We are a couple in their fifty that love travelling. We love snorkelling, scuba diving, nice restaurant, romantic rides on the ocean etc.
The Owner purchased this studio in 2010
We felt in love with this resort the first time we stay in 2009. The best beach on the island, onsite scuba shop, good and cheap restaurant and 100% drinkable water was all we were looking for and we found it all.
- Pure drinkable tap water
- Quality of the beach -Proximity of restaurants/bars/convenience store
- On site diving and dive shops
- On site spa treatments
- Breath taking amazing beach
- Eco friendly resort
- Beautiful landscape.
- Welcoming local people
We had been looking at accommodation options for our trip to Roatan. This being our first visit we had considered doing an all inclusive package through an airline. Are we ever glad that we did not go this route. Andre was so helpful right from the start. We felt like we had our own personal Roatan guide at our finger tips.
The studio condo perfectly fit our needs. We did not do any cooking, but enjoyed making our own coffee in the morning and the use of the fridge and ice maker.
The resort itself was excellent. After strolling up and down the beach and looking at a few other resorts, we were glad we had chosen Infinity Bay. (We spoke to other people staying at different resorts who commented that their accommodations were just okay). The grounds, the pool, restaurant and staff were all fantastic. The security guard that was at the beach area was so friendly as well. He would go our of his way to say hi and see how things were going.
We ate at the hotel a few times either at the beach bar or at the buffet, usually for lunch. For a buffet, we were quite impressed and thoroughly enjoyed every visit. There are so many choices of places to eat just a short walking distance away that we took advantage of and never had a bad meal any where. We were actually pleasantly surprised of all the wonderful meals we had. Typically when travelling it can be hit or miss. For us, after two weeks, they were all hits.
This was another reason we were glad that we did not go all inclusive. Although the food was great at the hotel, (drinks were a limited menu for all inclusive), but with so many great options, we were glad we weren't limited to mainly eating at the resort.
Every evening we strolled down the beach and enjoyed the various beachfront restaurants.
We took a few excursions, which were all great. Snorkelling around the island and right in front of the resort was awesome.
Thank you Andre for everything! You helped make our holiday even that much greater. Your attentive manner to ensure our vacation went smooth was very much appreciated. I would highly recommend anyone who is a first time visitor to Roatan or using VRBO to feel confident that you will be well taken care of booking with Andre.
This condo is beautiful and very comfortable. It was perfect for our stay and very quiet. We only slept and showered there so we liked that this condo was tucked away near the back of the property. Being on the second floor, we could also keep the blinds open the whole time without anyone seeing in, unlike any of the properties on the lower levels or near the pool. We also found a little pathway, out back, that led to all the little eateries, away from the beach, owned by expats. You have to try the little Thai restaurant "Nice and Spicy". There is also a little market, near there, for beer, water, chips, etc. For pizza, you have to try Pizzerama. It is located within the Bananarama resort next door. It is awesome. We often took a water taxi to West End beach for lunch or dinner, as well. The "Rotisserie" was delicious for chicken and you have to try the fish balls at the "Lighthouse" restaurant. Raymond was our favorite water taxi driver. Ask for him if you can. Very important note: bring lots of $1, $5 and $10 bills. Make sure they are in excellent condition, no rips. They can NOT take any money which is torn. Also, the children love American bubble gum, so that is always fun to have for trade. As for dates of travel, I preferred the quiet time which started after Easter sunday. The Honduran mainlanders come to Roatan for their holiday the week, ending Easter sunday. It is one gigantic island party. Fun for a day but really loved the calmness afterwords. The scuba diving is awesome and snorkeling from the beach was well worth renting snorkel gear, the entire time. We even used a sea kayak and paddled to the end and then snorkeled all the way back, towing the kayak behind. So fun. For quick fun on the way back to the airport, check out the Iguana Farm. A little past the airport but worth the extra drive. Tiny little place with thousands of iguanas. You can feed them and touch them all you want. Roatan is a pretty place to visit. Infinity Bay resort is beautiful. Love the towel service too. Thanks for everything.
We had a fantastic time at this condo. Andre made the reservation process a breeze and answered several questions we had about the area and offered suggestions about places to eat, etc. He was always prompt with his emails and we feel it was an excellent value for the week we stayed in Roatan.
The property is very nice, and we were able to relax on one of the most gorgeous stretch of beaches on West Bay. We only a few snacks from the restaurant/bar on the beach and all was good. It was your usual menu with American prices like what you would find on any resort, nothing crazy expensive. We found early on, Celeste's, just down the road from the resort and had breakfast there every morning for a very reasonable price.
They have water taxis easily available if you want to spend the day over on the West End. West End has a different vibe and you will not find the "resort" feel that you find on West Bay, but if your looking to hang out and do some local shopping, dining and cheaper drinking, it's worth checking out.
