About the property

1 Bedroom + Convertible bed(s), 1 Bath (Sleeps 2-4)

We so enjoy sharing our charming little home, built in 1904 in the heart of downtown Colorado Springs. It has been completely restored with all the modern-day amenities but retains old-world charm with its high ceilings, original woodwork and crown molding. We have tastefully furnished the house and included everything that anyone could need to feel right at home. The beautiful new kitchen is fully equipped and stocked with spices, basic food items, and condiments. Gorgeous hard-wood floors throughout the house make for a very clean environment. The property includes a detached two-car garage which is accessed from the alley with walkout into privacy-fenced backyard with towering shade trees. A sidewalk from the garage leads to the back door of the house where you will find a great patio area with a BBQ grill ready for your use,

For your peace of mind, all locks are re-keyed prior to new arrivals.

Location: We are less than a mile to the US Olympic Training Center and Memorial Hospital, 1 mile from Colorado College, and 9 blocks from Memorial Park and Prospect Lake where you can enjoy the Labor Day Hot Air Balloon Festival and the city's Fourth of July fireworks celebration. Time wise, we are 7 minutes from Old Colorado Historic District; 10 minutes from the famous 5-star Broadmoor Hotel and the World Arena; 15 minutes from Colorado Springs Airport, Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, Garden of the Gods, and Seven Falls; 20 minutes from Cave of the Winds, Manitou Springs, and US Air Force Academy; 45 minutes from the Royal Gorge; one hour from Cripple Creek; and one hour from Denver, with quick and easy access to I-25.

For hikers, runners and bicyclists, Shooks Run Trail is just 2 blocks west of our house and connects to the Pikes Peak Greenway. If you plan to bring bicycles, you will definitely be in the right spot. With a two-car garage, there is plenty of space for storing those bikes. If it's walking you enjoy, Shooks Run Trail winds through the beautiful, tranquil Shooks Run Park just blocks from the house.

Our little home is perfect for an individual or couple for extended stays or romantic getaways. It is very cozy and comfortable. No attention to detail has been missed. It is also ideal for those traveling on business or looking for a furnished short term rental. Please call us or drop us an email so we can begin helping you plan a memorable visit. We will do everything possible to make your stay comfortable and relaxing.

About Sheryl Courter

My husband and I moved from Seattle/Wichita in 2004, because the city offered everything we both wanted as we started our new lives together. We love Colorado Springs and are very excited about sharing our city and its surrounding area. There is so much to do and see here. A simple drive in the mountains never fails to rejuvenate our spirits.

Sheryl Courter purchased this house in 2008

Why Sheryl Courter chose Colorado Springs

We chose Colorado for it's natural beauty, great weather, and multitude of outdoor activities. From our home, you will be in the center of everything. Enjoy hiking, bicycling, skiing, fishing, and exploring local history. You will also have quick and easy access to I-25, and you can be in Denver in no more than an hour for any sporting event or concert.

What makes this house unique

We are located in a lovely, quiet, established neighborhood just 7 blocks east of the downtown area. Walk to your choice of outside cafes, many fine dining establishments, museums, parks, charming boutiques, nightclubs, the Penrose Library, the Fine Art Center, and the Pikes Peak Center. Fifty Fifty Coffee House is just three blocks away for great coffee drinks (the coffee is roasted next door at Switchback Roasters), breakfast sandwiches, organic pastries and gluten free foods. The Willamette Deli & Market is also three blocks from the house. If you haven't already noticed, this truly is a charming neighborhood.

Little house with a lot of charm.

Perfect location if you are attending a training clinic at the Olympic Training Center. The house is equipped with everything you need. The bed was so comfortable. We slept much better here than any hotel. The garage was a nice bonus. I would definitely stay here again.

cozy and prepared for you

  • 5 of 5

The listing is described very accurately. Sheryl goes above and beyond to make your stay comfortable (even though we never met). There was plenty of coffee and tea, food for breakfast and all the keys where she said they would be. Plenty of extra towels and very clean bathroom and kitchen. Water pressure was excellent. The back door is in the bedroom but this neighborhood is very quiet, even on the weekends. We felt very safe. More than enough dishes and pots to cook. Her email is extensive and the folder in the living room has even more information. The yard has a patio under a huge oak tree that kept us dry during the rain. Garage with opener was an extra perk. Not too far from city center but for us it was not walkable, we took the car. Everything within minutes though. The house is very clean and with over 90 degrees temps outside and closed blinds we didn't use air conditioning. The house is well shaded and kept the cool. The recommendation for upgrades would be a new mattress in the bedroom. We were also not able to hook up to the internet even with the passwords provided. Otherwise, this house has more than you will need!! Sheryl did an excellent job in preparing the house for us. I would recommend for couples, seniors and small families and would stay there again if ever in the area.

Owner's Response: Thanks so much Monika. I'm so happy you enjoyed the house and your visit to Colorado Springs. I'm sorry you were unable to get the internet to work. I rebooted the modem and router and all is working fine now. I know it is important for many of my guests to have internet access, as some work from the house when they stay with us, so I do take it seriously. Sorry I didn't notice the problem before your arrival. I also looked at the mattress, and I think it is not so much a problem with the mattress as it is the bed frame itself which is causing the bed to creak. I will have my husband take a look at it to see if he can tighten it up. Thanks for letting me know. We look forward to having you again. ~~Sheryl

Charming, cozy house

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I spent five nights in this delightful little house. Everything was perfect and they provided everything one could need, including a coffee grinder and beans. The location is great and so convenient to downtown. It was quiet and we liked being able to put our car in a garage each night. We will definitely stay there again when visiting our family in the area.
