A hill top location with privacy and charm offers one of the best views in the Adirondacks. You can see from Giant mountain to the Southeast through the Great range all the way to the Northwest and still are only a mile from the village of Keene and 14 miles from Lake Placid. Deer, turkeys and partridge are daily visitors. Multiple varieties of maple, oak and birch all show their foliage for breathtaking fall colors. The sunsets are beautiful with a full exposure of the western sky over the mountain tops towards Lake Placid. The view is facilitated by a deck and walkway on the entire South and West sides of this log home. The large field stone chimney houses a Vermont castings stove for warmth and ambiance. Both the kitchen and the dining area are open to the great room with it's cathedral ceiling and large windows on 3 sides. The artwork and furniture are authentic Adirondack and created by local artists.
$350 per night with a two night minimum + $150 cleaning fee + refundable $400 security deposit. Weekly $2400 with a $150 cleaning fee + $400 security deposit.
We had a very nice family reunion at Camp Serenity. This is a great place to get away from it all and spend quality time with nature and loved ones. Tom was a great host, and the house had everything needed for a very comfortable stay. I would highly recommend this house, and we would certainly love to go back!
As a person in a wheelchair finding an accessible place to being with was tough. After going to this house and using it for the weekend, I would go back anytime! Tom was great. The house had all you needed and more. Some things might be a little out dated (TV) but amazing scenery and fire pit make up for it.
Blew away our expectations! Absolutely gorgeous inside and out with a spectacular view and all possible amenities. I raced ironman and we celebrated our girls birthdays while there (ages 13 and 15). They each brought a friend and everyone loved it. No one wanted to leave. It was quiet and out of the way yet sooo easy to reach Lk Placid village and my family had no problem navigating to and from the race venue and course. Would stay again next time in a heartbeat. Perfect week and the owner was wonderful to deal with and very helpful.
PS: if you are uncertain about IM Lk Placid - it's awesome; the scenery, energy, spectators, sightseeing, recreation...And stay at Serenity!
Six good friends got together for a weekend in the Adirondacks. We could not have made a better choice on where to stay. The house was spacious, extremely comfortable, and was spotless. Everything that we could have possibly needed was there. The views were incredible - one hundred eighty degrees of high peaks - it was an amazing panorama.
Best of all was our host - Tom. He made sure we had what we needed, and he was great to speak with. I have never met anyone with his depth of knowledge of the Adirondacks. He pointed out every peak and spoke with us about the various hiking trails - all in a the friendliest manner possible. I wished I could have talked with him for hours.
We will be back without hesitation - very much looking forward to our next visit.
This review is very belated, but I have been thinking about this place very since we left. The photos do not do it justice! The views from the deck of this house were amazing. We spent the days hiking the convenient peaks and the nights relaxing by the firepit. Tom was so nice and helpful. He went out of his way to arrange tennis courts for us to play at. He also made my 7 year old son's trip, and year, by giving him an ADK patch to commemorate his first summit. We can't wait to go back and will recommend to all our friends and family
We had such a lovely few days here, and our only disappointment was that we couldn't stay longer.
The house is very well stocked, clean, and the beds are VERY comfortable. We relaxed and enjoyed the beautiful views, we hiked, we skiied. Tom was always available to help with any questions we had. It snowed ~6" one night and our driveway was plowed before we returned. House sits high on a hill and the views are just amazing.
Tom is a great host. We wanted to extend our stay (his house was booked) and he called around town and found us a guest house with friends. He goes above and beyond to be helpful and is just a super nice guy.
We loved it here. May try to rent for a month this summer. I highly recommend this property of you enjoy peace and yes, 'serenity'. You will find it here.
The town of Keene is located in the famous High Peaks region of the Adirondack Park. There is great hiking and camping and uncrowded roads for sightseeing. Lake Champlain is to the East and Lake placid to the west. It is wonderful for curling up before a fire or for the most demanding of outdoor activities. There are many good restaurants and evening activities in Lake Placid. In Summer and Fall warm days and cool nights are characteristic and the Fall foliage is no more spectacular anywhere in the Northeast. This area offers something for everyone.
