Enjoy the Privacy of 'Water's Edge.' From the minute you walk onto the large deck which it completely extended over the lake you will begin to relax as you listen to the water lapping the shore underneath you. The house is now 1500 square feet and has living room and dining room with direct lake views. Private beach area with fire pit on south end of cottage and north beach is perfect for wading into the lake or launching rafts and kayaks.

Waters Edge is located on a quiet side street - perfect for a morning run , taking an evening stroll or maybe a family bike ride.

Your mornings can start with a cup of fresh coffee as you soak in a beautiful sun rise. Evenings can begin with the moon rising across the lake and a glass of your favorite local wine in hand.

Enjoy over 107 feet of crystal clear waterfront as you wade in from the private natural shore or jump off the end of the dock and use the swimming ladder to do it again. Enjoy gathering around the firepit in the evenings.

Bedrooms are on the second floor. Master Bedroom has a queen bed, vaulted ceiling with fan. Views of the lake abound with wall to wall windows on three sides. The second bedroom has a twin over full bunk bed and has lake front view. Third bedroom is a trundle bed with two twins that can make one king bed - lakefront view.

Kids will enjoy the great fishing right from the dock... small mouth bass and perch.

Golfers will be pleased with the golf course in Penn Yan, and the many restaurants that surround Keuka lake, which offer great dining and enjoyable entertainment on many weekends.

This lake home is perfect for a couples romantic retreat of for a family vacation. Keuka Lake is a truly a getaway and we hope you love it as much as we do.

Fantastic Keuka country house

  • 5 of 5

Our family is from Penn Yan and the new tradition is to meet for a reunion each year! This 100% remodeled house was exactly what we were looking for. On top of if, the owners are fantastic, easy to get a hold of and locals! We feel blessed to have been able to stay exactly on the waters' edge. In fact, the master is an awesome 180 degree full window view over the water. We are definately coming back. We were glad to meet the neighbors and their children from Denmark. Long time Yates county Danes! Good work Mike!

Wonderful experience

  • 5 of 5

We have been vacationing at Keuka Lake for the past four years. I have to say the Water's Edge helped to make our recent two week stay one of the most memorable vacations we have ever had. This home has been recently remodeled with high end appliances, beautiful master bath and bedroom, views of the lake from every room - even the bathroom. The deck is actually OVER the lake. The dock is wide enough at the end for several chairs and had whips for our boat. It was a perfect location - near the college, close to Penn Yan and Seneca Farms Ice Cream, the Switz Inn, and even Hammondsport is only a short drive. The street is very quiet and fairly level, great for walks and bicycling. Our grandchildren visited over the weekend - we had a blast boating, tubing, fishing, swimming, catching crayfish, hiking, grilling, smores at the firepit, and watching the moon rise on the deck. I would recommend this property without reservation.

The Great Escape

  • 5 of 5

There is a reason why we're coming back to Shale Beach and this wonderful cottage; the Perfect Getaway from it all. My wife and I, two sons and two nephews had a fantastic week of fishing, swimming, relaxing and just enjoying the scenery. Watklins Glen State Park is a great day out along with the winery choices. My boys and nephews are 21 and 19 respectively, and insisted on coming back here. That says alot! Great owner who is a phone call away if needed. The cottage is beautiful and extremely clean. I highly recommend staying here.

Great Cottage

  • 5 of 5

My wife, two young daughters, and I spent a week in August in this great cottage. The house is compact but very comfortable. The front room has great views of the lake through its three walls of windows. You must go through the second bedroom to get to the lakefront bedroom. Small shale beach, large concrete waterfront terrace, and dock all give great access to the water. A moored swimming platform, shallow beach, and clear water invite one to swim. A fire pit, deck with table and chairs, and lounge chairs on the terrace give plenty of opportunities to enjoy yourself out of the water as well. Penn Yan is only a few minutes away, with shopping, dining, go-carts, and more. Location is also perfect for visits to much of the other Finger Lakes and attractions. Owner is a pleasure to deal with.

Water's Edge

  • 5 of 5

We rented Water's Edge for the third week in August. I had no difficulty finding the property as one of the previous reviewers did. The weather was beautiful and the water was perfect. I was pleasantly surprised with how clear the water was (I expected more plant life since it was shallow). The cottage was clean and tidy when we arrived. As an added bonus, there were many inflatable rafts and chairs for us to use, as well as the moored dock. We spent most of our time at the house (although there is plenty to do in the area), which was relaxing and peaceful. The owners were great with communication and delivered all that was promised. We live about an hour away and our nieces and nephews visited us. We found the house to be very child friendly with a shallow wade in area. There is considerable privacy and the house was located in a nice residential area. As an added bonus, we were visited by ducks daily! I highly recommend these owners and this property.

Restorative, Relaxing and Romantic

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I spent a week at Water's Edge and the only negative I have to say is that even though it was nice to get home to our animals, it was extremely difficult to leave such a beautiful place. As mentioned before, the water is fantastic (although remember that this is a shallow lake so right off the dock itself can be a little seaweedy - no biggie if you paddle out farther), the bedroom with all the windows is just divine - we spent some morning just laying in bed drinking coffee and listening to the waves lap against the dock). We didn't leave the cottage all that much but when we did it was to go to a couple of winetastings (McGregor's and Bully Hill were particular favorites). There's a great farm market right down the road on the way back into Penn Yan (on the left, Big Indian something maybe) and we dined on fresh veggies from there as well as the most insanely good meats from Morgan's (just keep going straight through town on Elm Street, it's on your left just past the railroad tracks) - skipped the "Tops" supermarket altogether. And if you're interested in some really great beers, believe it or not, the Sunoco gas station right in town has growlers for sale as well as a really extensive selection of IPAs,, etc. There's also a great shop (Pinwheel) on Main Street that features hand crafted goods and homemade yummies - they are non profit and all proceeds go to the food bank so the area children can have meals during the weekend. But no matter where we went, at the end of the day we were back at the paradise known as Water's Edge - I know people like to fish right off the dock but I hope no one caught Fernando - he was about a foot or so long and kept us company during the morning hours :)
