Holualoa Cottage Studio minutes to Downtown Kona and Beaches
Lovely Mauka Studio Cottage on 5 Acre Horse Property yet minutes to downtown Kailua-Kona and Beaches.
This slice of Hawaiian Heaven is located on the temperate side of Hualalai Mountain, home to the finest coffee in the world, Kona Coffee. The beautiful vistas from our property over look our pastures with grazing Calves and Horses, the neighboring Coffee Farms and on to the Beautiful Kona Coastline and Ocean Horizon views that will amaze you with incredible Sunsets. The three stall Cedar Barn is home to Gilda, our Friesian mare and her 1/2 Arabian Colt, Kuu Ipo. There is also one wonderful loveable Dog, Bella and a White Homing Pigeon named Pearl Jam. Of course we shouldn't leave out the flocks of Wild Turkeys, Parrots, Franklins, Doves, and the variety of wild Pheasant and Birds that insist on visiting every day. Your nights will have the pleasant sounds of a variety of frogs.
The Cottage is located on the quiet side of the main house and pool with commanding Coastline and Ocean Views of its own. We are a non-smoking property. The cozy studio includes a small refrigerator, coffee maker, microwave, dishes and utensils. There is also a large flat screen TV and WiFi.
We are located approximately 2.5 miles from the Wonderful Quaint Artist Community of Holualoa Town, an Historic small town overlooking Kailua-Kona. This charming old Hawaiian Town boasts several beautiful local Artist Galleries, an acclaimed Restaurant, a small General Store, a country Post Office, Library, School, Churches and lots of old style Coffee Shack buildings. Of course there is a great Coffee House with Fresh Baked Goodies to enjoy as you stroll the Galleries. Kailua-Kona, beaches, restaurants and shopping are just minutes down the mountain.
Our home sits approximately 2200 feet above downtown Kailua-Kona. A bit cooler than sea level the nights are perfect for sleeping and the days perfect for activities. Our day time temperatures rarely exceed 85 degrees even in Summer.
Come experience a side of Hawaii that most people never get to see, yet so close to Kona, Shopping and all beach activities. Come enjoy our Country Hospitality smothered in Aloha but please understand this is a no tobacco smoking property. Mahalo!

Wonderful!!!
This was the perfect getaway for my solo trip to the Big Island. I wanted to be in a remote location. The views are spectacular and cottage is peaceful. Sidnie and Wayne are warm and welcoming hosts. I will return!
Charming unit
gracious owners & charming comfortable unit where you will feel close to nature.
Nice property with great view
This is a pretty cottage in beautiful country. Friendly owners who give you your space and privacy. Bella the dog is a sweetheart. Bring your own shampoo and soap. It is a good drive up from the beach area and other areas of interest so we tended to not drop in during the day.
Paradise on the mountain
What a breath of fresh air! A gorgeous little cabin with fridge and microwave, a deck that looks out to the ocean below, sounds of frogs, crickets, and birds. No traffic, no sounds of people. It was just what I needed. An oasis. Sidnie and Wayne were welcoming and helpful and warm. I had a great time.
Missing My Cottage on the Hill!
I stayed here for 2 weeks in March and just fell in love with the place!
Wayne and Sidnie are fantastic hosts- warm and welcoming. I felt like part of the family :) Thank you both!
I do believe that dogs are our best friends and felt like I was leaving one behind when I left Bella, their dog, who is the sweetest dog on earth. I cried when I had to leave her!
I love horses too, so Ipo and Gilda just added to the joy I felt being there. When they're allowed to run the property, it's a glorious sight!
Horses, cows, turkey's, frogs , birds...all the sights and sounds of the country just 20 minutes away from Kailua town and 5 minutes from the quaint village of Holualoa.
I definitely recommend it, especially if you love animals. They are my therapy in this crazy life, so I was in heaven!
Great getaway
Great stay up on the hillside! Did our day trips and returned to country relaxation on the mountain. Very quaint but comfortable, Sidnie and Wayne were very gracious host. I will return for future stays in Kona.