We didn't really plan to do much excursions, but we did decide to do one through the resort itself and I just want to say to be aware before you book with the resort because I feel they are way overpriced for what you are actually getting. The activities director on the resort, I think his name is "Avi" is available to go over all the excursions you can book directly through them and we decided to do an all day excursion to "Pigeon Bay" (I think that was the name?) It was a full day that included two spots for snorkeling prior to arriving at a little island where they would have lunch for you and this also included all the booze and drinks throughout the day. First of all, I must say that this little island was probably one of the most beautiful places I've seen, the waters were so crystal clear with at least 3 different shades of blue/green. We anchored here for about 2hrs and had lunch. However, the boat that took us there barely could accommodate the 13 guests plus the 3 crew. We started off at 0800 and returned back at about 1700, let's just say, I am happy to report I did hear of any issues since there were no bathroom facilities, haha! Definitely not worth the $$$. And also be aware that if you decide to book though the resort and want to charge it your room, they will tack on another fee for this!!
Overall, we had a great time here at Infinity Bay, we loved Andre's condo, it had everything u need for a great relaxing vacation!
We stayed for two weeks in January and it is a great high end condo with a fantastic location. Andre exceeded all of our expectations in the help and advice that he gave us. He always answered within hours of our questions. It was fun to walk the beach at night as there are restaurants and other hotels all along and they quite often had live music or fire dancers - we brought a flashlight but forgot to use it most of the time. We rented a car through Dollar once we arrived - Andre sent us a youtube that said if you rented from one of the smaller local shops you might end up having to pay their standard $2000 deductible which was a great help. We got a much better deal by booking online before we went to pick up the car then what they quoted us at the airport. We drove to Camp Bay and ate at La Sirenas (great food - great drive - highly recommend doing it), we ate at Cal's Cantina a little past French Harbor and it was so good we had to go back several times. We went on several trips with Roatan Ocean Adventures www.roatanoceanadventures.com - they are absolutely fantastic and have great rates. We also went to Oak Ridge and had a water taxi take us to Hole in the Wall for lunch - it was a fun trip - the people are great and the food was okay. Also visited Old Port Royal and New Port Royal and we met lots of locals and never felt unsafe; the Honduran people are very hard working and genuine. We met Miss Peggy from the Clinica Esperenza and we would highly recommend that you visit her to see what a great service she is providing to the local people. We loved every minute of the trip and we were always glad to come home to the great condo
We really appreciated working with the owners, Andre and Luciana, as they made the research and booking process very easy for us. Their professionalism, attention to detail and caring manner instilled a lot of confidence in us (first time using VRBO.com and renting a place vs hotel/resort). They took the time to call us to confirm our booking, provided detailed invoices with several payment options, took the time to provide us with information about the island and when we got back from our trip they called to see how our experience was. Great service.
The studio met our needs perfectly. Just enough space, nice balcony, good air conditioner, comfy bed, modern furnishings and filtered drinking water. The resort is the best on the island. The grounds, beach and pool are well maintained and there are lots of lounge chairs by the beach/pool. The snorkeling is the best part - it surpassed our expectations (octopus, sea turtle, moray eel, lots of fish, sting ray). I recommend doing the Dolphin Snorkel at Anthony Key Resort - phenomenal experience.
Lots of restaurant choices in West Bay and the West End. If you are going to make your own meals in the suite go to Coxen Hole's grocery store called Plaza Mar for supplies, hit up Mangiamo's deli for cheese, deli meats, great sandwiches and if you get there early enough rotisserie chicken.
Overall, great experience and the property met our needs. We recommend it!
Our party of three adults stayed in this studio between Dec 20-Jan 3/11. Booking and finalizing the rental was fast, straightforward, and efficient. Luciana and Andre have made very user friendly this process and just prior to departure they went out of their way to provide very useful and practical information to make our transfers, check-in, and use of the resort and nearby services--this saved us both time and money to then enjoy the well appointed pool and bar, the terrific WALK-IN snorkelling and diving (you don't need to spend a dime on day boats to the outer reef areas to have 90% of the same reef experiences!--just get up from the sand or pool deck and enter the water whenever the urge arrives).
The unit was well equipped, very clean, modern, and has a luxury finish with terracotta floors and granite counters. The A/C worked well--we needed it because we are very humidity averse--but most evenings the cooling breezes are comfortable to sleep in.
If you need to shop, avoid the nearby old town supermarket which most taxi drivers will take you to. Instead make up your list, especially for beer and liquor, and have same taxi driver take you to the modern, huge supermarket in French Harbour where you will find almost any product or other type chain restaurant you would likely want in North America. Negotiate with the drivers--ask for Carlos or Alex at the nearby mini-mall where they wait and take at least 25% off what they ask. Mangiammo in the mini-mall is best for breakfasts and take- out suppers--their groceries are expensive because all food imported. I advise you take your own coffee--island coffee is weak, bland, and overpriced wherever we bought it. ENJOY Roatan! CHRIS/TORONTO
