About the property

House, 2 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 1 Bath, (Sleeps 3-5)

Ocean and Island and Mountain view

Artist Cottage under trees nestled in the foothills of Santa Barbra, amongst giant oaks and a Australian Morton Bay fig tree. Close to town and yet you feel like you are out in the country. Lots of natural light from the large artist windows.

Relax on one of three porches and look out at the ocean views or lie on the sofa in the lounge and look up the trees and watch the red tail hawks circling above. House remains cool on those hot summer days with great ventilation. And for those cooler nights relax on the large cushions in front of the natural wood-burning fire.

For the kids there is a rope swing hanging off Big Morton Bay fig tree. And a great yard to explore.

Santa Barbara is a 2 hour drive north from Los Angeles or a short hop from any corner of the world via the Santa Barbara airport. Santa Barbara's harbor is home to the world famous Stearns Wharf; a great destination for the entire family. The zoological gardens are known as a great family day-trip.

From the City, you are just minutes away from the Santa Barbara wine country. The gorgeous Santa Ynez Valley, with its breath-taking vistas, is home to such notable attractions as Solvang and the Chumash Reservation.

Whether you enjoy hiking, fine-dining, water sports, lazing on the beach, culture, or a great night-life, Santa Barbara has something for you.

Beautiful Cottage

  • 5 of 5

We had a lovely stay in the beautiful Cottage. The place is very clean and exactly what we needed. The private garden with the trees is very peaceful and the neighborhood is very quite. Would absolutely stay here again.

Nice, charming cottage

  • 4 of 5

This charming cottage worked well for the 3 of us for a short stay in SB. It's very homey and has lots or antiques, but modern kitchen and bath. We liked that it was away from the hustle and bustle of town, yet a short drive to there. Read the first review listed for lots of details! It was very much as described in the posting.

Very Healing Home to enjoy Santa Barbara !

  • 5 of 5

When I read this was in the Tree's I was not sure what it meant...

The attraction for me was the View of water and being close to town etc.

Being there is like being in a enchanted Forest ! Huge trees where ever you look.

Never thinking you are mins from all the Action in Santa Barbara.

The owner is very accommodating.. and helpful.... Always there a Text away.

While I stayed at this home as a retreat to regroup to returning to live in Santa Barbara

This home does lend itself it very well to having numerous people stay to enjoy each other company.

Perfect for a group visiting Santa Barbara , the floor plan of open space is excellent

French doors to deck from kitchen, master bedroom to front door.. creates a super flow

for outdoor entertaining or sunning.. playing etc... Very appropriate feng shui

There is a grill outside to cook and enjoy the best part of being in Santa Barbara

the wonderful climate and lack of bugs, flies to live outdoors. Why the windows

of this home are so cool... They open wide.. to let fresh air be part of the environment

This home lends itself also to romantic getaway due to it's privacy and warmth

The French doors in the master bedroom can be easily left open to enjoy nature outside

Sit outside or even bed and watch the stars, moon etc... Very quiet and peaceful surroundings.

Kitchen is equipped and easy to navigate for what ever one chooses to prepare.

It is also wonderful writer's paradise... due to all the various views... wide open windows

Plenty of reflection serendipity with the beauty of nature yet are right there near Mission in SB

Modern bath... beautiful hardwood floors... It is Home for all..

It is exactly as the photos show.. a sweet little cottage to enjoy the wonders of Santa Barbara.

Which are plentiful !! In every way... Sea, Gardens, Food, Wine, People, shopping , education, Arts.

Just right size, just right location

  • 5 of 5

We were able to get this house on short notice at a fair rate. The location was really neat. We know SB so it wasn't a problem getting around. The house has plenty of interior room, a great back yard, and is super-quiet and peaceful. The style is that of an old "Cabin" in the woods. I would love to know the history of the place. We want to use it again.

Really nice and quiet place to relax and unwind. I'd recommend the place for people with kids and dogs that love to explore the yard. Yard and patio are perfect for photographers. We had a nice, comfortable stay.

Magical Cottage

  • 5 of 5

This is a magical place filled with beautiful details and a warm personality. It is so quiet and peaceful with the garden and big trees. I enjoyed the privacy and yet being so close to everything. It is just minutes away from downtown State Street, great restaurants, shopping and the beaches! I was able to really relax and take in the Santa Barbara vibe. The place had everything I needed for a comfortable, homey stay. The kitchen was fully stocked with cooking and eating utensils, the washer/dryer and dishwasher made everything very convenient. The place was so clean and had a great deal of personality - such a nice change from hotel rooms. This cottage came complete with a large screen TV, fast internet, a fireplace, a fold out sofa bed, it had all the modern conveniences of home and yet maintained a cottage in the garden feel. It was very romantic to sit outside on the front porch and sip wine while the sun set over the city and the lights came out. The cool ocean breeze was always a welcome reprieve from the heat and so many windows to enjoy the breeze and the view. It is quaint and modern, private and romantic. With two bedrooms and a fold out sleeper couch, there was more than enough room to enjoy the space. A large sunning deck is just off the master bedroom and a cozy table among the many plants by the kitchen is the perfect place to unwind. This is one of Santa Barbara's premier neighborhoods and truly a welcome vacation experience. The owner is very sweet and she never intruded but was always helpful when I needed suggestions on where the locals go for fun and entertainment, shopping and dining. I really enjoyed my stay and it was so nice to be able to have my dog with me. I hope to go back soon and have told many of my friends about this magical cottage. .
