About Conrad McGinnis
This property was built in 2010. I am the second owner and purchased the home in 2014, after seeing the house and loving not only the house, but its perfect location on the island. The house is close enough to town, but far enough to be out of the hustle and bustle of San Pedro. It is the perfect place for families and couples that want their privacy.
Conrad McGinnis purchased this House in 2014
Why Conrad McGinnis chose San Pedro
Why the Owner Chose San Pedro: The location of the house overlooks two natural cuts in the Barrier Reef. Also this location has one of the best locations for Bone Fishing on the island. You can see the bone fish in the water from the Balcony. The reef is less then 1/4 mile from the house. The Unique Benefits at this House: Year built 2010: year purchased 2014- I love the views from the Beach House. It’s a quiet and relaxing area, not far from the action. You can see the reef, and hear the waves breaking from the house. At night you can see cruise liners and of course the star filled night sky. There are plenty of exotic birds around the house, and it is so quiet all you can hear are the sounds of nature around you. I decided to make this property different by putting things with the house that other properties charge extra for like, golf cart, fishing gear, Sea Kayaks, Inter tubes, and SUP boards ..all at no additional cost.
What makes this House unique
When I was looking to buy property in Belize, I wanted to get away from the hustle and bustle of a city, but close enough to enjoy the shopping, restaurants and amenities. This property is 4.5 miles away from town so it is peaceful and quiet. You almost feel like your on a private island. If you want to go into town, you can use the bikes, catch a water taxi which is about 150 yards away or use the golf cart ( additional cost). Here at Casa Nirvana, you have the best of both worlds. If you want to see a bit of the mainland as well, just ask as I offer free lodging at my resort on the mainland that is centrally located to cave tubing, zip lines, nature trails and the Inland Blue Hole
100% refund if canceled at least 60 days before arrival date.
Quiet but close!
Quiet and convenient to san pedro. Golf cart a huge plus! Family scuba trip and close access to reef and multiple dives and dive shops.
Thanks for renting to us!
First rental I've had that provided someone to talk to everyday. Ty was so much Help and Eloy our taxi even stopped and got us ice. We had a great time and the house was perfect for us. Close to everything but in a more quiet area. Very close to secret beach (a must go to). thanks Conrad for renting your home.
Pleasant stay with some challenges
This is a beautiful home set on a pleasant ocean view, but with that said the home is suffering from issues of differed maintenance. After our first night we woke to no water and found a pipe from the pump had come disconnected and was spraying water all over the uncovered electrical panel. The caretaker made the necessary repairs, but then we had to wait for the cistern to fill back with water. Issues of no water happened later in the week as well. The home also comes with the use of a golf cart which is a very nice feature but this too is suffering from differed maintenance, as are the bicycles. The caretaker is always available to make repairs, but for what you are paying to rent this home these issues should have been addressed long ago. If I return to San Pedro I would make other arrangements.
Honestly this review caught me by surprise as I nor my property manager heard of these issues while this group was here, so I was not given an opportunity to address them.
Two days before their arrival, my property manager was doing an inspection and discovered a leak in a pipe that leads to the cistern. He promptly fixed the pipe and it worked fine for the days up to the guests arrival. Sometime that night the same pipe burst and drained 10,000 gallons of water out of the cistern. I was notified by the guests and the property manager was there within an hour ( he rides a bicycle ) to make the repair and switch the system over to the well. That switchover took about 15 min. The pipe leak was certainly an uncommon issue, but it was addressed.
The golf cart is serviced every 6 weeks because of the very corrosive salt air that is a normal part of having a house sit 40 feet from the ocean. The golf cart was serviced as part of the regular maintenance 8 days before the guest’s arrival. There may be some rust here and there, because any golf cart on the island that is older than 3 months will have some rust, it is unavoidable. However, it was in good working condition.
The bikes are serviced once a month by a local bike shop, and the same process is followed, cleaned ,lubricated and any parts that need to be replaced, are replaced.
If a bike or golf cart not to my guest’s liking I would have rented them one from somewhere else. People need only ask and I will get whatever I can for them. I do appreciate the positive noted areas, and I hope their vacation was pleasant. I think the statement of "differed maintenance " is simply incorrect because of the scheduled maintenance I adhere to. I think the misunderstanding may be that nothing looks out of the box new after being in the beach climate. My property manager and I do our very best to make sure the house, vehicles, and all equipment is properly maintained and safe, but when a brand new stainless steel grill shows rust within 3 weeks, you begin to understand how corrosive the climate is.
