Overview

About the property

Cabin, 2 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 6)

Our home is located on the Big Tallapoosa River, not far from hwy. 48 bridge. We have over 250 feet of water front in a quiet cove. Our private boat dock has lounge chairs, an umbrella upstairs, a boat slip, and a sitting area down below. The neighborhood BOAT LAUNCH is right across the street! The main level of our home is a large area with dining table and chairs as well as a bar height counter with stools. Another section is devoted to watching the flat screen TV while resting on the leather sofa and other comfortable chairs. The kitchen is also on this level with high end stainless appliances. We have almost everything you could need in a kitchen: mixer, cookie sheets, slow cooker. There is a full bathroom on this level with tile floors and granite counter tops.

This main level consists of 3 walls of windows and hickory hardwood floors. There are French doors leading from this level onto the covered deck facing the lake. There are chairs for shaded sitting while watching the fishing, skiing and swimming going on. Downstairs are two bedrooms and a full bath. The master bedroom is quite large with a laundry room and walk in closet. There is a king size bed, large leather recliner and a flat screen TV as well as a wardrobe for clothing. This room has windows facing the lake and French doors leading to a patio. The second bedroom has a full bed and a set of twin beds. The door between the full bedroom and the bunk beds will close for additional privacy. This room also has French doors exiting onto the patio.

The outdoor area has an outdoor stereo system, table and chairs for dining as well as Pottery Barn sofas for entertaining or napping and a new Weber gas grill. We supply the wood for the fire pit which is great for roasting those marshmallows!!!

About The Owner

My husband is addicted to fishing and has had this cabin for 15 years. My children and I would not stay at the cabin with him until we could really enjoy it and feel at home. Now we can. And to all you fishermen---yes he does want us to be there.

Why The Owner chose Lake Wedowee - RL Harris Reservoir

250 FEET OF WATER FRONT. NICE COVE FOR SWIMMING OR ENJOYING OUR HUGE FLOAT. GENTLE SLOPING LOT.

Quiet Retreat

  • 4 of 5

I would like to give this rental a 5 star review and a few improvements would make it perfect. The owners are great people, dependable, and worked hard to make our stay wonderful. The house had many more amenities than I expected. The kitchen has nearly every accommodation one could want, although dishwasher didn't clean so well, probably something stuck in wand. I think they would have addressed this if I had brought it up, but we only used it toward the end of our stay. Very considerate of the Miles to supply dish soap, dish detergent, trash bags, bug spray, paper towels, lots of kitchen utensils, quality cook/bake ware etc. The living room was comfortable and spacious with smart TV & a great theater, nice variety of DVDs, although could benefit from an instruction card to get everything going faster (newbie not familiar with the setup). It would also be of great help for the many electrical switches to be labeled, this alone took up some unnecessary time to learn. When we arrived, the house looked clean, but as soon as fans were turned on, dust came out in large quantities. The owner came out and dusted shortly after I mentioned it to her, but dust still kept coming. Maybe it's just stuffing coming out of comfy living room furniture, because we did not see it downstairs at all. The beds were nice, choice of firm or soft, again, high quality furnishings. Bedrooms quite comfortable. Only a slight slope to water/deck, easy walk. Nice deck chairs for fishing, with a canoe, life jackets, paddles, etc. Waterscape was just beautiful. That alone was worth it for us!

Great stay for the family. Just what we wanted.

  • 5 of 5

This is country living. Out in the boonies, but just what we needed. Owner is involved and helpful. House is a home and not just a rental. Great location on the lake. Pretty views all day and night long.

Just bring everything you need with you because the drive to civilization is a long one. Finding the house is difficult but doable. Bring the fishing rods, suntan oils, and fun.

The satellite tv did not work in the bedroom, but the great room worked out fine. I'd recommend this property.

Relaxing and fun

  • 5 of 5

What a comfy, cozy, relaxing home. We really enjoyed sitting on the porch watching the rain. The dock is close to the house that made things very easy to get to the boat. It was very clean. Pam was very helpful. I will be staying again next year.

Perfect!

  • 5 of 5

The lake house is beautiful and in a perfect spot on the lake. We have stayed there for a week during the summer for the past several years and it never disappoints. We fish, swim, do water sports, and just relax. Thanks to Matt for giving us a tow on the last day due to boat mechanical issues. Looking forward to our next visit.

AWESOME AND BEAUTIFUL PLACE!!

  • 5 of 5

This house is the most quiet and serene place ever!! The house and the location were great. Mrs. Pam was very nice and attentive to any of our needs. The house was furnished with everything you would need for the perfect getaway! The sunrises and sunsets were beautiful! I highly recommend bringing all the food essentials you need because there is no place close by. And if you have a large boat like we do I highly recommend you put in at the marina where as the ramps are larger and wider.

We will definitely return again!! Thanks again to Mr. And Mrs. Miles!!

Great hidden location and warm inviting layout

  • 5 of 5

My coworker and I used this house as we were intown on business. It wasn't too far from downtown Wedowee, but we felt we were on vacation when we came back to the house. The fishing was great, rooms were clean, upstairs had a nice layout. Nothing negative to say at all! I would recommend this place to anyone.
