Fantastic Getaway

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I found this place online and it was exactly what was describled on the website. Its an amazing gem in the Adirondacks. We brought our 5 years white labrador to relax by the lake, go for nature walks and just get away from the hustle and busle of everyday life. This cabin was a perfect spot. the property was very well maintained the beach area had everything you needed. The cabin had everything you could ask for. the owners live on the property but they leave you alone but yet are there if you needed anything at all, they have two friendly labradors which greeted us often. If you are looking for a peacful getaway this is the place for you.

Spectacular Adirondack Experience!

  • 5 of 5

Our first time on Lake George and we definitely picked the right rental!! We made the turn onto the private road and were greeted by yellow labs as we got closer to the property. The owners home, Labrador Lodge, is next door to the cabin and they own two very friendly Labs. We are dog lovers, so this was a bonus for us. The property is exquisite! Landscaping is very rustic as is the cabin's exterior. It's a perfect size for 2-4 people. We had our own "Nature Walk" to our little beach on the lake (maybe 150 ft. away). We were allowed to use any of the water craft there - kayaks, paddle boat, rowboat, etc. It was great! There was even a fire pit with wood provided by the very friendly owners.

The cabin was cozy - a bedroom on each side and the kitchen and living room in the center. Again, a perfect layout and size for my husband & I. The kitchen was stocked with all cooking items, plates, etc., and there was a gas grill for BBQ'g. Eat in or out on the deck.

We were equidistant from Lake George Village and Bolton's Landing.

The cabin amenities and description for this listing are accurate. The owners were very responsive and happy to answer all my questions before and after arrival.

FYI for AT&T cell users, you won't have a signal at the cabin. We got signals at the lake or when we got about 1 mile away. There is free WiFi at the house, so you are not totally unconnected - unless you want to be. ;)

We went to the Adirondack Wine Festival, Fort Ticonderoga, Lake George Village, mini golf, road the Warren County Bike Trail, and to lunch at Sammy D's and dinner at Tavern on the Lake (both eateries HIGHLY recommended). The rest of the time we played on the lake, swam or took in all the peaceful nature surrounding us.

We had such a lovely time here - very quiet, relaxing and tranquil place. We HIGHLY recommend this rental!!

Oh - the lake even has Loons. That topped off this truly Adirondack experience.

Picture perfect spot

  • 5 of 5

This is a lovely small cabin in an idyllic setting. Although set a little back from the lake itself, there is a view of the lake from the deck - a perfect place for breakfast. The cabin itself is cosy and comfortable, with comfortable beds, and had everything we needed and was clean. We enjoyed hiking in the area - Crane Mountain, Hadley Mountain (magnificent views) and Black Mountain - all a bit of a drive but the views are worth it. Paddling round Trout Lake in the double kayak which was provided was fun as was swimming in the crystal clear water. We enjoyed sitting in the Adirondack chairs on the beach with a glass of wine in the early evening and enjoying the view and the peace and quiet.

A lovely relaxing 4 day stay for the 2 of us.

A great week away!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I had a great week on Trout Lake. The cabin was very cozy and had everything we needed. Our dog came with us on vacation for the first time. She doesn't get along with other dogs and the owners were very accommodating and kept their dogs close to the main house - which was much appreciated. The lake is beautiful and the location is very relaxing and quiet. Due to the time of year there wasn't a lot open in Lake George during our stay and it was a little cold (or rainy) to be on the lake much - but we did enjoy one day kayaking and they had everything ready and waiting for us to use. We hiked the Tongue Mountain range, Shelving Rock Falls, and the Thomas and Cat Mountains up to the cabin (really worth the view). A truly beautiful spot!

Close to everything yet far enough away

We found the cabin exactly as described and reviewed ( minus the horrible review from Mike) We traveled with our 22 month old son and yellow lab. We loved that the cabin is minutes from both Lake George and Bolton Landing as they both offer very different "Atmospheres and things to do ". This is our fourth year to this area ( Lake George Village ,Glen falls and Bolton Landing in the past ) and we found this location to be the best of them all. Trout Lake is a small peaceful and Tranquil lake. The private beach is well maintained and offers all the water toys needed to enjoy the lake. Ray and Claire and their two dogs greeted us warmly and were friendly on all encounters. We have never rented a home in which the owners occupied the same property, we had reservations about it however you rarely see them and they defiantly respect your privacy and "space" . We Visited and Hiked the trail at Prospect Mountain, Magic Forrest and went to the Adirondack Nationals and otherwise just enjoyed the cabin, lake and private area in which it sits in. I would highly recommend this property.

Great Vacation!

  • 5 of 5

Our family of four had a wonderful time at Trout Lake. The cabin was cozy, clean and comfortable, and the beach and lake were amazing. My children (ages 9 and 6) enjoying kayaking, canoeing, fishing, swimming and playing in the water and on the beach with the multitude of water toys provided by the owners. The sandy beach entry in the warm lake waters was perfect for my younger child. The cabin is close enough to both Bolton's Landing (3 miles) and Lake George to pop in and out of town to eat and shop. We took advantage of the rail-to-trail bike path in Lake George, hiked Buck Mountain and went boating on Lake George. It was always nice to return to the quiet of Trout Lake in the evenings. We highly recommend this property!
