Our cabin is newly remodeled 2/2 with plenty of room and offers a beautiful stream running behind it. There is a hot tub on the upper deck with the stream down below and a lower deck for listening to the stream or picnics. The cabin is very secluded in the Nanatahala Forest with the Bartram Trail for hiking within 5 minutes walking distance. The Trail will take you to a breathtaking gorge and the Nanatahala Dam. Nanatahala Lake is 5 minutes by car from our cabin where you can rent rafts or there is a boat ramp available not far to put your own boat in. This is the Cabin for you, I promise that you won't want to leave!
Fishing is very good for trout, sun fish and bass on the lake or in the nearby rivers which run in the surrounding area.
The Nanatahala River is great for white water rafting which is available down the mountain about twenty minutes east.
Cherokee which is 45 minutes away has a Casino and Museums and an outdoor theater.

Best Vacation Ever!
"Best vacation ever!" That's how my kids described it. Debbie and Dave are awesome and make sure their guests have all they need. Beautiful view, nice hot tub, everything you need inside, and a fire pit to roast marshmallows, this place has it all. I highly recommend that anyone who is looking for somewhere to get away contact Debbie right away. It is awesome and we will be back!
We had a great time the cabin is a wonderful escape and its location is perfect for day trips to Cherokee, Blue Ridge Ga or Tennessee attractions. There are so many hiking areas and other activities. We will definitely rent this one again.
This was the best cabin I have ever rented. What made it better than other cabins I've rented was the fully stocked kitchen. It had sugar, flour, condiments like ketchup, etc., Coffee filters, popcorn, spices, aluminum foil, slad dressings, parmesan cheese, and jelly. Just to name a few... Another feature that the owners didn't mention is a reverse osmosis tap for nice clean water for making tea and coffee, which were also stocked in the kitchen. We also had plenty of paper towels and toilet paper too!!
There is a fire pit with wood to burn. There are large flat screen TVs in every room with DirecTV, and wifi. The hot tub was AWESOME! There is a door in the master bedroom that is right beside the hot tub...Nice! If you have dogs, the porches are wonderful because they are gated and large. There are rocking chairs, a porch swing, and a hammock!! We used the gas grill almost every night.
If you are a trout fisherman, this cabin is for you! Right down the road is a dirt road that follows the nantahala river for 3 miles. There are about 5 waterfalls that are a must see as well. Also, there is a spot where the local kids like to jump off a rock into a swimming hole... It's pretty awesome and it's around the corner from the cabin near the dam.
The only thing that was negative was the keys weren't working and we were freaking out a little when we couldn't get into the cabin. There is NO cell service. At one point, we thought we were going to have to get back in the car and drive to get cell service and call the owners... But we tried again and one door finally budged. Talk about a sigh of relief!!
Overall the experience was very pleasant and I highly recommend it!!
So clean! I was really, really impressed by how clean this place was, better than most hotels! Lots of room...there were three of us and my dog and we had plenty of space! The decks view is absolutely gorgeous, we spent a lot of time out there on the rocking chairs. I loved that the deck was completely closed in with small locking gates, that made me feel better when my dog wanted to go layout on the deck during the day, I didn't have to worry about him taking off after wildlife if he saw something.
It was a chilly weekend but the cabin was super cozy and once I figured out how to light the fireplace, we used it nonstop. The hosts were gracious enough to give me a call and walk us through lighting the fireplace & grill almost immediately after I messaged them via the homeaway app. There is a great, moderately challenging mountain trail a few minute walk from the house.
Only thing I will say is the gravel driveway was rather challenging on our arrival, it had been raining all day and my tires had a hard time keeping a grip on the gravel and I almost got stuck, thankfully we managed to get down it, leaving it was dry out and no problem at all (I drive a Kia Optima).
A little added pleasantry was the hosts sent me thank you card with my deposit check enclosed within a week. Just a nice personal touch :) I would def stay there again!
Beautiful cabin, beautiful area! A perfect place for relaxing. Everything you need and more is included in this very clean, very comfortable, very quaint cabin. We definitely enjoyed the hot tub and the beautiful porch! The indoor gas fireplace was perfect for the chilly nights. The outdoor firepit is a great setting with plenty of wood, unfortunately we didn't get a chance to use that. Be sure to get specific directions from the owners before coming. I made the mistake of using MapQuest and one of the roads was listed wrong. My fault for relying on them. Would definitely come back again!! Thanks for having such a great vacation place for us to enjoy
As expected, what a great stay we had at Cabin Fever. All you will need is available and the cabin is perfect. Thank you guys for sharing such a beautiful slice of heaven!
We had such a great time at your cabin! Photos never capture how breathtaking the views are. We enjoyed the hot tub and sitting and reading on the porch with our little dogs. One of my dogs loved walking and looking at the waterfall to the side of the house. We needed to get away and be remote after the pass of my father in law and my husband's family dog and this was just the place! We would love to come back again soon! Debbie was very helpful and got back with me asap. It really was the best experience! We can't wait to come back and go kayaking or jetsking on the the lake! Couldn't be happier. Thank you!
We are 12 miles up the mountain from Andrews, NC. 5 minutes from Lake Nantahala, Nantahala National Forest surrounds the area.
