Our cabin is newly remodeled 2/2 with plenty of room and offers a beautiful stream running behind it. There is a hot tub on the upper deck with the stream down below and a lower deck for listening to the stream or picnics. The cabin is very secluded in the Nanatahala Forest with the Bartram Trail for hiking within 5 minutes walking distance. The Trail will take you to a breathtaking gorge and the Nanatahala Dam. Nanatahala Lake is 5 minutes by car from our cabin where you can rent rafts or there is a boat ramp available not far to put your own boat in. This is the Cabin for you, I promise that you won't want to leave!
Fishing is very good for trout, sun fish and bass on the lake or in the nearby rivers which run in the surrounding area.
The Nanatahala River is great for white water rafting which is available down the mountain about twenty minutes east.
Cherokee which is 45 minutes away has a Casino and Museums and an outdoor theater.
We had such a great time at your cabin! Photos never capture how breathtaking the views are. We enjoyed the hot tub and sitting and reading on the porch with our little dogs. One of my dogs loved walking and looking at the waterfall to the side of the house. We needed to get away and be remote after the pass of my father in law and my husband's family dog and this was just the place! We would love to come back again soon! Debbie was very helpful and got back with me asap. It really was the best experience! We can't wait to come back and go kayaking or jetsking on the the lake! Couldn't be happier. Thank you!
We stay from 09/24 to 09/27 2015, we drive to NC from the beach we like a change of pace... Cabin and views were beautiful we love our stay it was raining most of our stay but we watch movies and find so much peace... Debbie and Dave were awesome explaining and dealing with our reservation... The cabin was fully equipped clean and so nice decorated you just need food and clothes for you stay...We'll be back because we love our time in the cabin so much...we didn't want to leave...will continue
Cabin Fever had amazing amenities. The cupboards were stocked with every kitchen tool a person might want. There were even some food items in the cabinets and spices for grilling and cooking. They provided abundant plush towels and a washer and dryer needed. The descriptions and photos gave us a clear image of the property.
We had several questions before and one during our stay. The owners were friendly and prompt with their replies.
The hot tub was clean and located in a private nook just steps from the master bedroom. It was a favorite spot during our stay. We also enjoyed the ambiance of the gas fireplace one cool summer evening.
The covered front porch gave us a nice place to relax during sunny and rainy afternoons. It rained for a while almost daily but that didn't hinder our activities. We loved to here the patter of rain on the rhododendron thicket surrounding the house. The little creek outside our bedroom lulled us to sleep each night.
The cabin was isolated but not too far from the main roads to make it difficult. It provided a great location for daily excursions for sight seeing in Murphy, Fontana, Andrews, and Bryson City. We didn't go for fishing or rafting but it is an ideal place for these activities. It is on a gravel road that had sustained some washing during recent heavy rains. The owners told us they were working toward repairing the road.
We hope to return to Cabin Fever again next summer. It's an excellent rental facility.
The cabin was everything one could ask for. It had all the comforts of home with a great hot tub, camp fire pit and a stream running thru it. The Hawley's were great to work with and the next time we go to the area, we will certainly stay there.
we have loved our week here. Very quiet and peaceful. Love the running stream!! Cabin is very comfortable with all the modern amenities and comforts! Cooking was easy. Mostly we have enjoyed the quiet and the hot tub! Close to great scenery, walked up the mountain road to a beautiful vista overlooking the lake and mountains. Loved walking the Old River road, so beautiful and peaceful! We will definitely come back and highly recommend it as a wonderful getaway from the hustle of Atlanta!!
Great cabin, the feel of being in the middle of no where but your only 20min from the grocery store. All the modern necessities with the wilderness your looking for. Debbie&Dave have done a great job setting up this vacation home, I'll be back !
We are 12 miles up the mountain from Andrews, NC. 5 minutes from Lake Nantahala, Nantahala National Forest surrounds the area.
