This is the second time we have stayed in this cabin. It has the perfect location for ski in/ski out fun. The cabin is well equipped with everything you need for great family meals and fun. The views are beautiful and the location nice and peaceful. Shannon was helpful and had the cabin clean and in great shape for our arrival. I would say the only negative thing is the master bath does not really have a shower(it a tub with a handheld shower head) also the temperature was a bit hard to control throughout the cabin. Overall, we love this home and will be back in the future.
This is the second year in a row that we have stayed in section B. We love the home, and we also love the fact that it is seconds from the slopes, we put our boots on every morning on the large deck, walked just a few steps, snapped on our skis, and go. It is so nice to be the first ones down Expedition every morning! We had mule deer that visited several times. The house had everything we needed. The washer and dryer was wonderful to have at our disposal, they even provide the soap. There are plenty of towels, dishes, pots and pans too. The only extra things that we needed that was not provided is a hair dryer. We only eat out one time because the kitchen is so nice. The sunsets are wonderful too.
House and view were great. Easy access to slope. House was very well supplied. Would definetly return. Stove had burner that wouldn't turn on and satellite TV package had alot to be desired. Overall nice place to stay. Thanks for letting us use your home.
This comfortable home was perfectly situated on the Headin' Home trail of the Angelfire Ski Resort. We got dressed every morning and walked right onto the slope and cruised down to the base where we bought our lift tickets for the day. The teens could ski right up to the house anytime they wanted for meals, which we kept warm in a crock pot. That access was such a wonderful convenience I'll never be able to tolerate a generic hotel room for ski trips again!
The huge table in the dining area (seats 10 comfortably) was wonderful - it allowed both of our families to sit together and enjoy mealtime. The house had great wi-fi and cable, so in the evenings we were still able to watch movies and update our Facebook pages with wonderful pictures of the house and our snow adventures. :)
The home was well equipped with all the daily necessities of life, which was nice when we forgot mundane things like napkins, salt and pepper, or paper towels. There were even small space heaters to dry out all our ski gear after a long, wet day on the slopes. The wood burning stove was a nice touch (very toasty!) and we used it on two or three occasions. We sent the boys out into the woods to gather up some wood.
There was plenty of room throughout Section B for 9 of us to stretch out and relax, and it really felt like we were in a friend's home - it was that comfy.
Next to the fabulous ski in/ski out feature of this property (which I can't rave enough about), the view from Section B is breathtaking. Big plate glass windows in the living area allowed us to enjoy the view to the fullest, and my husband enjoyed sitting on the porch cooling off after some long ski runs.
The house is a good 15 minute twisty drive from town/Angelfire base, and can be iffy in snowy conditions, so I have to concur that 4WD or chains are a must. The driveway is VERY steep.
All in all, we truly enjoyed our stay in this very nice home. This was the first time I've ever invested in a private vacation home rental (it always seemed a little too personal for me before), but now that I've done it and had such a great experience, I look forward to doing so again.
