We have enjoyed the hospitality of all four of Jay Sargent’s Cabins in Greer, Arizona for the past 15 years. We have just returned from a wonderful family week in Sergeant’s Lodge, the 3 BR 2 Bath fully appointed cabin. It is so comfortable and relaxing to come home to after a day of fishing, hiking, and antiquing. The Museum is a regular visit every year; always learn something new & find new books to read or a gift or two for family or friends. Of course, JJ, our daughter, & grandson always provide at least one big dinner of grilled trout, fresh out of the stream (and some to bring home)! Have to mention JJ's 2015 biggest trout catch (8lb 4 oz, 26 inch) – what a beauty!

Early mornings we enjoy having coffee on the deck, watching the deer & elk come in to browse in the meadow. Late afternoon & evenings we often enjoy the "light show" of lightning, thunder, rain, very cool temps, misty mountains & forest. Playing horseshoes, cheering from the swing bench are also favorites in the large, grassy yard. The fireplace is a lovely, though rare treat as we prefer cooler temps..

Jay Sargent’s’ other cabins are equally fantastic, each accommodating various group sizes. Jay is meticulous in providing the best, most comfortable vacation experience possible in his lodgings. We greatly appreciate his efforts to make our summer getaway a most pleasurable experience. We have even enjoyed having a family Thanksgiving week in one of Sargent’s cabins, roast turkey & all! Thanks, Jay! We always look forward to our annual Greer getaway! And can’t forget to express appreciation for all the wonderful people of the Greer community who are always so friendly & welcoming!

My family and I greatly enjoyed our stay in the Sargents Lodge. The cabin is very homey and comfortable . There were 10 family members plus my son's dog and there was plenty of room. The 5 boys(oldest 9) enjoyed the yard and deck immensely. It snowed for 2 days and the boys spent many hours playing on the deck while it was snowing. We grilled dinners on the grill provided. I would sit on the deck to drink my morning coffee and watch elk coming down from the mountain. This cabin is located near many hiking trails(which the adults enjoyed) as well as Sunrise Ski Resort and we found the perfect place to go sledding. All in all this cabin provided us with the perfect getaway. We slept comfortably and felt rejuvenated on our return home. We definitely plan to return again to this cabin in the future.

We spent 10 nights at Sargent Lodge and loved it, will be back for sure. Has everything you could need to make your vacation comfortable and relaxing, just bring your clothes and food. Jay Sargent makes you feel so welcomed and makes sure you have everything you need, the nicest guy you will meet. The weather was great and Greer is beautiful. Nice porch to sit and enjoy your morning coffee and watch all the deer come through your yard, one morning we had about 8 deer in our yard. Then in evening BBQ your steak and have a couple of beers, play some cards, read, or visit with friends or family. Beds are very comfortable, plenty of room for 10 and our doggy Chloe had a great time running around in the big yard and enjoyed the lakes. We did lots of fishing. One night we even had a fire, rained everyday, but not all day, you can still go out for your walks, bike ride, fishing ,or kayaking. Very peaceful , beautiful pand relaxing! We will be back. Thank you Jay! We love your place. The Moreno's

Can't say enough, owner has very high standards, clean, decorative and the views off the back deck. could hear the Elk every night and had seen some also. very close to the little Colorado river for trout fishing. We will be back. Cabin has it all, just bring your food or eat out, pot's pan's washer dryer, it's all there. And the night sky and stars are awesome.

Best Cabin on Main St

  • 5 of 5

This cabin is fantastic. The deck was a big draw for us, we had the ability to be out in the sun eating breakfast but in the shade eating dinner. Gas grill was great as well, we had a blast grilling outside when normally it would be to hot in the valley. The amenities in the cabin were stellar, newer appliances compared to other cabins we have been at. Tons of utensils, pans, bowls etc. My only complaint is the traffic noise up and down main street, for a small town Greer has a lot of daytime and evening traffic. Other than that, it was a great trip.

Owner's Response: Happy to know you enjoyed Greer and our cabin! The deck is also one of our favorite features...hopefully, the beautiful views and convenience of the proximity to the stream outweighs the occasional Greer traffic. We'd love to have you back! -Jay

Sargent' Lodge

This was our first visit to on of the Sargent's Cabins "The Lodge", but not our first visit to Greer. We loved this cabin, it fit our families needs perfectly. We have small dogs and we love to take them with us and "The Lodge" is a pet friendly cabin. It was wonderful to sit out on the deck in the afternoons and enjoy the fresh air. The deck is huge!!! We loved the view and the sunsets off the deck. It only takes a few minutes to walk to town from the cabin to the creek, shops, and restaurants. Greer has three lakes for fishing and there is Big Lake 30 minutes away. The beds were very comfortable and plenty of bedding for the cool evenings. The Lodge was very clean and has everything possible you could ever need in the kitchen including a good potato peeler!!! The Lodge is decorated rustic like a cabin should be and very homey. The wood burning fireplace to complete being in the woods. We have stayed at other cabins in Greer but The Lodge is the best. We will be back. There is everything you need at this cabin clean and a homey cabin feels like you are at home.
