Already booked another stay. This is the most peaceful place with the most gorgeous views. The owners couldn't be any nicer. Love this place!
We booked the farmhouse initially for convenience, as it was only 4 miles from a music festival that weekend. The owners were quick, responsive, flexible and very friendly. The pictures on the website, as stated before, does not do the property justice.
The home was perfect for a small group and we thought of how much room there would be to pitch a tent if able to bring more people in the future to enjoy all the property has to offer. The addition of the bedroom was a modern touch, all while having the feeling of an old farmhouse. The photos of family on the wall, and the original farmhouse, added to the character.
And as stated earlier, the sounds of the Amish buggies was a joy. So close to the front porch, and on a Sunday morning, about 20 buggies came by.
We will rent this place again, for the music festival, or just to relax.
Wow, this farmhouse exceeded our expectations. We slept more here than we have ever slept anyplace else.
The farmhouse is bigger than it looks. The bedroom, oh the bedroom is so beautiful. What a view. Comfortable bed and a breeze that should be bottled.
Mr. and Mrs. Erickson couldn't have been any nicer with places to go and ideas of things to do. We have already booked two more trips this year because of the location of this house. Do yourself a favor and book a stay here. This place will really put your life in perspective.
From the moment we arrived we were in heaven. The owners are friendly and so easy to work with. We choose this location, since we wanted to explore the Elroy-Sparta State Bike Trail and it was perfect! The location was great and the neighbors were awesome, including the rooster who crowed all day! Quit, peaceful and serene! Just outside of town, with wildlife abundant, we definitely plan on staying there again! Thank you to the owners for opening up this amazing little home to us!
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Quiet, peaceful, and beautiful country side! It was a great way to "unplug" and let life slow down. So enjoyed having the kitchen to cook meals in and enjoyed eating outside overlooking the beautiful hills of Wisconsin. If you are looking for the simple life - it's here!
This was our first time staying at the Hill Country Haven and it was a trip to remember! I did not know what to expect when we booked the house for the weekend with our dog and two friends, being that we come from the city and have never stayed in the Amish country. The house was beautiful, clean, and had everything you could ever need to make your stay feel like home. The property itself is huge and was perfect for our dog to run around in! We all loved being near the Amish and hearing their buggies drive by all day and night; felt like something out of a movie! We even ventured into the town of Wonewoc to canoe on the Baraboo River (we rented out of Beyond Boundaries Bike & Canoe Rental). Our whole group agreed (even the dog) that we will be coming back! Thank you for making our fourth of July trip one to remember! :)
