The owners are the 8th generation descendants of a German soldier of the American Revolution who, in 1777,was supplied by a German prince to the British King George III for the defence of Canada and after the war settled in
that part of Quebec.
The Owner purchased this cabin in 2009
It is set in a picturesque corner of the country called the Eastern Townships, where groups of Canadian Indians, French Canadians, United Empire Loyalists and Irish immigrants have successively settled over the years. A lovely region just east of Montréal, replete with artisan shops, vineyards and outdoor markets located in quaint villages amidst a stupendous setting of forests, lakes and mountains.
The Lounge Cabin offers a charming place to stay and unwind on your holiday or for a weekend. Recently built to a high standard offering 3 en-suite bedrooms and a mezzanine sleeping space it sleeps up to 8 guests. We have 3 ensuite bedrooms all with a double bed, 1 mezzanine space with double bed.
We spent a lovely week in the Eastern Townships in July. The small lake was perfect for the dogs to swim and for us to practice with our new kayak and paddle board. The area was quiet and secluded and yet close to Magog, shopping and restaurants as required. The house was well equipped with cooking tools, dishes and glassware - as well as a state of the art stove. We spent many lovely hours reading on the deck, swimming or walking around the area with the dogs. The owner was accessible and welcoming - and we look forward to returning sometime in the future.
We rented this one for my Birtday
My children came ,we wanted 4 bedrooms and large kitchen.
The deck was large and good for a party .
We enjoy the view, the lake and the privacy
The house is modern and well kept.
We hope to return .
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay during our first visit to the Eastern Townships last August. The cabin is bright, modern and well-equipped and we enjoyed a good deal of privacy mid-week on the clean, clear (albeit small) lake. The property is only a few minutes from town, but perfectly located away from the bustle to allow for a private escape for couples, families and friends.
The owner was organized, pleasant and accessible and the kitchen is stocked with all the tools and essentials you'll need to cook, BBQ and enjoy gourmet homemade meals. We hope to return again in the near future.
We live in Montreal and we're looking forward to spending sometime nestled in nature and boy did we get it. The Cabin was perfect for our needs, and ideally located in a very private and wooded lot. We brought our bikes and enjoyed riding around, picking wild rasberries, swimming in the clear fresh waters, and making fires outdoors. The trees and birds were beautiful the house was extremely comfortable. We felt totally relaxed by the time we left and hope to return.
We booked the Lounge Cabin as a place we could vacation with 3 generations and the family dog. Here we got what we wanted. Quiet small lake, warm water, and forest is all we wanted with a beautiful modern interior to keep us warm and dry. The town of Magog was close enough for convenience and entertainment. We brought our own watercraft and spent much time on the lake where both kids and adults enjoyed the water and each other's company.
OK, let's keep this short. Arrived at the lounge Cabin Dec 21/13 for a relaxing Christmas vacation. Anything but. Within hours of our arrival, there was a power outage throughout the area. We were without power for 4 days. The owner has no backup in case of a power outage. Without power, the cabin has none of the amenities that we paid for. No Heat, no Lights, and most importantly NO WATER at all. No water for toilets-imagine that! Imagine melting enough snow to flush each toilet only once per day. That chore alone took 5 hours per day. The owner was not at all helpful with our plight-did not offer to relocate us, deliver wood/water, nor return our money to us. We lived like this for 4 days, including Christmas day. The cold, exhaustion, and sickness finally forced us to find hotel rooms for 5 of us on Christmas Day. This was all an added expense to us, as was our purchase of dry wood, lighters, candles, lanterns. In short a miserable vacation, despite several discussions with the owner, we have not been reimbursed for the 4 days without power. In winter, you have got to be prepared for power outages. A generator is essential, especially if the toilets won't work without power. Future renters, be forewarned. We will not be back.
Located directly on a private ecological lake, swimming in front of the house is both safe and truly enjoyable !
