We put a lot of personal artsy detail into our cottage to make it special and we think you'll like it too. If you are arriving from the big city the first thought you'll have is that it's really peaceful and away from it all. And it is. Our property is unassuming and comfortable to anyone seeking a laid back, low key retreat. Our cottage is cozy, perfect for small families and couples and has an open flow for entertaining inside, leading out to a very relaxing screened in front porch. Each bedroom has comfortable sleeping accommodations, a queen sized bed in one and two comfy twin beds in the other. The living room has a pullout futon that is a mattress type- you'll sleep well on it if you decide to sleep by the fireplace. Outside you'll find a charcoal grill and shady seating while you grill.
Just two miles away is a great river for swimming and picnicking. Fifteen miles away is the now famous Blue Hole and water falls. Bethel Woods is a thirty minute drive. Frost Valley YMCA is a short hop just ten minutes.
I'm a private chef who loves to grow my own summer veggies during the summer months, cook them up and serve them to a crowd of friends. We love the fact that we can head upstate with our kids, open the doors and let them play outdoors without any of the innercity worries. I enjoy life as an opportunity to share and help others. And I'll gladly teach you how to better your cooking skills.
Our cottage has been detailed with a collection of personal farm sale, stoop sale finds we've taken an interest in. The property exudes comfort and is unpretentious. We go out of our way to provide a relaxing stay. It's been our getaway form the hectic city for over 15 years.
The cottage is sighted so that the front porch overhangs to shade the house in the morning sun and the back of the house had tall trees that shades and protects the house from the afternoon sun. This is a win win for cool comfort.
My girlfriend and I spent weeks looking for cabins/lodges in Maryland, Pennsylvania, Vermont, and New York that fit our expectations when we came across Wild Cat Mountain Cottage. We wanted seclusion and we got it. It was great to take our two dogs off the leashes and have them run around the property and through all the trails we found. We even drove the short distance to the river where we ate lunch on a sandy beach while our dogs played in the water. The first night we arrived we got the fire going, sat by it every night and just read our books. Very cozy inside and the seclusion outside really makes you feel like your on your own, which made for a perfect getaway. Even snowed on our last day there! The owner is extremely helpful and easy to contact for any questions.
I highly recommend this cottage for anyone wanting a peaceful escape from the chaos of everyday life. We went swimming in a river- compete with a waterfall and gentle rapids, hiking in the woods, and wild blueberry picking. The cottage itself is full of character, which is rare in a rental. There are lots of old books and collections of antiques, very warm and comforting. The kitchen is well stocked with pots, pans, dishes, and utensils and the wood burning stove is perfect for the cool mountain nights. We will definitely be back.
We had a wonderful stay here up from the City. Great hiking and wildlife sighting with plenty to see and do. Great outdoor games and activities for the whole crowd with nightly BBQ. Very relaxing and we can't wait to return in the falls when the leaves change.
This beautifully appointed country cabin has it all--from the excellent rural location to the outdoor ammenities! Great hiking and wildlife sighting as well as nightly outdoor BBQing and daytime yard games, this is really the way to go if you want a great country getaway. Very relaxing and peaceful away from it all. I will be back in the fall when the leaves change color!
We had a wonderful stay here last summer. Planning to go back. An incredibly peaceful get away from the city. My young daughter had a blast.
The screened porch is wonderful to sit and enjoy listening to the birds. We enjoyed the backyard barbecue. There is an adorable cafe/ family restaurant nearby. We enjoyed the refreshing swim in the nearby river.
If you are looking for a hidden away from it all place to unwind, Claryville is it. Our cottage is tucked away two miles up Wildcat mountain on a secluded dirt road. You'll wake up to a chorus of birds and about nothing else. All in about 2 hours from the GWB as a starting point. The drive there will take you on a scenic tour over the Neversink reservore and through state forest where you'll get a glimpse of wildlife, rolling rivers and simple local life.
