My husband and I wanted to do something special for our 50th wedding anniversary. We decided to take the family to Key West as some of them have never been. We rented the Anderson House in Truman Annex, which is a quiet, upscale neighborhood within walking distance to Mallory Square, Duval Street and many other places of interest.
The house is just beautiful and roomy. There were 8 adults and a baby. Everything we needed was there.
Erika was wonderful to work with. Her decorations in the house are beautifully done. It was a perfect weekend!
The house was great, the Kitchen was well equipped, decoration was awesome! The Anderson's are a joy, very very easy to work with. I don't think there is a better location in key west! Close to everything!! No problems at the pool, no problems at the gate, everything was perfect! We will be back!
My friends and I stayed for a short vacation and this house was beautiful with a tropical marine theme. Very secure and quiet neighborhood with gates, but close enough to walk to Duval street! It was near everything and we also enjoyed placing bets on how many items in the house had monkeys on them! Erika was very nice and answered any questions I had! Thank you!!
Eight fabulous women went to Key West for a long weekend to "celebrate" our 50th birthdays. The location was great and we could walk to everything. The house was very nice and perfect for us, although the upstairs was a little warm. When I reserved the house, I specifically told the owner that we were really looking forward to relaxing by the pool. She told me that the pool was right out the front door and, although shared with other houses, it was rarely used. Turned out that wasn't true. She also failed to tell me that only 5 people from any one house were allowed in the pool area at one time. Our very first day there, the other property owners made sure we knew... seems they didn't like us taking up all the space at the pool (which is extremely small) so instead of being nice about it, they called security. It was an ugly start to the trip but rather than use the pool again, we went to the beach at the state park that was just a 15 minute walk away.
Another issue we had was that the owner didn't tell us that the house was for sale. Within an hour of arriving, there were people coming through with their agent to look at the house. And, our last 2 days there was a lot of work being done to the exterior of the house... new siding, etc. It was very loud and not the way we wanted to spend vacation. We couldn't even get out of the front door with our luggage without the workers moving all of the debris.
Overall, we loved Key West, loved Truman Annex and the house itself was quite nice. The owner could have done a better job communicating some things to us which would have made it a better experience for us.
We hosted a mini-family reunion in Key West in August 2009. We rented Anderson's house for 3 nights and everything we needed was at the house! The location is perfect for walking to Mallory Square, Duval Street, the port, shopping, drinks, etc. The home is in a safe, private location, the neighborhood is delightful, and the property was perfect for 8 adults (4 couples). The bedrooms and bathrooms are nicely appointed and the fully furnished kitchen came in great use! We especially appreciated the monkey theme throughout the home's decorations. We are trying to round up the family for another reunion and without question, we will go to Anderson's again.
