About the property

4 Bedrooms, 3.5 Baths, Sleeps 10

Sharp Top is a four bedroom, three and a half bath luxury cottage located at the top of Laurel Ridge across the street from the Big Canoe Chapel and tennis courts, and a short drive or walk to the Swim Club pool and beach, swimming lake, Fitness Center, and water slides. We are a five minute drive from the Big Canoe Golf Club and Black Bear Pub. We feature a hot tub, game table, and a ping pong table with two king bed bedrooms, two queen bedrooms, and two twin beds in the loft. We also have a fantastic mountain view for wonderful sunrises.

We have a two car parking pad, but additional cars can park across the street. The front entrance has only four steps for easy access from the parking pad.

The front door opens to a great room and dining room that seats eight people. The great room has a wood fire place, flat screen TV, and plenty of seating. The fully furnished kitchen should have everything that you should need for cooking including a microwave, oven, stove, large refrigerator, crock pot, regular coffee pot, blender, and mixer.

The master bedroom is on this main floor with a king bed and flat screen TV. The master bath has a large Jacuzzi tub and shower combination with grab bars for safety.

A screened porch with EZ Breeze for winter time comfort and large back deck open off the great room on the main floor.

Upstairs has a queen bed bedroom, two twin beds in the loft, and a bathroom with a tub shower combination.

Downstairs has a king bed bedroom, a queen bed bedroom, a jack and jill bathroom with a walk in shower, and a rec room with a game table and flat screen TV. There is a large screened porch with a hot tub and ping pong table out the back door on this terrace level.

Recent Review:

We recently spent a long weekend in Big Canoe,I rented a house named Sharp Top. My family had a most amazing weekend. The house was fully equipped with absolutely everything we could've ever needed. It's only a short walk to the beach which was so nice not to HAVE to drive. We cannot wait to return.. Lynne was amazing at helping pick out the perfect house for my family's needs. Thank you again for such an amazing weekend!

Great Girlfriends Getaway

  • 5 of 5

My girlfriends (6 guest) and I stayed at this gorgeous rental for a weekend getaway from the kids and boo's. The home was breathtaking... It was very clean, spacious and adequately stocked with kitchen appliances, utensils, towels and linens. There was plenty of space which allowed for us to have quiet time, read, sleep, watch TV or whatever we desired. The scenery was absolutely beautiful and serene this time of the year. We have decided to make this a quarterly girls getaway. Special thank to my awesome agent Lynn who made the reservation process easy breezy💗.

Tennis Team Weekend

  • 5 of 5

Our ALTA team stayed for a tennis getaway weekend this fall. The house worked out perfectly for us (6 women). We loved the lake view and sitting on the deck. The house is cozy and It was convenient to the tennis courts and the Black Bear Pub where we ate lunch. The beautiful fall leaves made it even better!

Summer Reunion

  • 5 of 5

Our family needed space for a reunion for our parents' 60th wedding anniversary, and your home was one of two we rented. It was beautifully decorated, nicely laid out, and hospitably appointed. We especially appreciated the screened porch and the deck with gas grill.

Management was excellent and very responsive to our questions and requests. When the wi-fi stopped working, they sent someone out within the two hours to fix it. Overall, a lovely property.

We did find Big Canoe difficult to navigate (steep hills, narrow roads, limited parking, etc.). But this home was a nice place to stay.

Owner's Response: Thank you for staying with us for your reunion and we appreciate your taking the time to write this review. Mountain roads are always difficult to navigate, especially in the dark.

An Old Fashioned Family Christmas

  • 5 of 5

My family, all ten of us, had a wonderful Christmas vacation at Lake Walk. We decorated a little tree, played games, cooked / ate like crazy and reveled in family time. It was truly a special experience and the Lake Walk property played a very huge part in this.

We've rented homes from all over and we all agreed, this one was at the top of the list. Well-appointed with every household furnishing you can think of. Extra linens, plenty of kitchen appliances, dishes and little extras that make you feel at home. The rental company was easy to work with and very accommodating.

My favorite thing about this property is the way it is laid out. It is hard to imagine the property from the pictures, but it has GREAT separation of space. No one room is huge, but for a large family, it provided exactly what was necessary - lots of bathrooms and a spot for everyone to feel comfortable. The house is beautiful and very well-decorated. You'll feel pampered.

The location is perfect, right on the lake, close to all walking trails, Clubhouses and restaurants. Short drives to small country towns that you'll fall in love with. Beautiful scenery. I simply can't say enough about the property. We plan to come back in the summer so we can enjoy the outdoor spaces and Big Canoe amenities - and I can't wait. Thank you Lake Walk!

Wonderful Thanksgiving

  • 5 of 5

Big Canoe was central to various members of our extended family. This was the nicest, most well-appointed home we've stayed in through VRBO and we've stayed at quite a few. Very comfortable, spacious with nothing overlooked. Didn't feel like a rental. Felt as if we were visiting good friends. The pictures don't do this place justice. VERY comfortable, well-decorated, clean and welcoming. Come stay. You won't be disappointed.

Wonderful Property

  • 5 of 5

This is property is close to most amenities. We had a large party staying for Thanksgiving, so it was nice to walk down the back steps and be on a hiking trail or at the indoor pool/sandy beach. The playground, picnic tables, etc. were only a short drive. Take the drive to Dahlonega, GA. Cute little downtown.

Pros - convenient, nicely decorated, bedrooms a good size, plenty of bathrooms, kitchen large enough to cook, hiking trails were very convenient. The back deck and screen porch were a plus so that our large party could spread out.

Cons - Parking is limited. Since we were close to the pool, we parked 2 of our 4 vehicles there, and walked up the back stairs. Granted it's steep, but it was a doable solution. Amenities cost, which we were unaware of...indoor pool, fishing, etc. all has a higher than average cost. You might want to know that upfront.