I do believe it is unfair to wait until after departure to provide a complaint or concern without giving me or my property manager an opportunity to address it. Guests have my contact number and they speak with my property manager every other day, and nothing was said. How does a property manager or owner know there is a concern if nothing is said? Unfortunately this was a lost opportunity for everyone in my opinion.
Exquisite...Beautiful.. Island paradise! Unbelizable!!
My husband and I honeymooned at casa nirvana. The owner, Conrad, went so far and beyond to make sure we had an amazing trip! Seriously he was like Mr. Roarke from fantasy Island! (Young people... believe me this is a great thing) He took the time to get to know us and what we were hoping to do on our trip, even before we arrived. Everything was considered, Conrad had arranged for us to be picked up from the airport and had prearranged the driver take us to the grocery store prior to taking us to the home. Susie, the caretaker that lives nearby, met us at the home to greet us. She even took time to give us helpful suggestions and a short list of “must see’s”
This home is lovely and the property is beautiful! After an unbelievable week on the Island, we spent our last 3 days at Conrad’s Jungle property, Kantara Ku, on the mainland. Again, Conrad had coordinated everything to make it amazing! He personally met us at the airport and had arranged for us to go cave tubing even before we got to the property. By the time we arrived after tubing, our luggage was in our cottage and Karen, the caretaker/cook, had already started to prepare our dinner. Conrad arranged to have a tour guide come to the property to ensure we got to make the most of every minute of our time. We were even able to go to Guatemala to tour Tikal! The Jungle retreat was amazing! The animals, the breathtaking views and Karen’s cooking sent me back home just a bit larger than I came.
We could have never had such an amazing trip or have been able to do so many activities without Conrad coordinating everything! He was so thoughtful... he and his staff at both properties made us feel like family. It should also be mentioned that Conrad went to all this time and trouble, at NO additional expense! He truly just wanted us to see and do as much as we could. He wanted to share his love and appreciation for the beautiful country.
I can’t express our gratitude enough. Thank you, Conrad, Susie and Karen for making our honeymoon perfect!!!
Mistee and Jared
I have never laughed so hard as I did when I read this review! Thank you for such a kind review of both of my properties and staff. Everyone from my staff to the tour guides enjoyed your visit and humor . You were great guests and I am glad you were able to experience all of Belize, not just the island as the mainland of Belize has so much to offer that most people don't get the time to experience .
Thank you again for the great review !
We had an amazing time. We hit a few bumps in the road but Conrad and Susie made sure we we're taken care of. I would recommend this house to anyone traveling to belize. The seagrass does smell a little but who cares it's not unbearable and it didn't affect our trip at all. I read some reviews before staying here about seagrass when it moves in but we didn't care about it. Susie took us in like we we're part of her family and took great care of us when we we're on the island. She went out of her way for her so much that we cant thank her enough. And the first night in kantara ku we lost power due to a local accident but Conrad still made sure we enjoyed ourselves and was equipped with all the lights and food needed. I truly want to thank both Conrad and Susie for giving us such great experiences and memories while in Belize. One of our guest with us will be returning in February for a cook off and if we go with him I will definitely be booking this place again. All the essentials needed were provided for us. I loved having our own secluded place not having to worry about neighbors. We had our own little beach and lookout just to ourselves. Highly Highly highly recommended!!!! Once again we are very appreciative of everything done for us.
Thank you for the great review! I am glad that your group was able to take advantage of staying on both the Jungle property and Beach property so that you could experience more of the country of Belize.. My staff and I enjoyed hosting your group at both properties and please come and visit us again.
Superb location on the island!
We appreciated the location of this property as it was a short drive to both the north and the south of the island. It has a great walking path that takes you along the beach and you can walk for miles. The house has a roof top deck that is ideal for taking in the gorgeous ocean views and star gazing at night. Both units have a kitchen and we utilized the bbq to grill our fresh caught fish. We are a family of 7. 5 adults and 2 kids and stayed very comfortable here. The owner took care of our transportation to and from the airport and was available during our stay at anytime if we needed anything. The property manager was extremely helpful taking us into town, showing us around and making recommendations for shopping and eating. Conrad and Suzi were accommodating, pleasant and on top of things to make sure we enjoyed our stay. Casa Nirvana represents Belize and the island lifestyle that we were looking for.
Thank you for the great review !
I am happy to hear that my staff took good care of you and your family while at my property! I hope to see you again soon!
