About Jon and Carol Davis

Jon and Carol Davis. My wife and I bought this condo eight years ago. We fell in love with Sandpoint the first time we saw it. I was looking for an all season sports with good skiing, hiking and fishing -- and you can't find a better spot than Sandpoint, Schweitzer Mountain, the Sellkirks and Lake Pend Oreille to provide high quality in all those areas. My wife was looking for a bit of culture (arts, music, dining) and we found that at Sandpoint as well with superb restaurants, art galleries and the renowned annual Sandpoint Summer Festival and the Wooden Boat show -- we found this to be an incredible place.

Jon and Carol Davis purchased this condo in 2007

Why Jon and Carol Davis chose Lake Pend Oreille

We chose to buy on the mountain, because we wanted to be able to walk to the ski lifts during the winter months and in the summer -- a place where we could easily drive to town and the lake. The condo is big and we have enjoyed it immensely for both summer and winter family vacations. For us, the mountain location gave us everything we needed (not to mention spectacular views) to enjoy everything Schweitzer and Sandpoint offered.

What makes this condo unique

I've skied all over the world, but have never found a place like Schweitzer. Short lift lines, fantastic snow and in my mind the best tree skiing anywhere on the planet. This place is a real treat for skiers of all ability brackets. They also have some great cross-country and snow shoe trails that my wife and I enjoy that we can walk to from the condo. In the summer, great fishing can be found on the mountain (hike up to one of the alpine stocked lakes) or drive to Lake Pend Oreille for trophy trout fishing or drive a short distance to fish the many streams in the area. Sometimes we like to take the lifts up to the top of the mountain and hike the many trails back down to the village where the condo and hot-tub awaits!

This is a very lovely lodging! Entry with snow and mud room with attached hot tub room, plenty of space to hang wet cloths and wall heaters to dry them out while you soak in a nice cedar lined hot tub room! The main floor is open, TV and DVD with lots of interesting movies if you are going to just lie back. Nice kitchen with everything you need for basic cooking. Lovely master upstairs with king bed; and three rooms down for kids and others. Very comfortable and nicely kept! Only a short walk to the Lodge for you morning Latte. Had a lovely stay; able to put my rig in the garage when we arrived as near foot of snow our first night! Highly recommend this lodging! Plus was a kids 'short room' off to the side where they could hang with games and movies. Good layout for several folks to enjoy

Amazing Location and Beautiful Condo!

  • 5 of 5

This was a lovely place to vacation! The condo is beautiful, amazing, very clean, and HUGE! It can comfortably sleep 12 if there are couples that share two of the beds. The house is very well taken care of and is beautiful. The hot tub was nice to come home to after a long day exploring the area and I can image it would be blissful after a long day of skiing!

We were here in the summer and there are so many things to do. It is only 50 minutes to Silverwood Theme Park and about an hour from Coeur D'Alene. I would absolutely stay here in a heartbeat and hope to return again in the future!

The owner was very responsive to my texts and I booked the condo very last minute and Jon was very accommodating. I love supporting a military family as well, so you can't go wrong staying here!

Stunning, well appointed condo, walking distance to Schweitzer Mountain

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I were on a last minute road trip. It was late summer and we had never been to the Sand Point area. Jon and Carol Davis were very easy to work with, extremely attentive and our stay was flawless. We choose this property based on the photos and were quite surprised to find everything surpassed our expectations. Walking distance to the mountain. Huge private jacuzzi. We loved everything about the condo and the Sand Point area, will be coming back for sure!

Great skin cabin with good parking and room for many!

  • 5 of 5

The ski cabin turned out to be larger than expected, and exceeded our expectations! It has 1 roomy master bedroom (with King bed) on the top floor, and 3 bedrooms on the bottom floor. On the bottom floor there is a bathroom to share, a room with a queen bed and two singles, a double bunk room (to sleep 4), and a room with a full/queen size bed all by itself. The kitchen is well-stocked with all utensils/dishware/bakeware you may need. The table has seating for 6, and it opens into the living room with comfy couches. There parking is in the garage (street level) and there is a large entryway to get you out of the snow (in winter), as well as a separate room for hanging/storing all of your sports equipment. That room opens up into an additional room with the hot tub--which is large enough for a good sized group. One extra bonus was a little game-room nook halfway up to the top floor. It had a TV and game setup (with several games included), and controls for two. My children enjoyed this! It's large enough for an adult to sit down in, but not tall enough to stand in. Just right for kids!

The owners were very communicative and accommodating to our family. Overall--we'd highly recommend this cabin for its location, view (wow!), and overall suitability of the cabin for a family (or two)! It was impeccably clean, as well!

Great getaway!

  • 5 of 5

Our second year at this condo. We're not big skiers, but the off season rates make it the perfect place for our family to get away for a few days. We go late enough in the fall to catch some snow and cooler weather. And we just hole up and play games, read books, take walks, soak in the hot tub and rest.

There's plenty of room for us. Each child can have his/her own room. The kitchen has everything we need to keep us from having to head down the mountain for every meal. The Wi-Fi was adequate for our needs.

The owner is very responsive and helpful for any issues that may arise. Once the hot tub was acting up, and the owner found a solution within an hour and even had the a service crew stop by just to be sure.

The kitchen is wonderful for one cook. If you have more than one cook, you may find it a bit frustrating (small). Be sure to bring a coffee grinder or pre-ground coffee.
