New custom house with all the conveniences of home and located on a secluded southside beach property. Enjoy the recently installed pool and cabana. Everything is new.....granite counter tops throughout; all wood cabinets; beautiful wood and cedar beam vaulted ceilings throughout; king size bed in each bedroom with luxury linens; comfortable furniture that feels like home; dining table inside and outside. Kitchen is stocked with nice dishes, glasses, pots, pans, knives......everything you could need.
This home has a cozy, spa-like feel that calls you to relax and embrace 'island time'. We designed and built this home as our vacation/retirement home and spent a lot of time selecting materials and furnishings that are unique to the island and provide a sense of luxury, comfort and calmness. There are palm leaf ceiling fans in every room and central A/C.
The covered patio provides an outdoor extension of the main living area of the house. With the pool, outdoor dining table, comfortable chairs and complete privacy you may want to live outside. That's when the outdoor shower will come in handy.
Walk right off the patio to the water's edge. Two official reef dive sites and excellent snorkeling are accessible from the shore on a calm day. A secluded white sandy beech area lays adjacent to the iron shore that meets the water and the sound of the waves.
There are outdoor sinks to clean up all your dive equipment too and a custom made drying rack. With an acre of private, natural landscape and the breath taking views of the ocean you will not want to leave.
Despite its small size and very small population, nearly every service you could need or want is available. There are well stocked grocery stores, a good selection of restaurants & bars featuring local entertainment, local bakery, dive operations, spa, boutique shops, fishing charters and excellent medical facilities (including a decompression chamber on island).
We live in Colorado and love the mountain views from our home. We figured the only better place on earth would be a pristine island with 180 degree views of the ocean. Now we have both! We have a small Environmental Consulting business that keeps us busy and helps support our Green desires and ambitions. As such our Brac house was built with Green goals in mind.
Pam Andrews purchased this house in 2010
We found Brac on a dive trip in 2004 and fell in love with the island and the people. Diving is spectacular and we haven't found anything to beat it. We love hiking the bluff, biking around the island, taking the kayaks out and mostly relaxing on the covered patio.
We love the privacy and calmness of our house and property. Tranquility is what we feel when we are there.
I have been to a lot of VRBO homes and always enter the house for the first time with lowered expectations from what I see online as they are usually not as good as they are shown. Tranquility is one of the few exceptions where the house far exceeded our expectations. Everything was perfect from the communication from Pam the owner in the begging to the care taker Jeffrey checking on us to make sure everything was going good. The house is very private with only one neighbor on the side which you couldn't see from the house and was far enough from the road that you don't see cars going by if they ever did. The house itself was very clean, newer with all the amenities you will need. We honestly were only in the house to eat and sleep, spent most of our time by the awesome pool or checking out the island. Which by the way is hands down the best island experience we have ever had. We had high winds during our stay so we couldn't do as much diving as we wanted but it forced us to explore the island and the locals. All of the people we meet were so friendly and wanted to share their love for the Brac when ever they were given the chance. We have started to look at dates for going back and will definitely stay at Pam's house again. Recommendations while you are there: Barry's jerk chicken (check days as he is only cooking two days but is so worth it), he is by the market deli, also close by is a larger bar that has wood fire pizza that is very good. Nim's things, cave exploring, lighthouse hiking trails, scuba shack and if you need minor medical Dr. Reid by market deli was very nice and affordable.
We could not have asked for a more perfect spot to spend 14 days on the Brac. This was our fourth visit to the Brac but the first at Tranquility, by far the best location and villa we have stayed in. Pam was great to work with, the villa is a perfect layout, landscaping ocean and bluff side are beautiful. We spent most of our time in the pool or on the covered patio listening to books, enjoying the sound of the sea, and totally unwinding! The outdoor shower is fantastic addition. Sunrise in the swinging chairs in the cabana with a cup of coffee can't be beat. The bikes were great to have access to for an early morning bike ride. Thanks again for sharing your beautiful house and we hope to be back soon!

