We stayed at this rental for a week in late June/early July of 2015 and really enjoyed the place. About 5 metro stops from attactions, and close enough that we could take the train to the white house, do the tour, and return home for lunch (you can't take anything in to the White house tour). Only a short 4 block walk to the Brookland station. Easy to park on the street right out in front. Quiet neighborhood, with some stores, specifically grocery, a quick drive or a longer walk away. We were wishing for cable tv to zone out to in the evenings, but the wifi and a computer hooked up to the tv worked just fine. We slept 6 people comfortably on the two bedrooms and sleeper sofa, and made good use of the full kitchen. Owner even made arrangements for us to have a charcoal grill on the premises to use while we were there! Great place to stay!
This was a great apartment for our family of 6. We parked our car out in front and used to the metro to get us to all of the wonderful DC sites. We felt safe walking to and from the station. The neighborhood was quiet and those we encountered were friendly. We prepared morning and evening meals at the apartment and found the kitchen to be well stocked to meet our needs. The living space worked well for sharing meals and relaxing after a long day on our feet as well. A minor repair was needed while we were there and it was addressed immediately. It was a great experience.
We stayed during april vacation. the appartment is very spacious, clean and very well furnished. Plenty of parking is available on the street. Its only a 10 minutes walk to the metro which is only 5 stations away from metro center in downtown DC. There are a couple of restaurants within walking distance and supermarkets. Very quiet neighborhood. We are definitely recommending it to our friends and will book it again next time we come to DC!!!!!
We were so glad to have found this spot in Brookland for when we visit our son and his family. Before this we were traveling 15 minutes or more from our accommodations.
If you have a car, street parking is no problem, and within walking distance are good restaurants, a drug store , an organic grocery store, and a metro stop.
Just hope it's available when we visit again!
Great alternative to a hotel. We traveled from Oregon and this apartment was a great place to stay. Our boys had their own room and their own beds, and the price was reasonable. Rooms very spacious. We walked to a great restaurant down 12th Street - Menomale, and then walked to the grocery store - Giant - for breakfast food & snacks. Easy, safe walk to Metro station, about 10 minutes. There's no city feel hub-bub or activity here, it is in a quiet, low key neighborhood.
The place is very quiet - we were even able to sleep in. However, there is a lot of ambient light so if you like it dark to sleep, a sleep mask is helpful.
We stayed here during cherry blossom festival and had a lovely visit. The apartment was large, clean and well furnished. There were no surprises as the photos showed accurate images. It was a very quiet neighborhood which made it easy to get good sleep, which was important after a long day. The neighborhood was safe and the walk to the Metro was easy - about 15 min.
