Our stay at this piece of New England heaven far surpassed our wildest dreams. The home is spacious and spectacular. There were so many options for sleeping arrangements for an almost-exclusively adult crowd; not the bunkroom arrangement offered by so many other rental properties in ski country. The kitchen was an amazing place to cook, eat, hang out, play cards and games and spend time as a family. The view was too amazing to describe and no pictures I've seen do it justice. The driveway, which was completely covered in several feet of new snow when we first arrived, went from hazard to adventure as the week went by. In the end, the four-wheel drive trips up and down the mountain proved to be one of the most-memorable aspects of the trip. We all said at the end that we didn't want to leave and that it was the "best vacation ever!" Thank you, Susan, for sharing your "dream home" with us for our "dream family vacation!"
Incredible house to stay for the large family. Plenty of room for everybody. Huge kitchen for quite a few people to cook in! The mountain views were incredible! Just make sure you have four-wheel-drive! Thank you Susan for letting us into your beautiful home made many Christmas memories!
This was our exceptional temporary residence for our 50th high school reunion at the former St. Mary's in the Mountain School.
While 50 years is something to celebrate, this rental was beyond my wildest dreams. The one-of a kind inviting log building, grounds, views of the once-in-a-lifetime SUPERMOON, stunning sunrises and jaw-dropping foliage. Other adjectives include: warm, comfortable, spacious, intriguing, artistic, original, welcoming. Did I mention extremely creative? The owners were gracious, accommodating and friendly. This is a unique adventure in a vacation/escape experience.
Don't miss this opportunity.
We stayed there with friends last year in October (2015). it was lovely. Susan and her husband had made this house by themselves and its simply full of art. You feel so relaxed just by seeing it. I wish I could stay there more !!
I will def visit this place again.
For our family vacation this year we needed space for 14 of us and this house worked out perfectly. The house is truly amazing and everywhere you look there was something unique that caught your eye. And then there are the views!! Yes, the driveway was quite interesting but once you reached the top you were rewarded with the most amazing view of the Presidential Range and the landscaping and gardens were just spectacular. The owners were extremely responsive to any questions and were quick to greet us and welcome us upon our arrival. They offered many suggestions with things to do, places to hike, restaurant suggestions etc. even though we chose to eat in at the house for all our meals. The kitchen is very spacious and had everything we needed to prepare meals for all of us. We also enjoyed each night by the fire pit and spent most of our time outside playing yard games and just enjoying nature at it's best. Thanks to the owners for sharing this truly unique and spectacular home. We would highly recommend it for anyone looking for peace and quiet and a place to relax.
Every March we take an almost spring break to enjoy the snow with warmer temps. This house was the best venue yet. The expansive timber frame log home never seemed crowded even with our group of 12. At the same time it was warm and cozy. And then there is the views. Picture windows across the front of the house display a perfect picture view of Mt Washington and the surrounding peaks. We enjoyed hiking and zip lining nearby. We chose to dine in every night, to enjoy the house. The kitchen was well equipped and large enough to accommodate 3 cooks. We were never bored as there were games, a pool table and cards available . This house provides a great setting to enjoy friends and family. I would love to stay there again during another season.
My wife and I do a ski trip with friends every year. This house immediately caught our eye. While we were unable to go skiing thanks to poor snow conditions, the house more than made up for it. It was well furnished and clean with everything we could want or need for the weekend. The views were stunning from the house and it provided a very cozy place to stay for the weekend. The craftsmanship for the home was incredible and we'd definitely stay here again. Highly recommend!
There are stunning views of the Presidential Range including the highest peak in the east, Mt. Washington. Our property sits at 1800 ft at the end of wooded mountain drive. It is close to many north country ski areas including Cannon Mt., Bretton Woods, Loon and Wild Cat Ski Resorts. Hiking, boating, biking, climbing, fishing and hunting are some of the many activities you can enjoy. There are several summer stock theaters, music on the greens and countless arts and craft festivals in the surrounding area. We are surrounded by the White Mountain National Forest which include trails to remote peaks, waterfalls and secluded destinations. It is a birder's paradise with many species evident such as eagles, hawks, owls, hummers & woodpeckers.
You will need a 4 wheel or all wheel drive vehicle with snow tires to access the house in the winter time. A truck is available for use on the driveway with studded snow tires or a shuttle service is available (no extra charge) & advance notic
Other Activities: shopping, kayaking, boating, snowmobiling, racquetball, basketball court, health/beauty spa, snowshoeing, rock climbing
