This newly and meticulously built 650 square foot apartment is situated in one of the most exclusive and charming neighborhoods of North Berkeley Hills away from crowds. This lovely flat is ideal for executives, scholars,or vacationers who want to stay in a beautiful flat and enjoy filtered bay views of San Francisco. One of the most celebrated neighborhoods and world renown, the Gourmet Ghetto is within a 30 minutes walking distance.
This area is known for the high concentration of fine eating establishments including Chez Panisse by Alice Waters, the Cheese Board Collective, as well as the first ever Peet's Coffee & Tea. Gourmet dining, sidewalk cafes, bakeries, coffee houses, wine shops, boutiques, artisan home decor, galleries, and flower stands all lend the area a European ambiance.
This lovely flat has all the amenities of a small home featuring a large kitchen with granite counter tops, maple cabinets, equipped with new appliances, cookware, dinnerware and linens.
The bedroom has a very comfortable queen bed, huge walk in closet, and a dresser for your belongings. The bathroom features a tub and shower with non stop hot water and two sinks. The living room boasts beautiful garden views and SF Bay views, Golden Gate Bridge, an electric fireplace with an adjustable flame and blower, pull out couch, LCD television, and DVD/CD player. Sit out on your private deck with a morning cup of coffee or a glass of wine and enjoy the gorgeous views this unit has to offer. Washer and dryer are also set-up for your use in your unit.
Across the street and just a couple minutes walk is John Hinkel Park. A historical landmark with magnificent oak groves, picnic areas, hiking and trails. During the summer months opera performances are offered free to the public in the park's amphitheater.
All utilities are included along with cable TV, water, gas, electricity, telephone, fax and high speed internet. We also have a PC for your use. The flat has good sound insulation as the entire house went through a major remodel recently. There is ample free street parking and public transportation and freeways are close by.
San Francisco is a 20 minute drive. Napa Valley is only a 40 minute drive. The flat is centrally and conveniently located to many wonderful attractions offered in the San Francisco Bay Area.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay with our teens at this charming rental. We loved the location and the ability to walk to restaurants, local shops, and parks. Kirk was a great host. The views were spectacular and the apartment was extremely comfortable. We would happily plan to return to this lovely property.
We enjoyed a peaceful holiday here. The property is a secluded woodland retreat. Sitting on the balcony we often saw deer in the early mornings. Kirk and Jeleh, the home owners, were very welcoming and helpful. The suite is extremely well laid out with well equipped. We felt safe and were totally relaxed here. We were often tempted to forgo our planned trips in favour of sleeping in and enjoying the peace and quiet of the property. Highly recommend. Hope to return someday soon!!
This fully equipped beautiful apartment in a peaceful neighborhood was the perfect home for our family with 2 boys under 10 for 4 days while we explored SF. The unit provided everything we needed except our own food - parking was a breeze! The North Berkeley BART station is just a 5 minute drive away with plenty of parking available for non-commuters starting at 10 AM. We didn't try walking it but imagine that would also be possible. Solano Avenue with its lovely restaurants and shops is also within walking distance. Would stay here again in a heartbeat! Thank you Kirk!
From the moment that we arrived, the owner (Kirk and his lovely wife Jaleh greeted us in the driveway, helped us with our luggage and could
not have been more helpful and caring. The apartment was well thought out, nicely furnished , sparkling clean
and equipped with every convenience. They were even kind enough to leave several bottles of water and a nice
bottle of wine for us. We felt more like welcomed friends than a short time rental user. By the way, it is in a lovely
neighborhood with great views. It's quality all the way.
My husband and two sons visited Berkeley for our son's graduation from Cal. How we wish we had known about this jewel in the Berkeley hills for all of our previous four years of visits!! Kirk and Jaleh's apartment is lovely; exceedingly comfortable, immaculately clean, beautifully decorated, and a great location. Every amenity is provided for. There is a lovely balcony with a table for "al fresco" dining, and a full-sized washer and dryer as well. We were even greeted with a bottle of wine and a tray of pastries on our arrival, (a welcome sight after driving 8 hours from San Diego). The house is conveniently located close to U.C. Berkeley, and is a short drive over the bridge to San Francisco. There are lovely parks and walking paths in the hills around their home, and we saw deer along the street in front of the house! Indian Rock is only a few blocks away- a great place to watch the sunset. There are also excellent restaurants within walking distance (if you don't mind walking hills), and an upscale grocery store called Andronico's a few blocks away where we shopped for the meals we cooked in the apartment. The only suggestion I have is to prune the trees behind the house to reveal that million dollar view of the bay and San Francisco. Otherwise, the apartment could not have been more lovely. My husband and I came from Boston and stayed in Kirk and Jaleh's apartment for ten days. It was just as we hoped it would be: comfortable, clean, quiet, very private and designed with everything we could possibly need. If I wanted something, I had only to look because I knew it would be there. That is such a plus when one is far from home. We were a little wary at staying such a long time in a place we hadn't previously seen but it worked out beautifully and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone. Nor would I hesitate to return. Thank you again.
Tilden Park , Huge Regional Park with Many Different Activities is Close by in Addition to Many Other Smaller Parks. Berkeley Marina with Many Fine Restaurants is Near by Also.

1.Minimum stay is 7 nights during Thanksgiving , Christmas and New Year Holidays and in May. Fewer nights may be possible if it falls between 2 existing bookings. Please call owner regarding any questions 415-819-7777.
2.Bookings more than 6 months in advance require 50% payment and is only for 3 months or more.
3. A large elegant living room and powder room may be available at additional cost on one day basis. Please contact the owner for additional information if you are planning an orderly family reunion etc.
4.2. City of Berkeley is currently considering adding a short term ordinance which at a minimum will require guest to pay a 12-14% hotel tax. If and when this ordinance was adopted prior to your occupancy, you will agree to pay this tax.
4. If Short term ordinance went into effect prior to your occupancy, you will agree to pay the requires fees. You will be informed as soon as we are aware of the new rules.
