Sophisticated, Luxury Home in SLC with 5 Bedrooms, 3.5 Baths (Sleeps 8 adults)
We love spending time with friends and family -- whether hosting a dinner party at home, dining out (upscale and downscale), traveling to new places, or just watching a DVD in our PJs with the kids. We appreciate living in an area with great access to shopping, restaurants and nightlife in downtown SLC, ski resorts and the airport, all in a nice and friendly city.
Wendy purchased this House in 2010
Why Wendy chose Greater Avenues
We purchased this home in 2010 and rented it for 2.5 years before moving in permanently. Now that it's our permanent home, we have spent the past several years adding our own finishing touches to an already great home, plus it has our full living items available for your use. From updating the decor to a mix of contemporary and modern touches, adding some extras to the already great gourmet kitchen (love that wine fridge), updating the house with modern technology (Sonos music system throughout, Nest temperature system), and refinishing the basement into a luxury in-law suite which our guests love to stay in. This is the first time we're renting our home since we moved our family in and we think you'll enjoy these extras too. We *heart* Salt Lake City. After living in other large cities for many years, it's been easy to adjust to living in SLC. It's a beautiful and clean city, with amazing outdoor activities - top skiing/snowboarding in the winter and fantastic hiking in the canyons during the summer/spring, and more city life than you would expect from a city of this size. This house is literally minutes away from downtown SLC, 1 block from Memory Park/Memory Grove for biking/jogging/walking, 5 minutes to University of Utah, within 30-40 minutes of ski resorts and 30 minutes to Park City, and 15 minutes from the airport.

Great vacation home
A large and comfortable house. Nicely furnished and with all the practical amenities needed for staying home and relaxing. There were lots of toys for the 2 and 4 yr old, board games, puzzles, video games and board games for the 12 and 14 yr and internet and cable access for the adults. Also, it is conveniently located for going out to enjoy the city or heading out to the ski centers. We really enjoyed the home and strongly recommend it.
Luxury retreat close to downtown!
We stayed in this gorgeous home while away on business. This home was shared between 5 women. There was plenty of room to spare and we felt comfortable each having our own space after a busy day.
The owners were extremely gracious - answering my questions for restaurant and travel recommendations while in town quickly and thoroughly. Wendy went above and beyond providing thoughtful and detailed recommendations that helped us plan our trip. Her home is incredibly gorgeous and had awesome extras - like a wine fridge, Sonos speaker system, and easy to use central cooling after a long, hot, travel-filled day.
The beds were comfortable and towels/linens soft. We were able to utilize the washer/dryer and a full kitchen, which we appreciated. Wendy was kind enough to leave us a little basket of snacks and beverages to help get us started. She must've known we would arrive ravenous and thirsty! It was the perfect touch to an overall fantastic experience. She thought of everything...every little detail was thought of and it felt super luxurious and better than a hotel, hands down!
We are already planning next year's trip and hope to stay with Wendy again! It was absolutely perfect!
Thank you so much for having us!
Thank you so much for the kind words, Melissa. It was a pleasure having you and your group stay in our home. Best wishes! -Wendy
The house was perfect!
The house was wonderful! It was very clean and welcoming. We come out to SLC several times during the winter we defiantly will be staying here again. We have stayed at some houses where the picture were better then then house. This house was so much better then the pictures. Thanks Wendy for the snacks it was perfect coming in Christmas day. My older kids made a Hot chocolate as soon as they went to the kitchen and the littles spent the rest of vacation playing dress up.
Wow! Beautiful and incredibly kid friendly Christmas haven!
Wendy was incredibly accommodating when I told her we would have 4 little girls under 4 for our extended family Christmas! We were greeted with a tray of movie snacks, salsas and chips and drinks! A Christmas tree covered with baby friendlies and drawers and cupboards of games, toys, dolls, (boy friendly too!), a play kitchen, baby gear for everything imaginable including stair gates and high chairs, sippy cups and utensils. Not to mention the adults fared VERY well. Main floor had a master to die for, basement had a kid friendly family room and another bedroom with two loft beds our 4-year old granddaughter LOVED. Fabulous for a young family of 4. Upstairs was another queen room with a loft area with space for pack-n-play. And two lovely twin rooms with a large bathroom for all. there were luxury showers in two of three bathrooms, Sonos system for sound three TVs in various locations and Nest heating for all zones to keep us warm when we found 12-15 inches of snow had fallen Christmas morning. A neighbor plowed the sidewalks and the street plows were out early to clear the streets (Utah is fabulous in snow) and we were able to go sledding/skiing at many places within 30-90 min, tour the City Creek mall (about 10 blocks away) and the Salt lake Temple lights with ease. A full Smiths grocery store for groceries is all of 5 blocks away, but restaurants of every kind are close. With babies, we sent out groups while we stayed and enjoyed being grandparents. I cooked a full Christmas dinner in her wonderfully stocked kitchen with ease. The table was a bit small for our brood, but we put the older two up at the counter and were able to fit a nephew who came to visit too. (No dining room). There is no real view from the house, but a short walk up the street provides a breathtaking view over the Capitol dome and the whole city, not to mention the mountains in the distance. Access to the city was incredible! But you need a car, steep hill North of SLC in the beautiful avenues of old custom homes. We were able to fit one car in the garage and two on the driveway. A fourth was parked at a large covered parking just on the next block. We all had a wonderful comfortable Christmas week!
Better than 5-star hotel
This past X'mas holiday time, we decided to go to Utah for a ski get-away as well as the experience of a white X'mas. While comparing the prices of Park City and Salt Lake City choices, I came across this house and we can comfortably fit 10 people. (3 families)
The house is like a model home! The decoration, furniture, kitchen appliances are all professional quality level. It is close to the center of city activities and great restaurant choices. just a few steps away, you can see the entire city view and the capital building.
We had a great time meeting our main objectives to get a white X'mas and great snow / ski experience. This house makes our experience a perfect 10! When we were not on the slope, we enjoyed just hanging around the house to watch a movie, or cook up a meal in the gourmet kitchen. We are very lucky to find this house and would love to come back again. I would absolutely recommend it to all my friends!
Beautiful home, Great location
The house was immaculate as the photos depicted. It came equipped with all the necessities and more. Briant was quick and very helpful in responding to any questions or requests. Breath-taking view of the capitol behind the house should be taking advantage of, along with the short hike to the capitol itself. Being close to downtown was a definite plus. Will definitely stay here again if SLC is a destination in the future.
25-30 minutes from most ski resorts and Park City, 10 minutes from airport, 5 minutes from University of Utah, 2 minutes from downtown SLC, 1 block from Memory Park/Memory Grove for biking/jogging/walking
