We've completed a full remodel of #707. The work was done by Scott Williamson, known as the #1 remodel contractor on Ka'anapali Beach. Check out the photos below. The new kitchen features Sub-Zero and Bosch appliances, gorgeous granite counters, high-end cabinets and tile floors. Both bathrooms have new tiled step-in showers and granite-topped vanities. Even the main room has been redone with all new recessed lighting and a tropical ceiling fan.
If you know the Whaler, then you know that 707 is in a great location. It's on the south side of the north tower, so you're facing the courtyard with a terrific view of the ocean and beach. This is our home away from home, and we stay here ourselves as often as we can.
From our private lanai you've got terrific views of the ocean - there's only one apartment closer to the beach - including all of the island of Lanai. Look in the other direction and you've got a great view of the mountains.
If you don't know the Whaler, you're in for a treat. The Whaler is in the best location on Ka'anapali Beach. Walk out of the building and you're just a few steps away from the beach. (Closer than any other property on Ka'anapali Beach.) Directly next to the property is Whaler's Village with dozens of shops and three excellent beachside restaurants. And because you're staying at the Whaler, you don't have to drive home after dinner.
All linens are provided. Check-out cleaning is included free of charge. Additional cleaning during your stay can be arranged for a nominal fee.
A deposit of two nights’ rental is required with your reservation. The balance plus a $450 cleaning/damage deposit, is due 60 days prior to arrival. The damage deposit is fully refundable upon satisfactory inspection of the unit's condition following your stay. A 60-day notice is required for cancellation. Cancellations more than 60 days prior to the arrival date will be fully refunded. Cancellations within 60 days of the arrival date forfeit the full rent.

Our mainland home is in beautiful Marin County, just north of San Francisco, but we try to spend as much time on Maui as we can. Apartment 707 is our home-away-from-home. We visit 3-4 times every year and we spend most of our time making sure everything in our condo is just right for our guests.

We first stayed at the Whaler on our 15th wedding anniversary. That was 27 years ago in 1986. To us, the Whaler is all about the location. We love that we can walk out of the building and immediately be on the beach. We love that we can sit on the lanai any time between January and April and watch whales. And we love that we can walk home from half a dozen great informal restaurants.
The beach is literally 30 paces from the building. We walk on the beach and swim in the ocean every morning. We love walking down to Black Rock, coming back to the middle of the beach, getting free fresh towels, taking a swim, drying off lying on the sand, then heading back to the condo. Every day should begin this way! And every evening should include a Mai Tai made by Johnny at Leilani's, just down the path at Whalers Village.
#707 is now back in service after a complete remodel. Those 5-star reviews in 2010 are all from before the remodel. Any reviews starting in 2011 are for the all-new 707. ...Doug & Cessna Kaye
My daughter and I spent Christmas Week at Doug and Cessna's beautiful Whaler apartment. This is our favorite spot in Maui and the location of this unit is amazing. Spectacular views! We sipped delicious Kona coffee every morning as the sun rose and enjoyed watching the colorful Maui sunsets every evening from the large lanai. The apartment is very comfortable, clean and spacious with restaurants and shopping within walking distance. Internet and hi-def television both worked well. Having two beautifully remodeled bathrooms was a big plus.The Whaler just finished a lovely lobby renovation and it was decorated festively for the holidays. The grounds and koi pond were immaculate. It was a sunny 80-85 degrees every day of our stay in late December! We spent most of our time at the pool and at the beach right in front of the Whaler enjoying the fantastic weather. We met so many friendly guests and owners. Everyone was in the "Aloha" spirit enjoying their holiday in paradise. Beach chairs and towels are provided by the Whaler along with free laundry facilities which I really appreciated. Every night after dinner out (We didn't cook dinners but the gourmet kitchen has everything you could possible need if you want to cook and the Whaler has a great BBQ area) we used the hot tub which was very relaxing. The highlight of the week was an exceptional whale watching trip that included a newborn baby whale along with mother and an escort swimming right up to our boat. It was amazing! Of great importance to me, was that Doug was so very easy and professional to deal with. He always responded to e-mails and questions right away and provided a lot of helpful information. We didn't want to come home and look forward to returning to this Whaler apartment in the future. Thank You Doug and Cessna!
The condo was absolutely beautiful, comfy & cozy & clean. The view is the best in the building! The proximity to everything was just perfect!! I can't say enough- we really enjoyed our stay!!
My husband and I had a fantastic time in this beautiful condo. I couldn't say enough about it. We love the Whaler because of it's proximity to Hula Grill, Tiki Bar, less crowded beach and the Whaler Shopping Village. The condo was very close to the front of the building so the views were amazing, especially with the very large balcony. It was also high enough to be pretty quiet, away from the construction going on in Whaler's Village and normal vacation noise. The condo was gorgeous. The kitchen and bathrooms were upgraded with granite and high end products. The kitchen had high end appliances, especially with the large refrigerator (Sub Zero, Thermador? can't remember) and the beautiful soft-close cabinets. It made the stay very comfortable. Two bathrooms were also very convenient so one of us could shower and the other get ready in the other bathroom. The day we arrived they started demolition on the lobby which was massive. Even though that was going on, the check in was easy and convenient and the people at the desk very helpful and friendly. It didn't change our experience at all. Even the noise from the demo wasn't distracting. It was a wonderful, relaxing, beautiful vacation at The Whaler. Thank you to Doug and Cessna for your beautiful condo. We loved it and would like to do it again soon.
The condo was newly remodeled and gorgeous. Perfect location. My favorite spot in Maui. Beach access is my favorite.

We loved our stay in Maui thanks to this unit, it exceeded all expectations. It was very nicely appointed, had all the necessities and more, and a a great value. Location was perfect- on the beach, easy access to snorkeling, walking distance to restaurants, and beautiful views. The hosts communicated timely and provided very helpful information about maximizing our time on the island. My fiance and I highly recommend this unit and can't wait to stay here again! The property common areas were very clean and up to date and the staff were courteous. This unit will be our first choice next time we visit the island
This condo is peaceful and beautiful. You have mountain views to the left and ocean views to the right. There are a lot of restaurants and bars within walking distance. I would definitely stay here again.