Just returned from spending 9 days on Cayman Brac. It was our first time on the island and found it to be the ideal place to celebrate my husband's 60th birthday. We were very impressed with the beauty and cleanliness of this small island. The scuba diving operations, both the Reef Dive Resort and Brac Scuba Shack, were first rate. The reefs are pristine and the sunken friggett is definitely worth diving. We also spent time exploring the island and its caves and other historical landmarks.
The villa was exactly what we hoped for. Beautiful, clean, extremely well stocked with everything that you need to make your stay comfortable and feeling right at home. I looked at all the houses available on Brac and glad I made the choice of Tranquility. From it's convenient location on the island to restaurants, grocery and liquor stores, bank and beaches, to it's private location on the shoreline. We spent most of our villa time enjoying the beautiful breeze on the outdoor patio and cooling off in the pool. The grocery stores have just about everything you need and found the prices to be reasonable considering that you are on an island. Flying into Grand Cayman and then on to the Brac was easy traveling.
If you are looking for a vacation that does not include crowds, noise and hurry up and wait, then go see the Brac. You will not be disappointed. There are fewer and fewer islands out there that are still pristine and untouched and Cayman Brac is one of them. It is a safe island with friendly locals always willing to help out and share with you their island life. Your choice of Tranquility as your home for your stay will not disappoint. It is a five star property.
Thank you, Pam, for opening your home for us to enjoy.

We are retired experienced travelers and rarely repeat unless a site and/or accommodation is special. We have stayed at many places on the Brac over the past 18 years – and have just completed our third long stay at Tranquility and will return again next year. Of all the places we have stayed on both sides of the island this is by far our favorite.
Pros: Very private and quiet (except for the coma -inducing sound of the waves at night); mesmerizing view of the sea from front windows, lanai and gazebo on beach; nicely and comfortably furnished (the king bed is marvelous); very well equipped kitchen for a serious cook; large covered lanai with grill for relaxing and dining al fresco (when not diving, we spend 90% of our waking hours on the lanai); dunk tanks for divers’ gear; lovely landscaping with palms and bougainvillea; well-maintained pool; extensive cable package; fast, reliable wifi; many exercise and play devices, e.g., P90X DVDs and equipment, bikes, paddleboards and kayaks.
Cons: living room needs 1 or 2 additional reading lights.
We had a wonderful three weeks at Tranquility. Cayman Brac is a low population island with almost no crime and friendly people. We explored the island and enjoyed the caves, the bluffs and the wildlife.
The house is absolutely fantastic and extremely well done. We travel frequently usually every couple of months or so as we are both retired. We always stay in houses and this is as good as it gets. The solitude on the ocean is unsurpassed. You will love your stay.
My husband and I just celebrated our 25th anniversary and were looking for some relaxing alone time. We hit the jack pot here! It was so quiet and secluded. The ocean lulled us to sleep and the gorgeous sunrises awakened us. There were plenty of things to do with cave exploring and hiking on the bluff at the lighthouse, and snorkeling. Amazing views! The house was in a great location, away from everyone and the pool was a great asset. My husband loved the outdoor shower! Pam has done an excellent job decorating and has thought of everything you may need. She has a whole book on things to do and where to go and who to talk to, which is a huge help. We brought frozen meat wrapped really well and it stayed frozen and we were glad as groceries are pricey on the island. But it was most enjoyable cooking for 2 (normally i cook for 7). :) The iron shore was fascinating and we did a lot of hiking, Keen sandals are a must! If you are looking for alone time at a relaxing pace, look no further.
South Side, Cayman Brac, Cayman Islands, Caribbean (Brac is 12 miles long / 1 miles wide so everything is close) -- Oceanfront: Walk right off the patio to the water's edge. Some sand before you reach the iron shore that meets the water. On a calm day you can enter the water just a few yards down the beach with excellent snorkeling and diving just 25 feet from shore. Fall to sleep with the relaxing sound of the waves.
Other Activities: boating, rock climbing, kayaking, health/beauty spa
