All the benefits of the Dunes and then some. The owner uses this house as a place for get togethers and family gatherings. With five bedrooms (two of the bedrooms have two sets of bunkbeds each, so there are 8 bunks, two queen beds and a king bed, plus a queen-sized pull-out sofa) and four full bathrooms, as many as 16 (when using pullout sofa) can have a great time over the week or weekend, and all sleep onsite. Sorry, we are no longer allowing weddings, bachelor parties, high school or college groups, and any groups over 16 people.

Features: Signature deck with outdoor gas grill, 9-person hot tub, outdoor shower and a finished lower level with a living area, tv, two bedrooms, three bathrooms, a bar and laundry. Upstairs features a full bathroom with dual shower heads and three bedrooms, kitchen, four-season room with gas fireplace and living room.

Spring and fall are my favorite times, but even winter is cozy in this getaway! Less than an hour to Notre Dame and less than a mile to the beach.

What makes this different from most homes in Beverly Shores is the location and lot size. We are close enough to the lake to make it an easy walk, bike or drive, but unlike homes close to the lake, this lot is two acres, which gives you a feeling of privacy while still being able to spread out.

The driveway is large and circular, so can accommodate several cars.

If you like to eat and don't want to grill all the time on site, the best restaurant in the Dunes, Bartlett's, is open just two doors down. It is a focal point of post-beach activity or a great place for Bloody Mary's anytime of day! Next door is Dunes Antiques. These are our neighbors and they are great! Go shop and meet them!

Excessive noise, yelling, playing loud music is not tolerated, so if this is your style, you may want to pass on us.

The goal is for you and your friends, family or significant other to have a fantastic time in a safe, calm environment. The stream, waterfall and shade garden help with the tranquil mood. If you want more information, just email me!

About The Owner

I am a business owner from Indiana. I completed nearly all the landscaping, pond and waterfalls. Creating a sense of retreat has been the goal here as my normal life is hectic with travel and deadlines.

The Owner purchased this house in 2004

Why The Owner chose Indiana

This is a great area: beaches, dunes, forest, hiking, not to mention great shopping and playing in Michigan City at the outlet mall and the Blue Chip casino. The best part for me was the ability of my dog to run around two acres and chase deer, squirrels, etc. The casual atmosphere here is great!

What makes this house unique

Everyone here is just here to relax or have fun -- or both! You can grab ice cream or coffee at the gas station (walkable), a full meal or drink at Bartlett's (walkable), mail a letter(!) at the town post office at the entrance to the property, and you can really utilize the property however you want to have a good time -- indoors or out. It's even beautiful in the winter b/c there is almost always a nice snow cover!

Perfect for our girls weekend

  • 5 of 5

We've stayed here three times and each time, we are so sad to leave. This house is amazing and the continuing upgrades just make it better each time. The hot tub, fire pit and outside shower are such a treat! The landscaping is gorgeous! There were 12 of us that stayed and everyone had such a great time. Can't wait until next year! Thanks Rob!

Great family get away

  • 5 of 5

We are a family of 7 adults and 7 children from ages 2 to 9. We had a wonderful time staying at this beautiful house! We spent time at the beach, shopping at the outlet mall, exploring nature and eating great food! I would go again. In fact our 9 year old granddaughter asked if we could stay a whole month! What a wonderful vacation!

Idyllic and Well-Maintained Getaway Close to Quiet Beaches and to Chicago

  • 5 of 5

This peaceful property in Beverly Shores made for a fantastic getaway for my wife and two 4 year old boys. The house itself is situated on a quiet, well-manicured lot, surrounded by trees and thoughtful landscaping. The front garden has a multi-level pond/stream, complete with resident frogs and accent lighting for the evening. The back yard is less landscaped, but includes large pine trees and a huge wraparound deck. While you can hear the passing trains along the lakeshore, the environment is peaceful.

Outside, you'll also find a gas grill that's like new as well as a hammock, situated among a grove of red pines. The wraparound deck is HUGE and there is plenty of furniture for guests to lounge and an outdoor sectional, ideal for an afternoon nap. There is also a very large hot tub near the gas grill that's clean, easy to operate and in great shape. Finally, there is a huge firepit, surrounded by new wooden Adirondack chairs.

The house, itself, is in immaculate condition. Built in 1948, the owners have updated the house throughout while maintaining the integrity of the structure. The A/C is virtually silent and the bathrooms are fully updated, despite the age of the property. All the beds are in great shape with firm mattresses and clean sheets. The kitchen is a bit small, but the appliances are all new and high-end. There is an expansive dining area with huge picture windows and a field-stone gas fireplace. There are more than enough beds and bathrooms to accommodate a fairly large group. Wifi and Dish network are also included (so the kids won't drive you crazy).

The property is located less than a mile from the Indiana Dunes, featuring sparsely populated beaches. You're also not far from Michigan City, so shopping is very convenient. Great options for delivery (I recommend Gelsosomo's Pizza) and for take out. There are several decent dining options nearby as well. If you need more than that, you're only an hour or so from Chicago so you can enjoy the tranquility of the Dunes shoreline as well as the nation's third largest city.

All in all, I can't think of anything negative to say about our stay. The owners clearly take great pride in the property and that shows in every detail. I strongly recommend this property to anyone seeking a spacious and modern rental, with NO unpleasant surprises and proximity to civilization while also offering a tranquil getaway.

Family Getaway

  • 5 of 5

My family and have been vacationing for years and mostly staying in the Southwest Michigan area. Once we noticed this property we took a chance and glad we did. The pictures don't do this property justice. We had 6 adults and 2 kids and had enough room to hang around and do our own things if we wanted to. The outside is really nice especially the fire pit and hot tub. The basement was a great place to hang out, watch movies and just lay around. The property is clean and well maintained. Rob was easy to work with and communicates very well.

The beach is very close but taking a car is much quicker. We enjoyed the beach everyday and stopped by The Rolling Stonebaker for pizza on our way home each time. The pizza was a nice touch between the beach and dinner time. We went to Bartlett's one night and didn't know how it would work with a large party and kids. Hands down they out did themselves. This restaurant is kid friendly and has awesome food.

As with any review we want to make sure we are unbiased. We went mid July and there were a lot of bugs at night which is common for any beach/national park area. Not much going on except if you head into Michigan City or you can even go to the Zoo. Not many restaurants, but you can walk to Bartlett's.

Having small children it would have been easier for us if the property had a high chair and a baby gate to block off the stairs going to the basement. Overall, we enjoyed our time here.
