Guestbook comments from the owner

I received the check in the mail the other day, thanks!!! Last weekend was just ABSOLUTELY wonderful! Terrific people, delicious food, spirited dancing, and lovely weather :) Having the opportunity to stay at the creek house really just pulled it all together so we thank you profusely for that! I really can't think of anything that I would have changed. When I posed the question to some of the gang, there were a couple of rather tall fellows who jokingly brought attention to the low ceilings upstairs hahah but I think they will survive! Not to mention that I felt it offered quaint and charming character to the place anyways! Thanks again! We would and will definitely rent again.

Perfect for a First Look and Family Reunion

  • 5 of 5

This home is an absolute gem! We stayed here for two very important events. We needed a beautiful setting for our Get Ready location and First Look before our wedding, and we needed a relaxing, spacious setting for a reunion of family members that hadn't seen each other is several years. The home was comfortable, clean, and well stocked. The bedrooms are decorated in cheerful themes, which were perfect for wedding day pics and video. The location is right on the river and away from the main road, but close to coffee and other shops and activities. The home was friendly for our seniors as the main level has a bedroom and bathroom, the porch is large (small steps up), and most of the yard around the home is walkable with a walker/limited ability. My family enjoyed fishing, the fire pit, the playground, and sitting on the porch relaxing. We felt like we were on vacation, but had all the comforts of home. Everyone wants to return! Thank you for allowing us to share your home, for it will always hold a very special place in our memories and hearts!

Perfect for our family vacation!

  • 5 of 5

Seven adults and six kids had a wonderful time at the Creek House. There was plenty of room for all of us and the amenities were plentiful - stocked kitchen, games, books, movies, outside toys, swingsets and anything else you could possibly need! Big boys loved the crabbing under the bridge and even the 5 year old jumped off at high tide. We enjoyed our adventures to Rocky Neck, The Dinosaur Place in New London and Brownstone Exploration and Discovery Park. In spite of the heat, we enjoyed a couple of nights around the fire pit. The kayaks got a lot of use, including a sunrise trip which produced some great photos! The house was very clean and super comfortable. The owner was very accommodating. Enjoyed the binder in the house with information on area attractions and also the one with the history of the house - quite interesting. Highly recommend - hope it's still a rental for the next time we decide to get together in CT!!!!

Relaxing Retreat Setting

  • 4 of 5

Creek House provides basic, comfortable accommodations in an exceptional setting. Even though it is located in CT with a high population density, it feels as if you are off and away, with plenty of wild life around and beautiful views of the creek and estuary. This time we were able to kayak out to the ocean and even used the outdoor shower, but were spared the crushing overpopulated feel of being at the shore/beach.

Girls' Weekend

  • 5 of 5

We go somewhere new every year, and this year decided on Connecticut. With six of us, there were plenty of bedrooms and beds for each of us, and two full bathrooms. It was too cold for the outdoor shower, but that would also have been an option. The itself house is great. Love the style and the homey feel. The property was also nice, and we loved the views from the porch. Plenty to do in the area, too. Highly recommend this property.

Creek house is a hidden gem

  • 5 of 5

Was looking forward to family reunion but was completely blown away by how amazing this house is. Our family had the most wonderful time. Worst part of the trip was leaving... Can't wait to go back again and again. It's a truly special place and we made wonderful lifelong memories. Can't thank the owners enough for sharing them home with our family.

The Crew

We so enjoyed our week at Creek House. My mother, brother, sister and our four children, aged 8 - 12 were thrilled the minute we pulled into the driveway and saw the beautiful grounds and water access. Be sure to enjoy the yard and all the little treasures sown there. The house itself was comfortable, very well stocked and more than spacious enough for all of us and our varied needs. The kids loved swimming and floating in the water, crabbing from the dock and the kayaks that were at our disposal all week. Having the beach pass was great and we took advantage of that, as well as proximity to Mystic Aquarium, which the kids love. Ice cream, the Book Barn, Dad's restaurant, the fire pit all added to our great week. We were looking for a home with a variety of activities for the kids while allowing us to relax and watch their memories form and we found it. The nicest touch were all the details in the house and the history that guests are allowed to share. Seeing the home over the years and learning about the family history there was lovely. We loved our stay and definitely look forward to another stay!
