THIS IS THE BEST LOCATION AND BEST PRICE FOR LOCATION, COMFORT, AND CONVENIENCE. Enjoy our remodeled and comfortable island original, located at the prestigious north point of Anna Maria Island across the street from the landmark Rod and Reel Pier. This pier has one of the best restaurants on the island serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner while offering deck seating overlooking experienced anglers catching a wide variety of fish. Wildlife such as dolphins, manatees, pelicans, etc. can be seen while enjoying dinner. Meet new and old friends at the friendly and eclectic bar downstairs where reasonably priced libations and snacks are served. Crab cakes, clam chowder, and grouper sandwiches are the best on the island and don't forget to try their Pier

The pier also provides fishing equipment rentals, daily fishing licenses for sale, and bait. There is no excuse for not trying your hand at angling. If you catch a keeper, walk across the street and cook it on the house grill or ask the chef at the pier if they would prepare if for your dinner that evening.

Sugar sand beaches filled with shells, sand dollars and star fish are across the street on the Bay side or 3 blocks away on the Gulf side. This beach house is located in the most popular area of the island where you can enjoy all aspects of the island without getting into your car. Don't forget to walk to the north point to experience the most spectacular sunsets you'll ever see.

The beach house has fully insulated new hurricane windows that provide energy efficient protection from winds, rain, heat and cold. A library of fictional books are available for reading along with an Amazon firestick to access Netflix and other movies.

Perfect location

The house is located across from the Rod & Reel Resort and pier. The front porch and garden allows privacy while enjoying the constant traffic of families walking, on bicycles and golf carts with music on and joy in their hearts! If you like quiet and peace the back deck provides sun and privacy. The home is comfortable and the kitchen is incredibly well stocked. The kitchen and bathrooms are beautiful and clean! Overall our stay was one of the best experiences in AMI!

Nice old Florida cottage but ....

We are frequent users of VRBO and have stayed in many places in the US and Europe. We don't usually go into detail in a review unless there is a reason. In this case we felt the host was unresponsive when there is an issue she doesn't want to deal with. We originally booked a one week Sat-Sat stay that showed open in the calendar, which hadn't been correct and we were asked to book Wed-Wed instead which we did. There was a 1 day discount on the website, when we were charged for the rental we didn't receive the discount. We contacted the owner regarding this but she did not respond, we then decided to let it slide because we wanted to rent the place. After an evening arrival and stocking the refrigerator we found that it was not cooling, lights were on but the compressor was not running. The owner was out of the country, the management company responded quickly although they said they had not been aware they were managing this property. Very long story short, we finally got a working refrigerator at 9pm Sunday, being without a fridge for several days. We were told of a back-up refrigerator in the back room of the garage on Friday night after throwing the food out we had purchased. The back-up fridge was very dirty and we didn't put anything in it except drinks. The host did offer us a $100 gift card to the Rod and Reel Pier which is across the street from the cottage. This was touted as being a good thing about the location of the cottage but as it turned out - it was extremely busy with constant traffic with delivery trucks, garbage trucks, and customers all day until after 10:00 at night. Bottom line once the refrigerator was fixed and we checked out we contacted the owner asking for a compromise of one day off the rental as compensation for the inconvenience - and again we got radio silence from her. There are too many placed to rent on Anna Maria Island, you don't need this one.

Excellent location for Fishing and enjoying the Island

My husband, I and son loved the location.of this house. It is located right across from Rod & Reel Peir. We are avid Fishmen and love to fish all the time when we are on the island. Being located right from the Rod & Reel Pier was what we where looking for. The house was equipped with everything we needed. Even though we spent most of our time on pier we did enjoy our time on the front porch. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there. The owner able to answer any question we had too. Highly recommend this gem.

Paul and Sharon Comkowycz have been married for 44 years and currently reside full time in Winter Haven, Florida. We spend every available weekend at Anna Maria Is with our grand daughter, family, and friends. We've been enjoying this island paradise for 35 years as we found this beach location we love after moving from New Haven, Ct. Our plans are to retire to this beach community and in the meantime, we rent our house to guests during the winter season and occasional weeks at a time during selected holidays.

Why they chose this property

Anna Maria is only 1 hour 45 minutes from our home in Winter Haven. The beaches are the finest in the world. Close proximity to Tampa, Sarasota, and Bradenton added to the quality of life we experience when vacationing on the island. We are not far from the Dali Museum in St. Petersburg, St. Armand's Key in Sarasota, and the Mote Aquarium and research center in Bradenton. We chose our current beach house after owning another on the gulf side of the beach but preferred the location near the Rod and Reel Pier and the size of our 3 bedroom 2 bath house.
