We lived in Potter County for 17 wonderful years and raised our children there. The ceder-sided house is beautiful, and the 56 acres that come with the house are filled wildlife. We've seen twin fawns frolicking on the mountain and bear cubs racing up trees. Porcupines, raccoons, and rabbits abound. We've biked and hiked and sledded for hours. The town is full of friendly people, and the area has many things to do. It's a great place to get back in touch with yourself and the natural world. We hope you love it as much as much as we do, Jeff and Mary Beth, Granbury, TX.
The Owner purchased this house in 1991
My family and I traveled from as far west as Wisconsin to as far south as southern Georgia to stay at the Miller Retreat. Although the purpose of our stay was unfortunate, the residence provided our large family a gathering point to socialize, plan, and reminisce. All aspects of the residence exceeded everyone's expectations.
We had a great time this past weekend! Tons of space! Wish we would have stayed longer!
My family and friends, and those of my brother, met at this wonderful facility to celebrate the New Year over the past several years. We have many great memories of our times spent there. The facility was spacious enough for this large group and was always clean upon arrival. The owner was always gracious toward us and meet our individual needs when contacted. I recommend it highly as a family meeting place.
Thank you for the opportunity to rent your home. Our group of 8 had more than enough room to relax and enjoy Potter County. We took a day trip to Corning and a night trip to Cherry Springs park. Even though it was a little cloudy, we saw a shooting star from the porch of this home. There were more than enough books if you wanted to just read and relax. I would definitely recommend this home.
We rented this house for a family reunion for 15 adults. There was enough room for us all to be together or adjourn to a separate living area (there are several). It is only 20 min from Cherry Springs Park. The meteor shower was fabulous. Also we found "Lyman State Park" by accident and highly recommend it. There is a sandy beach by the lake with a concession stand, BRs, kayak rentals, and a nice walking trail!
A thrift shop nearby in coudersport provided amusing entertainment when the "shoppers" came back with bags full!
There needs to be another refrigerator in the garage with an ice maker. Buy ice!
There also is no air conditioning, so an attic fan would really help. We brought our stand up A/C unit for our bedroom.
It was absolutely amazing! My friends and I had a great time.. It was worth the 5 hour car ride. Very spacious for the 15 of us. The pictures don't do any justice because the house is beautiful!! Extremely secluded as well. Mary Beth is so nice and easy to talk to.. Only thing I can complain about is that there's no A/C, so it was hot during the day. But I definitely recommend this place for any getaway!
