The perfect cottage to get away from it all!

  • 5 of 5

This cottage was absolutely perfect. It was tucked away at the end of a long dirt road in a beautiful lake front setting and just steps to the lake. The sunrises and sunsets were breathtaking . My 3 sons and our dog never wanted to leave the property because they were having too much fun boating, swimming and fishing. The owners were great, very accommodating and welcoming and although they lived next door they were never intrusive. We all had a fabulous time! The cottage is small but the screen house setup outside gave us ample space to have family and friends visit for the day. We would love to stay at this special cottage again, lots of special memories. Thank you Chris and Nancy for everything!

Excellent Summer Getaway!

  • 5 of 5

I stayed here 3 weeks from late June - mid-July in 2016. The cottage is clean, the interior is updated, it sits well back from the little road that leads to it, and has a lovely backyard facing the lake and dock. It's the quietest lake I've ever experienced! Loons calling every evening and some mornings. Very restful retreat.

Shopping conveniences and downtown Damariscotta are only about 10 minutes away, which is another big plus. The owners are a delight and very helpful in case you need anything. I highly recommend this rental!

Perfect!

  • 5 of 5

This was our second time staying at the cottage and both times were simply perfect. It's beautifully decorated, super clean, and has everything you need to enjoy time on lovely Lake Pemaquid. The owners provide the basics to get you started, paper towels, dish detergent, water TP. Outside there's a screen tent, chairs fire pit, dock and a small boat. The loons like to hang out in the small cove in front of the cottage. It's so special to listen to them calling to each other. This really is a great place to spend a quiet, relaxing vacation. The owners are wonderful people and are so easy to work with. Thank you Chris for everything! We hope to see you a third time around, next year!

Will return next year for sure!

  • 5 of 5

What a wonderful week we had at this cute cottage! The place was immaculate and was filled with just about everything one would need during the week. The owner's daughter, Chris, met us with a great big smile and gave us a nice tour of the cottage. If there was anything we needed, Chris was just a phone call away and very helpful. I can't say enough about how clean and bright the cottage was and the view was awesome because -- as you sat in the family room all you could see was the lake from the picture window. We were lucky enough to be there during the meteor showers so I was able to sit out late in the evening on our dock and see the show in the sky!! Will certainly keep this cottage in mind for our next year getaway!

Perfect!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I along with our chocolate lab booked this property last minute for a fall trip to Maine. What a perfect place to spend a week! The cottage itself is arranged very well and provides a simple, laid-back atmosphere for relaxing in the evenings. We were also impressed with how clean the cottage was upon our arrival. Outside, the lot is wooded and peaceful. The road leading up to the cottage is gravel, and the property is located at the end, so there is absolutely no road noise. The dock is perfect for relaxing and enjoying the lake. The water is crystal clear and easily accessible. There is also a swim platform for community use. The owners live directly next door, and were friendly but non intrusive. It was an easy experience booking, paying, etc., and we really appreciated the owner's daughter Chris meeting us on arrival and showing us around the property. She made us feel right at home! The location can't be beat - great for northward exploring and convenient to everything (route 1, Hannaford, Damariscotta, etc.). Also, we had wireless internet that worked perfectly as well as cell reception (AT&T). For the location, pet friendliness and ease and comfort of the cottage, this was the perfect place for our vacation. We hope to return next summer!

Great vacation

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I, along with our Black Lab just returned home from a week at the cottage. It is FANTASTIC! The cottage is extremely clean and well kept, equipped with all you need for a home away from home. The property is the near the end of a dirt road which is a turn off a quiet country road. The dock sits on a peaceful cove just steps from the house. There are a few other docks near but with very little activity. The atmosphere is serene, especially at sunrise and in the the evenings when the Loons are singing. We enjoyed playing in the kayak, swimming, fishing from the dock and boat, but mostly just relaxing.

The central location is great for touring mid-coast Maine yet far enough away from the hustle ad bustle. The town of Damariscotta has a great grocery store, gas stations, ice cream shop, and restaurants. We were able to tour Acadia, Rockland, Camden, Freeport, Boothbay Harbor, Pemaquid Point and beach, Coastal Botanical Gardens and took a whale watching cruise.

The owner Nancy and daughter Chris are accommodating without intruding. They live next door but we never saw them after checking in until checking out. When I informed them the wifi was not working they spent the next four days trying to get it working even after I told them we did not need it. In the end we were actually glad it did not work.

If we ever return to Maine we will stay at the the cottage. I would strongly recommend the site for couples as well as small families. Thanks Nancy and Chris.
