"Moore to Life" is a perfect fit for vacationers in need of a modern and spacious beach house. This home is located in the heart of Folly Beach. Leave the car parked and walk over to the local restaurants and shops. A path leading from the back yard to a local beach access makes for a nice short cut to the ocean. The main floor of the house has a very welcoming and open floor plan with walnut hardwood floors throughout and features a fully equipped gourmet kitchen with granite counter tops and stainless appliances. The living area comfortably seats the entire group for games, conversation or watching movies on the flat screen TV. The spacious master bedroom is located on the main floor and has a king size bed with designer linens, fully tiled master bath with a separate water closet, dual vanity, a tiled rainwater shower and separate garden tub. There is a large front and side porch that invites visitors to relax in one of the hardwood rockers, listen to the ocean surf and feel the wonderful breezes.
The second floor of the home has a large loft area perfect for children and teenagers with a wall-mounted flat screen TV and a pull-out sofa bed. There is also a kid’s play closet perfect for the little ones. The second bedroom has a queen bed and shares a “Jack and Jill” bath with the third bedroom. The queen bedroom has a separate bonus room with two twin beds that is ideal for infant naps, or teens who might like to sleep late. We also provide a Pack-N-Play as well as a toddler bed for guests with infants. The third bedroom has two sets of bunk beds – one with a double mattress on the bottom which can accommodate Mom, Dad, and three kids. All of the bedrooms have spacious closets. The parking area underneath the house has room for four large vehicles and is also a perfect place for little ones to play during the occasional rainy day.
The beach is ideal for surfing, swimming, fishing, or just walking and collecting sea shells and is a short walk down the adjacent community path and through a wooded lot.
Center Street Folly Beach is a few minutes walk to shopping, restaurants, and nightlife. Known as the "Edge of America," Folly Beach is a unique blend of laid-back charm and modern amenities. Also, don't forget to make time for Historic Charleston! Folly is the closest beach to Charleston, located only 15 minutes from downtown shopping and world class dining. You can visit the aquarium, stroll through the famous plantations, enjoy a sunset cruise through Charleston Harbor or take a carriage ride through downtown.

My husband and I live with our two children outside of Atlanta. We purchased our home in 2007 brand new and have loved every minute of our time spent in the home, on the beaches, in Charleston, surfing, hanging out in Folly. We have also spent a lot of time making this house truly a HOME. This feeling is one I am sure you will also experience when you come stay at 219 West Hudson. We want you to feel as at home as we do when we're enjoying our wonderful home.
We were looking for a place that had a unique personality, beautiful beaches, close proximity to great restaurants and culture and a place that did not feel just like every other beach community. We found all this in Folly. Folly has its own unique quirky charm (just check out Bert's Market and you'll see for yourself) yet is surprisingly close to Charleston with five star restaurants and an amazing sense of history and heritage.
Because we have two small children we take advantage of the two playgrounds on the island. One is behind the Methodist Church on West Indian and the other under the water tower on the west side of town. I have also taken surf lessons for the past two years through Shakra Surf School. The women who run the school are amazing surfers and very patient with newbies. We always go to Bert's Market for an ice cream or a bottle of wine. You also cannot pass up Tokyo Crepes - located one half block west of Snapper Jacks. It is run by a woman and her boyfriend out of the back of a truck. Don't let the looks deceive you. The chicken teriyaki crepe is AMAZING. I crave it whenever I am not on the island! You also must try a local favorite -- LOST DOG Cafe. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are stellar but get there early on the weekend to avoid the lines. There is also a small spa on the island called Michelle's. They have great massages and facials all at reasonable prices! You can't go wrong on Folly.
We have enjoyed every minute we've spent here this week. Thank you for sharing your home with us. We were able to visit Charleston quite a few times and enjoy the beach. Absolutely perfect!
The house is a rare find, very pretty, very open with great spaces for the adults and the kids. The only issue our group has is the 4BR destinction, what they are calling a BR is a closet with two single beds smashed into the closet. Adults can't fit in the room given the severe angle of the ceiling/roof and we planned adults to sleep in there, now we're trying to figure out how to determine sleeping arrangements.
We just completed our stay at this lovely home and had a blast! The home is so close to the beach, as well as a little park down the road....great for kids! Can walk to both. It's decorated so nicely with a large kitchen and great layout! The upstairs has a pack n play, toys, books, and even board games for kids. The drive to downtown Charleston was simple and around 20-25 min. Nice to go there and come back to Folly Beach to relax.
The photos of this house don't do it justice. The house is spacious and laid out beautifully, and the finishes are top-notch. The two-minute walk to the beach and Center St. can't be beat. I would absolutely rent this gorgeous home again, and recommend it to anyone look to rent in charming Folly Beach.
This house was perfect for a bachelorette weekend with 10 ladies. The house and everything in it is very new and everyone was impressed the moment we got there. The house is spactious with a great kitchen for a group that enjoyed cooking. The walk to the beach is less than 5 minutes. The drive to downtown Charleston is 20-25 mintutes, and the drive to the airport is 30-35 minutes. A cab ride into Charelston is $40-$50 but if you split it's not too bad. I would definitely stay here again.
A wonderful Thanksgiving week with our family in a good house. Great location! Kids loved the bunk bed room. Only gripes being the Queen bed upstairs was so hard I slept in the twin bed in the back room. We have been renting houses for 10 years and the following items are always provided for us. However here we had to purchase Trash bags, liquid dish soap, dishwasher detergent, paper towels, Tea Towels (there was just one!) and toilet paper (there was 2 rolls upon check in)
I hosted a bachelorette long weekend for my girlfriend and we loved this house! Everyone had plenty of space, nice bedrooms, good size kitchen and sitting area, and plenty of parking for those that rented cars/drove in. It's an extremely short walk to the beach right out of the backyard. Not worth trying to pay for a beach house, this was essentially right there. There was beach construction going on at the time we came which I wish we were forewarned about but we just walked down the beach a bit and found a nice spot by a beach bar for easy access. I would definitely stay here again for a beach getaway. We took cabs into the city for dinner and bars Friday and Saturday - bit pricey, but split btwn 11 girls helped. I took recommendations from the rental property on cab numbers to call which was helpful as well so we could schedule pick-up times.
Within three blocks of small playground, two blocks from downtown Folly restaurants and shops, 2.5 miles from Piggly Wiggly, 15 minutes from downtown Charleston, 10 minutes to theaters and shopping.
