Privacy, security & sunset views are all yours for your vacation on the Big Island of Hawaii. The unit has a fully equipped view oriented kitchen, living room, and a lanai with sliding glass doors that open to the ocean - where Whales, Dolphins, Green Turtles and a myriad of colorful fish can be seen most days. The bath has a spa-tub & shower. Floor-to-ceiling mirrors invite the outside in, creating a spectacular indoor environment.
The kitchen has been completely re - done with new and modern cabinets.Featuring a large refrigerator/freezer,the oven is a convection/microwave,the stove has 2 burners and a new dishwasher.
Common areas of Kona Magic Sands Condos are well maintained and clean;pool; BBQ (propane) , grounds, individual parking space, Laundry room has 2 washers and 2 dryers. Machines take quarters, 4 quaters per load.
Keauhou Shopping Center is 3 miles south on Alli Drive. There is a Kita Grocery Store, Pizza Parlor, Longs Drugstore etc.

We are true Islanders from growing up in Victoria B.C.on Vancouver Island . We love the ocean, we have a water front home in Nanaimo and a condo on the beach .We are from west coast marine climate, we love the fact that Kona only gets 8 to 10 inches of rain annually. If we get home sick we can always go to the hills behind Hilo.We also like the average temperatures 81 to 87 unlike the desert extremes 67 January to 107 July. The unit 314 has been tastefully updated with antique furniture. It's 3 miles South of the main Kona strip which I regard as a good thing. But it is still on Alii Drive for nice morning or evening peaceful walks. Yet you are only minutes away from town.It has a great location right next to the ocean. You couldn't be closer without being in it. The view on this total glass corner unit really makes it and allows for fabulous sunset views. This unit has a large WOW factor.
The size of the condo. Most of the condos at Kona Magic Sands are 400 sq ft ours is 660 sq ft. The Lani's is enclosed, so you can sit at your table with the glass doors open and see and hear the waves. You also wake up in the morning and sit up in bed and see the ocean. It's amazing.Dophins and Whales are often seen right out in the ocean from your unit.
It's right on Magic Sands Beach, which is a great beach. There aren't a ton of swimming beaches right in Kona and this one is one of the best. Some of the best boogie boarding and snorkeling on the Island. 314 is on the 3rd floor with extra great views and no street noise. It is air conditioned ,has a spa tub and numbered parking. An ideal location for surf watching. The one negative_ the bed is a bit small.
This apartment was nice and clean with amazing views over the water. It was well stocked with towels and gear for the beach. Having the beach right next door and the option of a pool was also excellent. Overall, a peaceful and enjoyable stay.
Had an enjoyable time and really appreciated the location: crashing surf, nice park next door on one side -- great beach on the other. The bed and bathroom were just fine, but the kitchen and some of the furnishings need work. Had a constant battle with small ants on the kitchen counter (keep your food in the refrigerator or on the glass table) and the glassware, "non-stick" pans & dishes need to be replaced. Don't expect a lot of condiments or cooking needs - you will need to purchase your own. Also the storage drawers in the closet need to be ripped out an be replaced - kinda shabby, but not a deal breaker. The TV was great for watching the World Series in HD.
Be aware that this is on the THIRD FLOOR and there is NO elevator. Lugging heavy suitcases up and down was not pleasant, and my wife badly sprained her ankle on the bottom step the first day we were there (thank you Kona emergency room for the quick treatment & crutches!)
This is a very good property, but it's no Shangri-La.
From the email contact after booking to the simple process of checking in, this was awesome. The unit was well equipped with everything that was needed and it was extremely spacious. Given the excitement and chaos of the IM during our stay, this place was a great escape and yet located close enough to town. The highlight was the beautiful beach right next door, such an amazing place to unwind. So pleased we booked this place and our intent is to return. Thanks.
The building is an older one, but is well maintained. The condo has been renovated and has a nice kitchen that is stocked with everything that you would need. I was impressed with the other supplies such as beach towels, boogie boards and snorkeling gear. The condo is very light and it is all about the view of the ocean! You will enjoy the sound of the waves.
It has a great location, right next to a beautiful beach. The boogie boarding at Magic Sands is not for the faint of heart, but it is doable for a quick learner. I liked the location of the condo on Alii Drive, just out of the main town of Kailua-Kona and close to the State Park with its amazing snorkeling.
We would definitely go back for another stay at the Kona Magic Sands, #314!
The view is absolutely stunning and brilliant. Ceiling to floor windows on two sides overlook the ocean and adjacent park. The waves loudly crash right outside of the condo and you can easily hear the surf from every point inside. Fabulous way to fall asleep! The inside of the unit is a very open floor plan, which allows for maximum light throughout and maximum views whether you are sitting in the living room, lying on the bed, or sitting in the dining room. The lanai is perfectly situated for maximum viewing of the sunset (at least in late April). Condo has been smartly updated recently and is neat and clean. There is an amble supply of towels, bath towels, beach chairs, boogie boards, and even a snorkel mask or two. Kitchen is well stocked with appliances and cooking equipment and utensils and there is a dishwasher for easy clean if you decide to bring your own food & spices (Ted provides salt & pepper) and cook. Absolutely beautiful place and very convenient two minute walk to White Sands Beach for sunbathing or playing in the waves. A handful of people snorkeled from the beach in front of the condo. Did not do so myself, but you can see schools of yellow fish in the surf from the condo, so I presume the snorkeling is halfway decent. Very relaxing and we were very happy with this choice.
