This three-bedroom A-frame ranch is located on the best fishing cove on Lake Barkley - McNabb Creek Bay. Relax on the deck enjoying the million-dollar view or explore the many great features available in the surrounding towns. You have almost complete privacy with total peace and quiet, surrounded by woods and woodland creatures such as owls, deer, and raccoons.
This house is completely furnished, including bed linens, a fully-stocked kitchen featuring a side-by-side refrigerator with ice and water dispensers, glass cook top, dishwasher, oven, and microwave. A great collection of board games and cards as well as a HD TV with Dish Network satellite TV and a DVD player with video collection provide entertainment indoors. Ceiling fans in bedrooms, kitchen, and sunroom. In the fall, enjoy a great fire in the massive stone fireplace.
The master bedroom features a queen bed, built-in dresser, and bathroom with stall shower. The other two bedrooms have double beds and dressers. Upstairs are two small sleeping lofts that can accommodate your own inflatable mattresses or sleeping bags. Of course, the two sofas in the living room are perfect for afternoon naps!
The main bathroom has double sinks, stall shower, and washer and dryer for your laundry needs.
A boat dock is available for your use with moorings for at least two boats. The Dryden Creek boat launch is approximately three miles away. Park your boat trailer or RV in the turnaround next to the driveway and park your cars under the 2-car carport. Go for a swim off the dock or lay out your towel to catch some rays. We have a designated fire pit for evening fires by the lake.
Forget your worries and enjoy a stress-free vacation at Rainbow Retreat Lake Barkley!
We were fortunate to buy this wonderful home from our friends in September 2013 and our plan is to retire here in a few short years. Until we are able to make that dream a reality, we want you to continue to enjoy our home and make it yours during your stay with us.
Misty purchased this house in 2013
The first time we walked out on the deck and looked out at the lake, with a perfect view down the bay to the main lake and the Land Between the Lakes (LBL), we knew we had found our waterfront paradise. We appreciate the fact that you are making lasting memories here at Rainbow Retreat. Lake Barkley is so beautiful and we like to think that you have the best view on the lake. The sunset is just breath taking as you sit and relax on the deck. The morning time is very peaceful as you sit and have coffee you can listen to all the nature that surrounds you.
We loved sharing the house with friends, both old and new.
Breakfast on the sun porch, drinks on the deck at sunset, hikes up the road with the dogs, driving the boat up toward Eddyville and the 'state pen' or downriver toward Cadiz and the Lake Barkley State Resort Park.
Best Vacation Place on the lake. This was our third year and we just love it. The house is well stocked and beautiful. You can swim and catch all the fish you want from the dock. Sitting on the deck you see some of the most beautiful scenery. We really treasure our time their it truly is a wonderful place to stay. I could easily live there. We are ready for next year. Thank you for sharing your home with us
This is our fourth year in a row staying at Rainbow Retreat. Once again we had a great time boating, fishing, and taking in the sights. Loved cooking out on the porch with a great view of McNabb Bay. Unlike many of the places on the lake the incline from the house to the lake is not bad, even for us older people. As always Misty and her crew were there with anything we might have needed. Thanks to all for providing a great getaway home. We are looking forward to our next visit.
This is the third year to make this place our home on the water. McNabb Bay is our favorite bay for water skiing. A well stocked kitchen, a beautiful view off the porch, a down home feel to the cabin, hours of fun and relaxation with family. We will be back!
We had 4 adults & 2 dogs in our group for a 7 day stay. The wide open living/dining room gave us lots of space to spread out. Also loved the big deck trimmed in lights. There is a bookcase filled with novels if u have some downtime. Short walk from house to dock! The view from the deck at sunrise is fabulous. I will definitely visit Rainbow Retreat again.
We had a great time staying at Rainbow Retreat. The cottage was better stocked than we had anticipated with everything vacationers could need. I loved the ability to throw in a load of laundry. The a/c worked great, the kitchen was very well equipped, the view from the deck was wonderful, they were even prepared for our pup with food/water dishes. The best part was being able to walk out to the dock and hop on our boat at any time. I would suggest though that if you have a sizable boat (our boat and trailer are about 30') that you drop it off at Eddy Creek Marina first because the road to the cottage is one lane and curvy (fun to drive though) to launch was free, and we were able to keep our trailer at the marina for $5 a night. Well worth it. There was a lot of wildlife and the fishing was pretty good given the weather challenges. Overall, this was a great waterfront cottage that we wouldn't hesitate to visit again.
My family and I enjoyed this nice little getaway on Lake Barkley. There were 8 adults and a toddler. The deck was very popular! Getting up early with a toddler and just hanging out on the deck enjoying the quietness and hearing birds chirping, watching fish jumping, and a boat or barge running down the lake every now and then. The view from the corner of the deck was awesome! We enjoyed fishing in the cove and laying around in tubes and floats in the lake. We took a day to head to Paducah downtown, stopped by the 4 Rivers Harley store, and eating at Patti's Settlement. Then another day we rented a Sport Pontoon and the kids got to ski and tube on the lake. Kitchen was well equipped with what we needed. We cooked every night but one. Nice to have a gas grill. And we enjoyed the firepit several nights (even though it was in the 90s that week) --for roasted marshmallows, smores, and even a hot apple pie night. A/C worked great! Humidifier was a blessing! And washer and dryer very nice! Nice to have paper towels, dishwashing detergent and liquid, even washer detergent available. Linens were plentiful and extra pillows to boot! Only negative would be that the deck isn't too toddler friendly -- had to make sure he stayed away from the railing, but it was wide enough to put his blowup pool on and to even ride his 4wheeler. We had a very relaxing vacation. Thank you allowing us to enjoy your home!
