Felt just like home😘
We are on our way back to Arkansas now after an amazing 5 nights staying here. Waking up to the beautiful view of the ocean was just what I needed. So relaxing and peaceful. My kids cried when we walked out the door but I'm sure we will come back again. My husband and I celebrated our 6 yr wedding anniversary yesterday, my daughter 11th birthday and for thanksgiving I got down in that kitchen. The fact that everything I needed to cook with was already there as far as pots and pan was a plus. Thanks for letting us stay for the holiday.... See ya next time!
Enjoyed the property with easy access to beach. Great location.
Fall Break Vacation
We enjoyed our stay at Gulfcrest. However our unit could use a really good cleaning.
Thank you for your review! We agree the Gulf Crest is a great resort to stay at. The balconies there are very spacious and convenient for larger groups of people. Our housekeepers are only a call away, we are always willing to send someone over to rectify any issues reported upon check-in. We typically do our deep cleans in December, as these units stay booked all year long, they do tend to show ware and tare towards the end of the season. We are so glad you enjoyed your stay. Thank you again for the feedback.
Disappointed and Exhausted
We stayed here for two weeks at the end of August. We were very disappointed by the comfort, cleanliness and upkeep of this unit. It was obviously a full-time, quick turnaround rental property where the owner did not stay.
Aside from some glaring cleanliness issues, such as the floors being dirty and the fact that no deep cleaning had been done in months, our biggest complaint is with the bedding. The master bed mattress was very uncomfortable - it was a wrapped coil mattress and you could actually feel the springs or coils poking you when you laid on the bed. The bed was so bad that we actually got very little restful sleep and came home exhausted. The couch and hide-a-bed in the living room was also extremely uncomfortable. The mattress was thin and worn. Also, when we lifted the mattress on the hide-a-bed to put on the sheets, there was all kinds of food and garbage under it.
The kitchen was the most poorly equipped kitchen of any rental I have ever stayed in - and I travel multiple times every year. Also, there was only one dish cloth - no towels - and it smelled of mildew.
There were multiple furniture items broken, such as a chair in the dining room with a broken leg (which I sat on and almost ended up in the floor) and a broken zero-gravity chair on the balcony. I called to report these things and also to ask a question. There was no answer so I left a message, but I never received a call back. I emailed and also did not receive a response.
We also had an issue with a security guard literally pounding on the door one afternoon while we were sleeping. Since he did not announce himself, we were not expecting company and there was no peephole in the door (LADIES TRAVELING ALONE BEWARE!), we were not going to answer the door. He continued to POUND on the door until we answered. He then accused us of throwing cigarettes off the balcony - we are not smokers. When we explained this to him, he was adamant it was us until my husband virtually had to close the door in his face.
The complex is decent and this unit would be a good place to stay if they would correct these issues. The layout of the condo is nice. The balcony is very large. The beach and pool area is well maintained (although the pool bathrooms were filthy more than once). However, as is, I could never recommend this unit to anyone else. And with the master bed issue, I would warn them not to stay here. Who wants to go home from vacation more tired than you were when you arrived?
nice and quiet and kid frendly
Joyce, Thank you for the great review! It was short, sweet and to the point. Having the 2 pools, tiki bar, kiddie pool and game room is a big hit for the kids. Glad you noticed that our condo is well maintained. Come back anytime!
