We stayed four nights in October to celebrate our nephew's wedding at the Bel Air Bay club, which is located below the Palisades on Coast Highway. The four bedrooms worked great for our needs. We were able to cook several meals in the kitchen which had all of the necessary, pots, pans, silverware, utensils, glasses, cups, etc. We loved the amazing views from the living room and covered patio and the waterfall was a big hit with children and adults alike. As others have mentioned, the house is very eclectic and the artwork was interesting, but was never a cause for concern for us or the small children. The beds were comfortable with great linens and the bathrooms were clean and had an abundance of towels and hand towels. Our stay coincided with an unusual heatwave for the westside of LA so the fans were put to use. The front room was warm though because of the floor to ceiling windows. But the covered patio overlooking the Pacific stayed cool even on the warmest days. All in all, this was a good property for our family's needs.
This house is so unique, so beautiful! We came to town, 8 of us, for a family wedding and we were in constant 'awe' of the beauty of this property. It was well-stocked to meet all our needs with linens and kitchen items. Plenty of space with 4 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms. The decor/art work added to the whole wonderful experience of the Pali House. Paul was awaiting our arrival and was accessible throughout our stay for questions. We would definitely return to this oasis!
Really nice vacation. The family enjoyed our stay and would do this again.
This is a very cool house of Modernist design, probably from early 60's. It has a spectacular western view, from the coast south past Santa Monica to the western ocean horizon. While some aspects of the house are a bit worn, the linens, baths, and kitchen were all very clean. The street location is quiet, and perhaps a three minute drive from the commercial section of Pacific Palisades which has several grocery stores and a good selection of restaurants.
The kitchen is well equipped with utensils and cooking gear. The outdoor covered patio with fireplace is very nice sitting area with views. We had a lovely stay there and the location was terrific for our needs. I would absolutely rent it again if the opportunity arose
As a large family getaway we stayed 3 days before heading to a beach house in San Diego, and missed this place the whole time we were at the beach house. This house is so private, beautiful, comfortable, and exotic -- and when renting it we felt like we lived there. This is a feeling you cannot get from a corporate rental (such as the one we had in San Diego). This house is so quirky (rooftop patio, stunning artwork everywhere) that it felt just foreign enough to really feel like we were on vacation. Also must say we loved the location -- it's a 5 or 10 minute drive to Santa Monica, and the view towards the ocean is unbeatable.
I don't say this about many places but I really hope to go back.
My family and I wanted a little reunion especially since it was my birthday. So we found this place and we couldn't have been any happier. First of all it accommodated all our needs. It is at a great location that is very near Santa Monica beach and boardwalk. The location is also great since its near a grocery store to buy supplies. My family and I like cooking so there was a BBQ grill and the kitchen was fully stocked. We wanted to go out at night so we were able to check out a few great bars around the area which was very close by and we just used uber. Also the neighborhood feels safe and the view is so beautiful. It is on a hill so you get a great view of the sunset and at night looking over to the ocean. They also have a place where you can look at on top of the roof with a few chairs to relax and watch the sunrise. The house was really great. Kitchen was nice and there are many beautiful paintings. The bathroom was clean with many towels. The outside of the house was my most favorite part. It was basically an outside living room with couches set up, where you can huddle around and talk and play games while enjoying the view. Kathleen and the property manager made it so easy to rent from. They had excellent communication and answered all my questions thoroughly. I would definitely recommend this place if you want to stay in Santa Monica area and want to enjoy the view.
