Turckheim, and the region.
Dear Jim and Roz,
Thank you for your kind comments on our little cottage!
We do our best in order for our guests to feel comfortable and have a nice and quiet stay in Alsace. Turckheim is a great place to discover: it has still the romantic touch of alsacian medieval villages.
We hope we will see you again another time in Turckheim!

I will keep this short and sweet........................Anyone who rents this property, for whatever reason, as a base or just a quiet re-charge will NOT be dissapointed....................a lovely cottage in a lovely town in a wonderful part of France
A wonderful place for a relaxing holiday.
We have just returned from a fortnight here and can honestly report that it was a really lovely place to stay, and a great base for touring the region. The owners could not have been more welcoming and helpful (including the chilled local wine to greet us).
The apartment is ideal for couples, sensibly furnished and with everything you could need for a relaxing break. Whilst enjoying fine weather we ate on the balcony most days as it was so quiet and peaceful.
Turckheim is a very quiet village, but with all the amenities needed for a self-catering break. There are bigger stores in Colmar and it all made for an easy holiday. The village boulangeries sell typically delicious breads and pastries and there are a number of excellent local restaurants. We particularly enjoyed the italian restaurant on the main street.
We would highly recommend this property.
Great holiday base
We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday and found this very well equipped cottage an excellent base for touring the Vosges Mountains, the beautiful villages and even a corner of the Black Forest. There is some splendid walking in the area and some good restaurants within walking distance for later relaxation. We particularly liked Caveau le Chemin de Ronde - pity we couldn't eat outside on a lovely evening. Renate is a charming hostess without being pushy.
Until nowadays Turckheim has conserved its middle age image. The ancient winegrower’s town is still surrounded by the 13th century town wall. All alsacian delights like its famous wines, its worldwide known “fine cuisine”, its romantic little villages, its roman churches, its hiking tracks in the mountains, all this is at your doorstep in Turckheim.
