Great for families and couples
The perfect place for couples and small families who want a fun, relaxed, and private vacation spot. This cabin is one of seven within Sunset Lodges on Lake Winnipesaukee, a nostalgic lakeside resort in Tuftonboro, NH. This particular cabin is unique, located on the most secluded part of the grounds, hundreds of feet away from the closest cabin and just a few feet away from the water’s edge. Relax on your personal dock and watch the sun set, or cozy up next to a crackling fire in the wood-burning fireplace in the living room.
Like all cabins, the cabin has an enclosed porch, master bedroom, full kitchen and bathroom, fresh linens and bath towels, free WiFi, complimentary boat slip, and free unlimited firewood and kindling. And we're very pet friendly, so bring your dog or cat along with you!
NOTE: If the calendar reads 'reserved,' it means we have no vacancies. If it reads 'tentative,' it means this cabin is reserved, but others similar cabins are available.

Situated on the edge of Lake Winnipesaukee's Basin Bay, Sunset Lodges offers one of the most secluded spots on the lake. Still, guests can easily access all of Lake Winnipesaukee and visit Wolfeboro, Weirs Beach, and other lakeside towns by boat. Additionally, Sunset Lodges has a wide array of on-site activities for its guests, ranging from 50+ foot main dock, a pavilion with large stone fireplace, and even a volleyball court with overhanging light for night play.
History of Sunset Lodges
Sunset Lodges has been a beloved family vacation destination for over 60 years. Originally built with recovered lumber by a savvy Connecticut carpenter, the cabin became a popular tourist destination for New England families in the 1960's and 1970's. The daughter and grandson of the builder managed the cabin until March 2010, when the Sager family--all longtime patrons--purchased Sunset Lodges to preserve and enhance the charm and character of this picturesque location.
Butch is the full-time manager at Sunset Lodges and is ready to assist guests with any questions or concerns they may have. Before taking over as manager, Butch was an annual guest at Sunset Lodges for over forty years. For more information about accommodations, please contact him and he will get back to you at his earliest opportunity.
Butch Ercolani purchased this cabin in 2010
Sunset Lodges has been a cherished destination for the Sager family since 1962. In 2010, the Sagers bought the property in order to fix it up and share its charm and unbeatable lakeside location with a new generation of vacationers. Tuftonboro itself is a quaint New Hampshire town that neighbors Wolfeboro, known as 'America's Oldest Summer Resort.' The locale offers a rare combination of natural beauty, privacy, shopping/tourism, and outdoor sporting activities.
Sunset Lodges is all about family. We treat our guests with care and make sure that they have the best time possible. Sunset Lodges also offers many communal spaces and activities for guests to use. We are committed to preserving the classic American family vacation by offering our guests opportunities to have fun with each other--without modern distractions.
My wife and I loved our stay at Sunset Lodges! The owner and manager were so friendly and helpful, and we had a fantastic winter weekend on Lake Winnipesauke. The cabin itself was cozy, clean and comfortable! We would absolutely come back here again.
We stayed at cabin #5 the week of July 4th. I found Wes and Victoria too be wonderful host. We had no problems with the cabin. The cabin was exceptionaly clean and the grounds to well maintained.
I found it to nice and quiet, which added to my pleasure. I wanted to relax for a week and I was able to do just that. Having my daughter and grandchildren come stay for a day was just wonderful. The weekly cookout I found was a real treat, as everyone staying there got to know each other. I had the pleasure of meeting Weston's mother and father and found they were exceptional people, who were thinking of your comfort at all times. I will be going again next year for sure. My 2 small dogs had a great time also.
Sunset Lodges is a fantastic retreat from the over-stimulation of modern life. Rustic, but well outfitted cabins, friendly staff, and all the beauty of Lake Winnipesaukee without the chaos of the big lake. BYO happy hour every evening allows you to meet the other guests, but you can also hide away and pretend you're all alone if that appeals. And, the proprietors provide dinner once a week at a cookout, which is another opportunity to get to know your fellow travelers. It's not uncommon for lifelong friendships to be made at Sunset.
The view from our cabin was incredible. The Sunset Lodges name truly represents the beauty of the location. Our stay was off-peak season and the hospitality of the owners and relaxing nature of the cabin on the lake made it a place I will want to return to many more times.
If you are looking for a lovely, quiet cottage on the lake than Sunset Lodges is all that and more! We enjoyed our stay in cottage 5 and look forward to many more opportunities to stay there. The cottage was roomy with a screened porch, private dock and fireplace. The owners also offered additional hospitality, firewood and all the comforts of home. This was truly one of the nicest places I have ever stayed! Close enough to Wolfeboro and other towns on the lake, but in a quiet setting that provided that much needed get away to really relax and enjoy time on the lake! Stop by and see Wes and Rick and enjoy your time at Sunset Lodges!
Golf: There are several golf courses in the area, but Kingswood Golf Course in Wolfeboro is the closest--only an eight-minute drive away. Indian Mound Golf Course in Center Ossipee is also close by.
Ski: Gunstock Ski Resort is half an hour away, and there are other ski resorts in the area. The frozen lake is also perfect for cross-country skiing and snowmobiling.
