This past weekend, we stayed in the Carriage house. The cottage location was quiet and it worked out really well for us, close to the train station and uber rides to downtown and Lincoln Park were reasonable. It's under a mile to Wrigley field if you're planning on attending a game. My husband and I stayed there with my daughter and her husband. The bathrooms were well supplied with large soft towels as well as a few toiletry items. Cynthia was wonderful and provided us with breakfast foods including great coffee and even a bottle of champagne. I was also very grateful for Cynthia who promptly mailed me some clothing items which I had forgotten in a dresser drawer. She was the best!
The house was better than we could have expected. We arrived to pastries, fruit, candy and fresh coffee waiting for us. The owner was wonderful and very accommodating. I will be staying here again on my future travels to Chicago.
Everything about this carriage house was awesome! From its location on a quiet, tree-lined side street to the quirky, fun decor, we couldn't have asked for anything better for our Chicago getaway. Cynthia was the perfect hostess and provided everything from fresh flowers to a fully stocked fridge with wine and chocolate. The home is a 15 minute ride from downtown Chicago and a short walk to the train station and Lake Michigan. The stairs are steep so if you have mobility issues, this home is not for you. But otherwise, if you are looking for a quiet and homey place to rest while you take in everything that Chicago has to offer, the Graceland Carriage House is the place for you!
Our family (two adults two children) stayed at the Graceland carriage for three nights to start our vacation in Chicago. Cynthia couldn't have been more welcoming, attentive or helpful. She generously stocked the fridge with breakfast goods, fruit and even a few beers! Fresh flowers decorated the property and everything was exceptionally clean, well appointed and comfortable. The area was quiet and safe and we were close enough to the lake to jog there and back one morning. The air conditioning was a godsend during a very hot summer. The property had so many beautiful and unique features and we immediately felt at home after a long journey. I cannot recommend this property highly enough for a stay in Chicago and I will certainly return if I have the opportunity to holiday in Chicago again. Thank you Cynthia!
This home is filled with beautiful details and welcoming touches. The owner, Cindy, was friendly and helpful and was quick to respond to all correspondence and questions. She even provided items we requested for breakfasts as well as some special treats. The neighborhood is lovely and quiet, and we enjoyed local restaurants and shops during our stay. We felt completely at home and thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.
My wife, daughter and I were in my old home town for a wedding. What a great place to use as a jumping off point. Walk to Wrigley Field, beautiful, safe neighborhood, a big change since I lived close by, and a really nice, well appointed house. Owners were really great. Quiet, friendly area with nice restaurants within walking distance. Highly recommend it if you are looking for a charming place to stay in Chicago.
