This beach house is unique on the Carpinteria beach with private patios and a front yard on the sand. It is a great place for family and friends to gather and enjoy the best beach in Santa Barbara County. Views of the Santa Barbara Channel Islands, beautiful sunsets and early morning beach walks make a visit here truly special.
The house is spacious and has bed rooms upstairs and downstairs. Family room has a wood burning fireplace. We make this home available when not in use by our family. Go to this link to see my favorite nearby places http://bit.ly/11A285v

I have been enjoying the Carpinteria beach all my life and still find it as one of the best places to be. I am still thrilled to see the marine life such as the coastal bottle nose dolphin, harbor seals, brown pelicans and so many other shore birds that are always around. I enjoy ocean wildlife photography and do have some examples on the walls of our family beach house. The beach is always changing making something new to see each visit.
The Owner purchased this house in 1953
We have had this house in our family since it was built in 1953. Although it has undergone four remodels over the years, it still has the original adobe walls made right in Carpinteria. The house has a charm that is its own.
The property is a beach house, not a condo. This makes it more spacious, a lot quieter, with private patios and its own palm frond umbrella in front. The kitchen area is quite large so there is adequate space for a gathering in the kitchen dining area to enjoy. We have rented the house as a vacation rental for decades and have some friends that have rented every year for over 20 years, a testament to its appeal.
We rented this house for a week surrounding the Cate School graduation. It was a perfect spot for our extended family, ranging in age from 18 to 85. The house is perfectly located for walking on the beach or to restaurants in town. Carpinteria is a wonderful town and the beach is fantastic. Plenty of space inside and two great outside sitting areas plus the beach. Plenty of privacy. Everything was well maintained and the kitchen and grill had everything you could need to cook. Great communication with the owner. Can't say enough great things about our stay.
Carpinteria is the best beach vacation spot in California, as far as I'm concerned. We've stayed in this house many times, starting in the 80s, long before upgrades to the current configuration. As many others have said, it's ideal for a family reunion, with four bedrooms, and sleeping up to 10 (four would have to share the downstairs bedroom, equipped with a queen and two twins). The kitchen is terrific, well-equipped and with room for a couple of cooks, but it may be time to upgrade the tile countertop to something more easily cleaned. The beds are better than I had remembered; the ones in our bedroom had memory foam mattress toppers and were quite comfortable. Sheets and towels were good quality. I took away a star because of the gas grill on the patio. I had looked forward to cooking at least a couple of meals on it but it was heavily encrusted with grease and grunge, and I could not get it to light, even after referring to an online manual. The winter beach berm spoiled the ocean view from downstairs but we knew it was going to be in place so it wasn't a surprise. We'd stay again in a heartbeat but would check the grill on arrival.
This rental is perfectly located to enjoy all the great things to do in Carpinteria. It also has great outdoor spaces if you just want to stay home at the beach.
It is a well-maintained, well-equipped, spacious house. It had everything we needed to cook, hang out at the beach, and relax outside. They even left wood for our first evening fire. The wood burning fireplace made the chilly January evenings warm and toasty.
The owners were very quick in our email communications and great to chat with when we met up to get the keys and learn about they house. They provide helpful information and are available for questions, but are not at all intrusive while you're there.
We hated to see our week come to an end and look forward to another stay in the future.
This is a great house for a family reunion. There are plenty of spaces to get together, and to find some space apart. It is right on the beach, with enough privacy to feel secluded. I will rent this house again!
Wow, what a location! We booked this house for my daughter's graduation. We had extended family come so there was plenty of room for everybody. The weather was beautiful and we got to witness lots of dolphins playing in the water, also a few whale sightings. I am very thankful to the owners for allowing us the rare opportunity to live on the beach for a long weekend. Paradise is quite amazing. If you want to experience a little bit of paradise in your life, this is the place. We "almost" called in sick for the graduation so we could stay on the beach all day. My only issue was the condition of the bar-b-q. I was planning on having a big bar-b-q celebration dinner for my daughter's graduation and was very disappointed with the bar-b-q, it was rusted and missing ceramic plates, not useable. So I had to hire a catering service to save the dinner plans which cost me much more than I had planned. I take part blame because I should have asked the owners instead of going by the pictures they provided with the beautiful side yard and bar-b-q with the table. The only other thing was the condition of the mattresses, especially the upstairs queen. Other then that it was fantastic. We will definitely come back. As soon as I got home I checked the website to see if we can book again later this summer but sadly it is all booked up. Not surprised.
We've rented this house twice, and it is everything for which we could wish. I love that it's owner operated, and I constantly pause to view the many family pictures showing decades of their special memories in this special house. Communicating with the owners couldn't be easier, and we especially adore Matt, who will meet you at the house and who works for the city of Carp.
It's amazing how well-cared for this house it, especially since it is right on the beach and subject to the elements, but it is even better this year that two years ago when we stayed! The garden is charming, and the furnishings are spot-on beachy. There's plenty of utensils and cookware, linens, and little extras to give the comfort of home. We are so grateful to have had the privilege of renting this little piece of paradise.
