About the property

Holualoa Cottage Studio minutes to Downtown Kona and Beaches

Lovely Mauka Studio Cottage on 5 Acre Horse Property yet minutes to downtown Kailua-Kona and Beaches.

This slice of Hawaiian Heaven is located on the temperate side of Hualalai Mountain, home to the finest coffee in the world, Kona Coffee. The beautiful vistas from our property over look our pastures with grazing Calves and Horses, the neighboring Coffee Farms and on to the Beautiful Kona Coastline and Ocean Horizon views that will amaze you with incredible Sunsets. The three stall Cedar Barn is home to Gilda, our Friesian mare and her 1/2 Arabian Colt, Kuu Ipo. There is also one wonderful loveable Dog, Bella and a White Homing Pigeon named Pearl Jam. Of course we shouldn't leave out the flocks of Wild Turkeys, Parrots, Franklins, Doves, and the variety of wild Pheasant and Birds that insist on visiting every day. Your nights will have the pleasant sounds of a variety of frogs.

The Cottage is located on the quiet side of the main house and pool with commanding Coastline and Ocean Views of its own. We are a non-smoking property. The cozy studio includes a small refrigerator, coffee maker, microwave, dishes and utensils. There is also a large flat screen TV and WiFi.

We are located approximately 2.5 miles from the Wonderful Quaint Artist Community of Holualoa Town, an Historic small town overlooking Kailua-Kona. This charming old Hawaiian Town boasts several beautiful local Artist Galleries, an acclaimed Restaurant, a small General Store, a country Post Office, Library, School, Churches and lots of old style Coffee Shack buildings. Of course there is a great Coffee House with Fresh Baked Goodies to enjoy as you stroll the Galleries. Kailua-Kona, beaches, restaurants and shopping are just minutes down the mountain.

Our home sits approximately 2200 feet above downtown Kailua-Kona. A bit cooler than sea level the nights are perfect for sleeping and the days perfect for activities. Our day time temperatures rarely exceed 85 degrees even in Summer.

Come experience a side of Hawaii that most people never get to see, yet so close to Kona, Shopping and all beach activities. Come enjoy our Country Hospitality smothered in Aloha but please understand this is a no tobacco smoking property. Mahalo!

Beautiful location!

  • 5 of 5

Best of Kona area! Close enough to beaches & town but out of the way, secluded & quiet - I slept so peacefully when I was there. Sidnie & Wayne are the best hosts, so friendly & I fell in love with Bella, their dog!

Stay here if you are not a "resort" person & you won't regret it!

Aloha xo

Great Hill Top Getaway

This welcoming and nicely appointed cabin was my perfect retreat after daytime adventures both at the water and around Holualoa. Sidnie and Wayne are great hosts.

Will absolutely be back here!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I felt this place was perfect for us. I am not a wordy reviewer, so here are the highlights:

- Sidnie and Wayne are exceptional hosts.

- Cottage was very clean. Had everything we needed.

- Bed was comfortable.

- Deck was so nice. Sat there lots. Fabulous view and surroundings.

- Cool nights at this elevation made for great sleeps!

- We really enjoyed using the pool.

I really can't express how comfortable we were here, and we felt we were getting good value, too. We would absolutely return.

Great place. Adorable and comfortable. Well built. The hosts are very nice. The air is fresh and the coqui frogs sing a soothing lullaby. Very private. Town just down the hill.

Fabulous place for a couple. Beautiful views and a nice clean home!

  • 5 of 5

I truly enjoyed staying at this place. Perfect for one or 2 people. Close to everything but quiet and secluded if you want to get away from the town. Great views of the ocean and beautiful surroundings all around.

The perfect Kona retreat!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I stayed here for 5 nights and absolutely loved it! The cottage is the perfect size, comfortable and clean! Sidnie and Wayne are gracious and kind hosts! The cottage had everything we needed - microwave, refrigerator, coffee pot, toaster, and hair dryer. Sidnie let us borrow beach chairs and boogie boards also! She recommended a few beautiful beaches that we greatly enjoyed! I loved sitting on the porch in the morning watching the beautiful horses, cattle and wildlife on the mountain! I highly recommend this beautiful getaway to anyone visiting The Big Island!!
