Marblehead House Rental Photos and Description

5 Bedrooms, 3 Bathrooms, sleeps 9

The home is a historic house from the early 1800s, but renovated, updated, and remodeled in 2002. It has over 4000 square feet of living area and is located on Washington Square across from the landmark, Abbot Hall. It has off street parking for two cars - a major plus in a summer tourist area. There is a flagstone patio and a large private garden.

The first floor of the house consist of a comfortable living room with fireplace, a formal dining room, a den, a bath and a large modern kitchen with an eating area next to the kitchen fireplace. The large bedrooms are upstairs on the second and third floors, with a central bath on each floor. These rooms are bright and airy with partial views of the harbor. The new furniture fits the colonial style of the home. Three flat screen TVs - one on each floor and a DVD player are provided. The house is very bright (35 windows and 3 sky lights). For winter heating there are two furnaces with separate controls for lower and upper floors.

Beautiful home in historic Marblehead

  • 5 of 5

We would definitely recommend staying in this beautiful location. The house was very comfortable, spacious and spotlessly clean. It is located centrally in Marblehead in the historic quarter. The harbour and town centre (with a good choice of shops, cafes and restaurants) are less than 10 minutes walk in either direction. We caught the bus to sightsee in Boston and used the train from Salem. Marblehead is ideally placed to sightsee further round the coast and has a good choice of out of town shopping malls (our teenage children particularly liked Nordstrum Rack!). The off-street parking was a real bonus (and rare here!) and essential for us, as our visit was over the Easter break and the off-street snow restrictions were still enforced. We felt privileged to stay in such a beautiful home and would definitely stay here again.

Fabulous house in wonderful location

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in the house for three months October November December 2011. This was a retirement trip for ourselves and allowed us to enjoy Fall Thanksgiving and Christmas in the US and we couldn't have picked a better spot. The house was large enough for our family to join us for the holidays and the location was beautiful. Marblehead is a delightful town with so much to offer and very friendly locals. This was an excellent area for access to Boston and the delights of New England, giving us the benefits of a cosy home to return to in between trips.

Wonderful house and wonderful location

  • 5 of 5

We spent a week here and truly enjoyed ourselves. This house is spacious and well maintained and the off street parking is a real bonus. Directly across the street from the house is Abbot Hall where you can go in and see the painting Spirit of 76. This was an amazing discovery for us! The town of Marblehead is fun to explore and offers tourists a variety of things to do. We also took public transportation into Boston twice and found that very convenient and easy. You will definitely enjoy your stay here!
